Tell us your real names, place of birth, date of birth and childhood experience.
My real name is Anastasia but I’ve called myself ZaZa in and out of music for most of my life. I was born in Greenville, NC July 20, 1997 and I moved to Las Vegas when I was 6.

Tell us about your music career, musical background, experience and skills.
I’ve always known I wanted to end up in the music industry. I’ve been playing instruments my whole life, I started with piano at 4 and picked up guitar and singing around age 11. I remember writing songs and poems as a small child, and I always had a desire to write and release my original work. I always loved performing too, and would learn and perform covers around my city growing up. I started writing and recording professionally in a duo group when I was 15, which was when I released my first original songs.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind your music video and the song.

For my song With You, I started off by making the beat. It sat there for a while on my computer and I knew I liked it but didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do with it. I got inspired by what was happening in my own life at the time, and the song just came together in a writing session. I’m filming the music video next month, and I can’t wait to share it with you all!

Tell us everything that we need to know about you as a musician and the ups and downs you have faced in the music business.
Being part of the music industry is really interesting. There’s no set path to ‘success’ like there might be in other fields, and even more interestingly, there are a lot of different ways to define success in the music industry. Everyone’s journey is different and everyone has their own unique set of gifts they bring to the table. I’m on a constant quest to improve, learn, and grow as a musician, and that will never change. For me, there are no ups and downs really. Everything is a learning experience and the music industry has taught me that perseverance and belief in yourself are the two most powerful tools you can use to become who you want to be.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience and your future goal.
I’ve been in the industry for about 5 years, and it’s been a great learning experience and definitely the industry I want to be in. My future goals are to create more music that speaks to people, travel as much as possible, and help other artists rise up in the industry as well.

.

.

Tell us what inspires you to write, compose and sing.
I write to express my own emotions and thoughts through art. I get inspired by everyday life around me, and that translates into music and lyrics. Performing and singing is a way to relive those emotions and let others feel them as well.

Tell us the secret behind making a hit song.
There are a lot of factors that go into making a song a ‘hit,’ but most hits are songs that a large group of people can relate to, whether it’s the lyrics or the beat that evokes a certain emotion. Music is about conveying emotions to others, and through those emotions we all feel connected, like we all share some big secret. That’s why I love to make music, because simple chords, drum patterns and words can have the power to bring people together.

Tell us the message you will like to pass to your fans out there.
I’m so grateful for all the support I’ve gotten on my music, and I’ll keep doing everything I can to keep my fans happy and entertained. I have lots of new music and content coming out and I’m excited to share it soon!

Tell the kind of advice you will give to an upcoming artist.
The best thing you can do for your music career (and the world) is just to be yourself. Like I said before, everyone has something unique to bring to the table, and it should be all our goals in life to bring those unique gifts to life to help and inspire other people and give back. Focus on developing your natural abilities, expand on the resources you already have, and make your music about something that speaks to you personally.

Tell us how you write your lyrics, compose, sing and record in the studio.
I start off my songs all different ways. With You started out as a beat and the lyrics were added last. Sometimes I’ll think of the lyrics first and write to a chord progression on the piano, then go back and produce or co-produce the beat with the lyrics almost finished. I usually find that the songs I like best take the least amount of time to make.
