Tell us your real names, country of birth, date of birth and childhood experience.
My name is Simon Sjöstedt and I was born on August 9th in 1986. I grew up in a small but beautiful place called Aspås, located in Jämtland county in Sweden. However I went to daycare in Krokom, where I would sit and look out the window waiting for my mom or dad to come pick me up.

Tell us about your music career, your band name, musical background, experience and skills.
I’m studying music production at the Royal collage of music in Stockholm. Before that I studied rock music at a place called RML where the band Della Ridge was formed, also in Stockholm. The name Della Ridge is a nick name for Aspås. Ås in Aspås, which means ridge, became Della Ridge. It’s kind of an inside joke among my friends from Aspås, trying to make Aspås sound big and fancy. Since many of my early songs were dealing with homesickness, the name Della Ridge seemed fitting. I’ve always written songs but discovered songwriting through country music.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind your music video and the song.
We’ve always been going for a country sound, but since I come from rock’n’roll the sound gets a bit rocky too. I think everyone that contributes to Della Ridge is a part of the sound and if the contributors shift the sound will shift with it.

.

Tell us everything that we need to know about you as a musician and the ups and downs you have faced in the music business.
I’m the unintentional multi musician, but my main instrument is guitar. We’re trying to do music business without music business.

.

Tell us about other members of your band, music producer, crew or music video director, how the song was recorded and how the music video was shot.
The members of the band are the best that you can find on what they do in Sweden. The song was recorded in Skärmarbrink in Stockholm.

.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience and your future goal.

Della Ridge has existed since 2008, but in recent years the band has been resting and played like one gig per year. That is meant to change now! We have a lot stuff coming up so be sure to look out for new releases!

.

Tell us what inspires you to write, compose and sing.

I’m inspired by seeing other artists perform live and I’m inspired when I hear a clever song.

.

Tell us the secret behind making a hit song.

I think the secret is to keep doing stuff that you like, and inevitably someone somewhere will like. After all we are painfully alike.

Tell us about your happiest day and saddest day.

The saddest day was when I was waiting at the window at daycare and one of the staff told me: “it’s only morning, mom and dad will come in the afternoon”. The happiest day was having spareribs at grandma’s before Christmas.
