Started rapping around 2001 or 2002, wasn’t the best at first but continued to work on my craft and learn how to become a better artist.  Stage name, Nahledge, which of course is pronounced “knowledge.”   That was the name that I started using initially, and have kinda wanted to change it over the last 5 years or so but my real name “Chris Brown” is obviously the name of another famous artist so I’ve just stuck with it.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind your music video and the song. 

The genre of my music is hip-hop and the song “Glory” is really meant to be an encouraging type of track.  Everybody everywhere goes through hard times and being a man of faith I believe that God’s hand is on my life so no matter what I go through I’ll always give Him glory.   So whenever I first heard this instrumental with the gospel sample on it, I knew I had to get on it.

For me as an artist, my main goal is to make dope music with some substance.  Give listeners something to chew on, outside of just talking about pill popping, smoking, drinking, sex, and money chasing.  

Overall, I’ve been a fairly unknown artist.  Some of that is probably due to my own lack of hustle, and some due to the fact that living in Pittsburgh, PA it’s not easy to make it in the music industry.

I’m solo, however this track was produced by a fairly well known producer named DJ Pain 1 and a newer producer Ovrthro.

I’ve been making music for about 15 years now.  I’ve taken it more seriously at times than others, but I’m at the point where it’s now or never so I’m giving it all I have and we’ll see what happens.

I’m inspired by everyday life, and the things that go on around me.  Also, my faith in Christ inspires me and whenever I write, you’ll get pieces of all of my inspirations, the good, the bad and the ugly.

To me, the secret is a dope beat, a catchy hook, and some ill lyrics.  That’s the secret sauce, but it’s not really a secret I guess because if you don’t know that as an artist you’re probably not really an artist yet.

Happiest day, I found out I would be able to perform at Summerfest, the indie music band I was collaborating with at the time won a music competition which landed them a spot in the Summerfest music festival and by collaborating with them, I was able to get on stage and keep the crowd engaged and put on a good show.

Anna Rose Dellaria, Born in USA on August 21 1995. I grew up on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge in Marin County, CA. Growing up my school’s never had any art program’s, so I began to teach myself early on listening to Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Donny Hathaway and then later influenced by the lyricism of Jeff Buckley, melodies of Beyonce and Lauryn Hill.

I’m an R&B/Pop Singer-Songwriter. I love rhythmic and anthemic melodies that tend to identify to most as “Pop”, but my background is largely in soul music or rock music that has a passionate foundation (Nirvana, Jeff Buckley, Robert Plant, etc.) I grew up latching onto anything that had that primal, passionate feeling about it. Whether angst, or pure celebration of a great spiritual journey (gospel). My biggest influences are definitely the vocal stylings of artists like Beyonce, Lauryn Hill, Jessie J, etc. and lyricism of Jeff Buckley, and a lot of indie songwriters. I’m drawn to melding my rhythmic and dynamic melodies with imagery or details. I write primarily on piano, but work in Ableton and often co-produce and record myself. So far every single released has been solely written and performed by yours truly! I am truly passionate about voice – and the intuitive experience and release that we each hold with our individual voices. So I love recording vocal s and writing for TV + Film, as well as performing live backgrounds (Chaka Khan, Bill Withers, etc.)

I guess it’d be classified as R&B/Pop. My vocals are definitely inspired by R&B artists. Both technically and melodically. However, my instinctive writing process is very much founded in pop/r&b melodies and lyricism. I love giant chorus’s and hooks and playing with constantly trying to find new ways to switch up rhythms and phrasings of songs.

“Bolder” was written very much in the moment. It wasn’t inspired by any specific experience. More so, it poses the question for any relationship (family, friend, lover): if we had one more night together before we inevitably had to end this – how would we spend it? So often, and in my own experiences, we dread over why or how the relationship ends rather than finding gratitude in the beauty and appreciation for such wonderful experiences.
“Bolder” is really just being honest with mistakes you’ve made, as well as forgiving and confronting those issues. It’s celebrating an incredible relationship that will inevitably end.

Staying true to yourself as a musician and artist is the most important thing. Even if that means you have no idea who you are haha. For me at least – it means respecting myself and allowing myself freedom to experiment and fail and trust my instinct. I think you start experiencing downs when you start looking at success as a tangible thing with a quantity of things determining whether or not you’ve “made it”.

