Tell us about your music career, your band name, musical background, experience and skills.

I’ve been singing all my life, but when I was 17, after being asked to record a demo for a local band in Nashville, something clicked – I knew right then and there I need to pursue my career as an artist and songwriter, and there was no time to waste. I then started writing and recording with a variety of producers and writers in Nashville and New York. I then moved to New York this past summer where I’ve been performing around the city gearing up to release my debut EP!!! <3.

.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind your music video and the song.

I wrote “Alright” about my girlfriends … a group of young women who have inspired me a lot and helped shaped who I am. It’s a song about independence and confidence… about pursuing your goals and having fun along the way.

.

.

Tell us everything that we need to know about you as a musician and the ups and downs you have faced in the music business.

Being a young, independent artist comes with plenty of challenges. It’s a rollercoaster. It’s sleepless nights because my mind is racing with ideas. It’s stressing about the tiniest detail on a record. It’s a never ending to do list … and a mountain to climb to get to where I want to go. BUT – it’s also hearing the crowd sing your song back to you for the first time. Or watching a song come to life from the page of my notebook to being released and heard by thousands. It’s such a beautiful journey. Hard, but beautiful.

.

Tell us about other members of your band, music producer, crew or music video director, how the song was recorded and how the music video was shot.

“Alright” was written and produced by a really special and awesome group of people. A producer I love and work with often, Lucius Page, started the song with me. We wrote it together and then brought in a couple of other writers and producers –  J CATALYST, Stephen Santa Teresa, and Kyan Palmer. Kyan and I write (and sing) together often – we’re really good friends. He and I have a duet coming out in 2018 that I’m really excited about. Overall, “Alright” was a very collaborative, group effort. I’m so thankful to have such talented people around me!!

.

.

.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience and your future goal.

Been singing all my life but have been pursuing a career in the music industry for the past year. My goal is to grow as a songwriter and performer. I will be releasing my debut EP in 2018 and plan to follow that with many more records.

.

.

.

Tell us what inspires you to write, compose and sing.

My dad is a musician and songwriter and he instilled a passion for music in me from a very young age. As an artist, I’m constantly inspired by everything around me – New York City – specifically. I moved to New York from Nashville recently… New York is such a harsh city. It moves so fast. But it is SO beautiful. There are amazing people everywhere you turn who are creating incredible art. It’s the kind of place that pushes you out of bed and forces you (in the best way) to go create!

.

.
