So my name is Sam King. I am 22 years old, born August 22, 1995 and have been rapping for about 6 years now. Im from Silver Spring, Maryland. I have 2 mixtapes out right now and a good amount of singles on my soundcloud. But in the summer I dropped my first album called “Better Days” which is available on Itunes, Spotify, and all the major streaming platforms. I started rapping as a freshmen in highschool when I was 15. I was mainly inspired by artists like Kid Cudi, Logic, J Cole and Drake at the time. No one really pushed music on to me, I kind of just picked it up and fell in love with it. I would freestlye with my friends alot just for fun and then made it my passion. I bought a microphone and all the recording software I needed at an early age and loved recording myself. I am still an independent artist which has its ups and downs but it has made me a better artist overall.
The music video was shot in Baltimore, Maryland at a place called the “Graffiti Alley”. It’s my second music video. The video/song “Goin Major” was inspired by my love for rap and old school hip hop beats. I do like the new wave of autotune rap but I always appreciate raw flow and lyrics more because thats what I grew up with. My friend who I actually had video production class with in highschool, Tim Rice with Clockwork Productions, shot the music video. I felt that the graffiti alley would bring an old school vibe to match the song. I had to rock my Maryland hat and Washington Nationals jersey because the DMV made me and I always rep it. The DMV stands for DC Maryland Virginia and its a culture.