My soul would surely deflate and shrivel up if I didn’t. It sounds dramatic, but it’s so true! I am not religious, but for me music is extremely spiritual and acts as my religion in regards to trusting in a higher power. I believe music is insanely powerful and connective.

Hi! My real name is Nour – Nour Alessandra Fahmy to be exact. I was born in Switzerland on the 9th of May 1995 to a Swiss mother and Egyptian father, and moved to Jordan when I was around 10-11.

Growing up I was always the black sheep of the family. I think I started out well, I was a relatively nice kid, I skipped a grade, but eventually took a wrong turn or two along the way. I stopped caring about my education and completely defied all sorts of authority, got in trouble at school, at home with my mother, didn’t get along with my sister, and I was generally pretty f*cking reckless – it was a bit chaotic.

Growing up, even in all this chaos, I always felt I had my father’s friendship and support. He understood me and my actions like no one else would.

Still, pretty good childhood overall – I ain’t complaining.

Tell us about your music career, your band name, musical background, experience and skills.

I always knew I wanted to make music. In first grade, our teacher asked us to draw our dream job and I drew myself on a stage. I learned to write pretty young and when I was a kid, I wrote a little book with a story about a singing bear who wanted to be a singer but couldn’t yet because he was too young. And I remember sitting in my bedroom at the age of 4-5 practicing my voice, thinking that with practice, I could one day sing with two different voices at the same time, haha.

Although I always knew I wanted to make music, it wasn’t until I moved to London that I started really taking it seriously. Before that I took a few singing lessons here and there, learned the guitar, recorded a couple songs and played at my school’s showcase.

I think around the age of 18-19 I started taking my writing seriously, got myself a home studio and learned how to mix. A couple years later I was writing and recording demos for other people, working with really cool producers and songwriters from all around the world. It was a super cool experience but I also felt really strongly about making my OWN music, and putting it out there. I first released my single ‘Feeling High’ featuring American rapper E Loc, and later released my debut EP ‘Purple’ with songs such as ‘Touch’, ‘Cobain’ and ‘Letting Go’ featuring J Kas.

I’ve released a few singles after that, like my dancehall inspired track ‘Over It’, and now ‘Things I Couldn’t Say’.

I was very secretive about my music at first, which is why I chose the name FAY. I really wanted – and needed – to separate Nour, from FAY. I had a friend at university who used to called me ‘Norafay’, and I think ‘fay’ just stuck – I liked it.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind the song.

Cool anecdote, actually. I never meant to write and record this song. The day I recorded ‘Things I Couldn’t Say’, I was sitting at home by myself, enjoying a glass of wine – as one does, aha – and I had this dance beat I really wanted to record to. I wanted to record another ‘Over It’/‘Know My Name’ kind of song. So I got in front of the computer, and while scrolling down my beats I accidentally opened the wrong one, the one you can hear on ‘Things I Couldn’t Say’. I had actually completely forgotten about that beat, so I gave it a listen, and I immediately started singing the hook, making it up on the spot. It made me feel really emotional – sad actually. I started crying and I thought ‘you know what, if singing two words of this song makes me cry my eyes out then I HAVE to record it’. And I did. I wrote the entire song in about 20 minutes, recorded it as I was writing it – which is why you can probably hear the lump in my throat.

‘Things I Couldn’t Say’ is a song to my father, who passed away a couple years ago. It’s the memories, the apologies, and the cry for help all in one. I’ve always wanted to release a song for my father. I have tried before but it never felt right. I was going to release a song called ‘Atlas’ in my ‘Purple’ EP, but replaced it with ‘Gold Digger’ last minute as I felt it wasn’t right. If I was going to release such an emotional song, it had to feel right. And ‘Things I Couldn’t Say’ felt and still feels right. It’s raw emotions and you can really hear that in the song.

I actually worked with a bunch of different producers such as Luke Murphy, Rob Lowe and Al Basha. I’m currently working with Stokes and have potential tracks in the making with OJ Some Pulp, which is all super exciting because I love their work!

‘Things I Couldn’t Say’ was produced by Vocirus, who also produced my song ‘Air’, and the song was recorded in the comfort of my own home, how I like to record all my songs! 

There isn’t a music video yet, but the music videos for ‘Touch’ and ‘Over It’ were both produced by my talented best friend Gwendoline Haik.

I’m 22 now, so that means I’ve been in the industry for about… three years? And doing it solo for.. about a year. I’m not very good with dates and numbers ahah. Man it’s been good so far. My full name is Krysta Youngs.  This is my first project as “YOUNGS”. I was born in Flint, Michigan USA on Jan 12th. I’m an only child and my parents always encouraged my music.  I started playing piano at the age of 4 and the rest is history.

