Christian Ohly, United States.

Tell us about your music career, your band name, musical background, experience and skills.

I started out at a little coffee shop in my hometown and then moved onto play other small gigs. Ohly is my last name and has been a nickname of mine throughout my life. I started off playing piano when I was young and learned guitar in high school. I love to mess around with any instrument when I have the chance!

.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind your music video and the song.

I’d say this song falls in an indie folk genre. This song is a little less raw than folk music and I’m pretty excited how it turned out.

.

.

.

Tell us everything that we need to know about you as a musician and the ups and downs you have faced in the music business.

I am pretty new to the music industry as this is my first release, but I’ve definitely gotten some negative feedback. On the contrary people have been very encouraging as well! Learn from both.

.

.

.

Tell us about other members of your band, music producer, crew or music video director, how the song was recorded and how the music video was shot.

The songs were recorded over the course of a year. The core of each song was pre-written, but many aspects were written in the studio. Tom Mihalis is a guitarist who was a tremendous help on the project. He definitely made a big impact on each song.

.

.

.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience and your future goal.

I’d love to tour and be able to take on music as a career, but that’s a very hard thing to accomplish. Definitely trying to take it day by day.

.

.

.

.

Tell us what inspires you to write, compose and sing.

I’ve grown up in a very musical family. Each song was inspired by events and feelings that took place over the last couple years.

.

.

.

Tell us the secret behind making a hit song.

If anyone figures out the secret to making a hit song, please message me. For real though. That would be so helpful.

.

.

.

Tell us the message you will like to pass to your fans out there.

Well, if there are any out there, thanks for listening! It’s a great feeling knowing people are listening to these songs solely for the enjoyment of the music itself.

.

.

.

Tell the kind of advice you will give to an upcoming artist.

Write a bunch of songs. Then write some more.

.

.

.

Tell us how you write your lyrics, compose, sing and record in the studio.

I usually try to write when I’m feeling particularly moved by something. The key for me was to eliminate any distractions and write until I have something I’m actually content with, even if it means I’m only getting an hour of sleep.

Name five biggest artists that you like.

The Lumineers, Vampire Weekend, The Head and the Heart, Pinegrove and Wet.

.

.

.

Name the artists you have collaborated with before in your songs or artists you are willing to collaborate with in the future if you have the chance to do so.

Katy Wurm is a super cool girl who sang on the last song of my EP.  She’ll probably be famous pretty soon.

Tell us about your happiest day and saddest day.

Happiest: When I got the song approved by Broadtube Music Channel!  Saddest: This is too tough of a question :/.

Tell us how you will spend a million dollars.

I’d give a huge chunk of it to my family.  They’re really good at making decisions.
