Tell us your real names, country of birth, date of birth and childhood experience.

Matt Sperrazza, United States, July 3, 199.  My entire extended family used to go on “field trips” as Camp Ohana.  We kids had so much fun other parents used to ask us our parents if they could send their kids to our camp.  We would tell them it was exclusive.

Tell us about your music career, your band name, musical background, experience and skills.

My music career began a couple months ago when I started uploading music to Soundcloud just for the fun of it.  I’ve been playing piano and singing since I’m six years old.  I began writing music because I didn’t like practicing the songs I was supposed to be learning for lessons, I would rather just make up my own.

.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind your music video and the song.

I write pop music.  For “Hindsight (Impossible Solutions)” there is a bit of a musical theater influence as well.  This is the third track of nine of my EP “Camp Ohana”.  “Camp Ohana” is a concept project that has five songs and four scenes creating an overarching storyline.

Tell us everything that we need to know about you as a musician and the ups and downs you have faced in the music business.

Breaking out as an artist is difficult.  Once you have your music you have to learn to navigate the business side of the industry which is definitely a challenge.

.

.

.

Tell us about other members of your band, music producer, crew or music video director, how the song was recorded and how the music video was shot.

I am the only writer for “Hindsight (Impossible Solutions) as well as the entirety of “Camp Ohana”.  It was co-produced by myself and Anthony Milan.  The primary audio engineer is Camden Hutcheson.  Both are very talented and were vital to making “Camp Ohana” the product it became.

.

.

.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience and your future goal.

I have only been trying to forge a career as an artist for a couple months now.  It has been a great experience so far.  For as long as I can remember the largest goal I’ve had has been to sell out Madison Square Garden.  Hopefully it happens one day, just have to keep working hard!

.

.

.

Tell us what inspires you to write, compose and sing.

I love to tell stories.  I’ve always loved storytelling and that can be seen in the way that I write.  Like other writers I often write when “struck by inspiration” but I found that a lot of the best songs come when you create that inspiration yourself and just aim to tell a great story.

.

.

.

Tell us the secret behind making a hit song.

An important ingredient to a hit song is vulnerability.  Music has the ability to connect people, by allowing yourself to be vulnerable you let listeners truly relate to your music.

.

.

.

Tell us the message you will like to pass to your fans out there.

I have new music coming out around every two weeks for about another month.  All the support you’ve given me the last few months is beyond appreciated!

.

.

.

Tell the kind of advice you will give to an upcoming artist.

You have to work hard.  Plain and simple.  If you’re not putting in a 110 percent you aren’t putting in enough effort.  You have to be chasing the music because you love music.  Music is the motivation!

.

.

.

Elaborate on your music careers, albums, songs, tours, recognition or awards you might have obtained.

My debut EP Camp Ohana is available on most major platforms (Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes).  I have around 35,000 streams on Soundcloud as well.  I’m very appreciative of the support I’ve received thus far and only plan to keep working harder!

List Radio or TV Stations that are airing your songs and blogs that have featured you as well and send message to them via this platform.

This will be the first blog post, so thanks!

.

Tell us how you write your lyrics, compose, sing and record in the studio.

I have several different processes for writing.  Sometimes I do both music and lyric at the same time, other times it is one or the other first.  I’ve recently begun searching for inspiration in photography.

Some of my favorite work thus far has been studio work.  Camp Ohana was recorded in a studio, other tracks I have released are mostly recorded via a bedroom set up.

Name five biggest artists that you look up to like idols.

Jon Bellion, Billy Joel, Andy Grammer, Logic, OneRepublic.

.

.

.

Name the artists you have collaborated with before in your songs or artists you are willing to collaborate with in the future if you have the chance to do so.

I would love to be able to write and have a track produced by Jon Bellion.  He has had such an influence over my writing and performing style, it would pretty much be a dream come true.