YOUNGS is my last name.  My producer actually suggested I get rid of my first name.  People know “Krysta Youngs” as a songwriter so I decided to separate my artistry from my writing persona.

I don’t quit.  “No” means “not yet” and I’m not afraid of failing because that just means I’m one step closer to succeeding. I’ve learned that no one cares as much about your career as you do so it’s important to really believe in what you do.  People can feel that shit. Put out good vibes and you get them back.  The music industry is hard because you have people critiquing your honest experiences and they want to edit them to fit a pop mold. There were times where I just wanted to give up.  But, I’m a lifer… there’s nothing else I’m good at.

UMS was produced by Bert Elliott (One Republic) mixed and mastered by Yan Perchuk and co-written by Robin Ghosh.  The video, directed and shot by Breezy Baldwin, features my good friend Laganja Estranja. We shot the video in the middle of nowhere outside of LA with a crew of my friends and a case of beer (they drank it… I’ve been sober for 2 years). Lol.

Finally I cleaned that slate and decided to do something new, “Callmelater” allowed me to explore what I could do as an artist. So I made the final form of me, and that was K.RAGE.

I’ve been playing music for 17 years now, my bands name is Sleep Science. I have gone through many musical phases in my life, but as I’ve gotten older I’m starting to appreciate more artists I never really gave a chance when I was younger. I was always interested in playing an instrument. My grandfather played trumpet most of his life up until he was about 86 years old, he also played piano really well. My Aunt also had an interesting career as a singer songwriter which even brought her to different countries to perform. I started playing guitar when I was 13 and have played in cover bands and original bands for many years since then, but this is definitely the most fun and fulfilling band I’ve created and performed with to this date.

We play rock with melodic & progressive elements to it. It’s always hard to label your own music as a band but that’s probably the best way I can describe it. The song “Sounds Of The Underground” is based on the fact that the media seems to really focus on specific popular artists and half the time it’s more about their personal lives rather then their music. It gets to a point where I’m sure the majority of people get so fed up and want something more but don’t know where to look and just sit back and keep getting fed the same stuff. Even as a band it can be hard to know which markets like your style of music and which ones aren’t interested. it’s all about testing the waters and seeing what sticks. The video itself shows clips of underground subways (no puns intended) but I think we all feel that way sometimes, that anxious feeling you get when your in a crowded stuffed up station could also be a similar sensation when your in everyday life worrying about work, money, health and many other things that unfortunately get drilled into our heads by maybe our parents, internet, TV, newspaper, friends you name it. We can live very systematic lives because we think its the safe thing to do but the those most beautiful and meaningful things in life can come from just getting out of our comfort zones once and a while.

I think there is always going to be ups and downs in the music industry but it’s all about how you go about handling it and learning from it. We have had some moments in our career as a band where we have been really fortunate to work with some great people that have given us a leg up, but there has also been many let downs where you apply to certain festivals and contests that you even have to pay to register with and within a few weeks they reply with emails basically saying it’s not the right fit and to maybe try again next year. Obviously nothing is for sure in this industry especially if your a DIY band with no management or labels backing you up, but when you have to fork out your own money for things and it doesn’t work out it can be a bit of a blow to your confidence as a band but again all you can do is learn and keep trying to get better with how you establish yourself so you can create more opportunities.

I’ve been in the music industry for a solid 12 years now and I’ve learned many things over that time. I think it’s more important to constantly educate yourself with social media or even websites like band camp that are trying to make it easier for bands/artists to reach broader audiences. Our future goals in this band is to take our show to places outside of Canada including parts of Europe, UK and the US. We also hope to record our first full length album within the next year.

I really don’t think there is a secret to making a hit song, you can listen to the most popular songs today that have some of the most basic arrangements to songs like Hotel California by the Eagles, Stairway to Heaven by Zeppelin, or even Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen where the arrangements are a little more epic and still are some of the biggest hits of all time to this day. I think luck has a big part of it in this industry, if your song hits at the right moment in time it could potentially become widely popular which can hopefully solidify it throughout peoples lives whether it be nostalgia or even just pure enjoyment of listening to it. I also feel that now more than ever you need to constantly keep trying new things as a musician because for every famous band or artist, there will always be another 10 or even more that could end up sounding similar.

