We Are The Aliens is a combination of Myer Clarity (rapper/producer) and iLLvibe (rapper)
Twenty four year old rapper/producer Myer Clarity comes straight out of left field with his charmingly unorthodox blend of punk rock and hip hop. With a powerful yet light hearted live show and a Kurt Kobain meets Gym Class Heroes etiquette, this young Torontonian has been an established college crowd favourite since his debut album ‘BYOB’ charted at #9 on the CMJ charts. No stranger to the stage, Clarity has opened for notable acts such as Yelawolf, Hoodie Allen and Royce Da 5’9”, as well as closed off numerous festival slots at CMW, IndieWeek, A3C, Osheaga and MIDEM. Now with a two month US/EU tour fresh under his belt, two nominations for ‘Best Rap Album’ and ‘Best Rap Single’, and his new ‘We Are The Aliens’ project playing repeatedly on syndicated radio, Myer Clarity shows no signs of slowing as he paves his own lane through the music world.
iLLvibe is an international performing artist, touring and playing festivals across North America and Europe including Fresh Island Fest in Croatia (Wiz Khalifa, Chris Brown); Festival MEG in Montreal, Canada; MIDEM in Cannes, France; New Skool Rules in Rotterdam, Netherlands and Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, Germany.
In 2016, Illvibe was named runner up to Drake for Toronto Rapper of the Year with more than 200,000 votes. Many people know Illy from winning hit Canadian TV show “Canada’s Smartest Person” and his regular appearances on SiriusXM radio Channel 167 Canada Talks.
It’s been 3 months since Toronto based artists iLLvibe and Myer Clarity teamed up to release their groundbreaking new EP “We Are The Aliens”. Following numerous international festival slots and an appearance on evening news channel CP24, Canada’s two favourite extraterrestrials are back with a brand new video for the 4th single from the project, “Accelerated”.
Shot in Toronto by Rubicon Pictures & Media, this fast-paced, enigmatic video tells the story of two intergalactic travellers held captive by a rogue faction of the Canadian government.
“‘Accelerated’ is the WATA vision brought to life in its most vivid form. The song and the video are larger than life and a ton of fun. Rubicon demonstrated that they clearly also are Aliens from another planet with a video experience unlike anything we have brought you thus far,” said frontman iLLvibe in a recent interview on Sirius XM’s The Ward & Al Show.
“I’m very excited, the video is everything we hoped it would be. This one is bigger than anything we’ve released to date and I’m excited to give fans another taste of the Aliens narrative. We had a blast filming it and it really comes across in how Rubicon put the video together,” adds the group’s producer/rapper Myer Clarity.
“Accelerated” drops Friday September 29th and will be available on YouTube. Their album “We Are The Aliens” is available on Spotify, iTunes and Apple Music.