C.HAVOC ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

It’s no easy task to rip a heavy rap and rock flavored hip hop out of total havoc. However, performing and producing as “C.Havoc,” Christian Emert has managed to take adversity and turn it into adrenaline-filled art. As a self-described, “dark hip-hop” artist, C.Havoc is a rising artist who has spent the last three years performing professionally. On the other hand, he has spent the vast majority of his life building his mind and muses into what he is today. Christian Emert’s hip-hop is a uniquely metal rap, all wrapped in a character of true mettle.

It was Emert’s early childhood years that tested his character. The hardships hardened him and forged the real-world realism he composes into his compositions today. He explains, “I’m an Eastern Tennessee native, but my family always moved – I feel like I grew up everywhere.” In fact, by the age of eleven Christian had moved to so many different schools he learned to stop making new friends. However, he was already writing and composing lyrics, his first song he penned at the age of only ten, entitled “Chained.”

He was always the “new kid, ” and the brutal bullying began to transform him into a quiet, deep-thinking, creative who preferred to watch what he saw around him … and then write about it. A master of the message, characters, and stories, Emert could have easily been a novelist, but early on music beckoned to him. “I was always a rocker, but the rap and hip-hop of the late eighties and early nineties hooked me,” offers Christian. He found the music of Tu Pac, Biggie Smalls and Eminem seemed to have storylines that fit things going on in his life.
Part of his Christian Emert’s gift is God-given – from a musically-talented mother and father. Also, he never boxed himself in; he listened to everything, including old-school artists such as Disturbed, Styx, and Suicide Silence. Playing drums and writing songs for garage bands by the age of twelve, he took his love of hard rock metal bands and fused it with his natural love of hip-hop. He was already evolving into C.Havoc; he just didn’t know it at the time. “I was the serious one in the early bands, even though I was the youngest member, I always wanted to take it a step further,” he explains.
Christian’s metamorphosis into C.Havoc began in earnest in 2015, with the release of his debut mixtape, Anarchy. “Even though it was a mixtape, looking back, I consider it my first album,” Emert explains. Anarchy contained four tracks and gave hip-hop fans their first taste of C.Havoc’s focus on the dark and macabre reality of the human condition. Songs on the debut such as “Sadistic” and “Evol” gave a glimpse of his tightly-wound lyrics and close attention to characters and the human condition. “I think I’ve evolved a lot since that mixtape, but it was dark, just like the real world we live in.”In late 2014 C.Havoc began to break out, opening for Lil’ Wyte in August of 2014 and hitting gigs all over the Southern U.S., from Texas to Tennessee. His biggest performance to date was a booked appearance at SWSW in March of 2015. His sophomore mixtape offering would be titled, Asylum, released in early 2017. It had eight tracks and reinforced C.Havoc’s mantra, as fans began to know him as “The King of Insanity.”Asylum, with its eight tracks, was a more refined example of Emert’s hauntingly macabre musical palette. Tracks such as “Mexicans,” with its fast-paced rap and hook-driven background displayed Havoc’s willingness to take on any subject. Half Mexican in heritage, Christian jumps back and forth between English and Spanish in the song. “Demons,” is an autobiographical example of Emert’s artistic goal of avoiding the typical, overdone hip-hop and rap themes while telling a story. He adds, “I think outside the box, and that box is down a dark hallway where people are scared to go.”
In early 2017, C.Havoc signed on with Bentley Records and began working on new material. As 2018 approaches, Christian is preparing for his first official full-length album release. His fans are getting a sneak peek at The Dark Slums via two pre-release singles, “Manifest” and “Poison.” The new songs and album reflect a harder sound and more developed stories. “I like to show both sides of any character’s situation,” says C.Havoc. “Poison” examines a girl’s demise from her demon of drug addiction. Havoc goes into detail, “Within The Dark Slums, I will show my stylistic evolution and ability weave stories into my work, this time without the screaming or guitar solos.”C.Havoc is one of the rare ones amid other rising hip-hop artists. He is frustrated about where hip-hop has come to today and desires to change that. There is only a handful of writers and rappers willing to write what they feel instead of what the market dictates. Christian Emert has been perfectly prepared to conquer his quest to bring creativity back to the playing field. In his own life, he’s been tested in a fiery furnace. Just as a Blacksmith, his goal is to forge his molten music into something malleable. Out his ire, he gets his ore, and it creates C.Havoc’s uniquely metal rap – all wrapped with the Christian Emert’s mettle.
