Tell us your real names, country of birth, date of birth and childhood experience.

My stage name is ELIZA and my real name is Eliza Salinieka. I was born in Latvia, on 10th May 1992. I spent my early days playing, daydreaming and exploring the world around me. I grew up in a small town and always enjoyed time with my friends, singing and traveling with my family.

Tell us about your music career, your band name, musical background, experience and skills.

I went to a music school from the age of 7 and was learning to play the violin but soon after that, I realized that singing is what I want to do professionally and started taking singing and choreography lessons.

After high school, I decided to move to London, UK to study at BIMM and pursue my music career and 2011 I graduated with a degree in Popular Music Performance.

I’m currently writing and recording new music and collaborating with various artists.

My purpose of writing and sharing my music is to convey my life experiences, thoughts and dreams in an authentic musical expression to hopefully inspire others.

.

.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind your music video and the song.

I would describe my genre as pop/electro with influences from soul and RnB music scene. The track “Roses” is one of those fresh pop songs that you’d listen to in a summer pool party.

I wrote this song to say goodbye to summer and celebrate the good times I have experienced throughout. I wanted to write a song that is easy to listen to and that would evoke emotions and certain memories that bring people back to  those happy days, and hopefully, many people can relate to it from their own experiences. Rose is a symbol of love and passion and it is supposed to convey messages without words. This song is about the summer love and keeping those memories close to your heart throughout the autumn and winter days.

.

Tell us everything that we need to know about you as a musician and the ups and downs you have faced in the music business.

I am a singer-songwriter creating fresh pop and electronic music that is inspired by the contemporary pop, soul and RnB music scene. I am a London-based artist and making music is my main creative outlet that brings true contentment and happiness.

There will always be ups and downs but I try to focus on the positive and appreciate each small victory that I have. 🙂

.

.

.

Tell us about other members of your band, music producer, crew or music video director, how the song was recorded and how the music video was shot.

I’m a solo artist. I worked on this song with a producer Tobo Tobo, Founder of Orbitual Recordings,  who is from Nagoya / Chicago. It was a collaboration and we worked remotely by sharing ideas for the song.

.

.

.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience and your future goal.

I have been in the music industry for about 4 years now and my future goal is to grow each day, become better and to make music that touches hearts and evokes emotions in my listeners.

.

.

.

Tell us what inspires you to write, compose and sing.

As I mentioned before, music is my main creative outlet that brings true contentment and happiness. I believe that music unlike anything else has the power to reach across all boundaries, inspire deep feelings, evoke memories and spread smiles!

.

.

.

Tell us the secret behind making a hit song.

If only there was a secret that everyone knew about…. 🙂

Of course, there are certain structures to follow but a good hit song needs to have more than that. I guess the main thing is to have a story behind it that resonates with people, write a catchy melody and to be authentic.

.

.

.

Tell us the message you will like to pass to your fans out there.

Be you, be kind and never give up ❤

Thank you for listening to my music and supporting my artistry, it means the world to me.

.

.

.

Tell the kind of advice you will give to an upcoming artist.

I would say: Create music that means something to you and your talent will shine through. Be authentic, find your niche and put your strengths to work. Don’t wait for approval and stay strong as good things come to those who wait.

.

.

.

Elaborate on your music careers, albums, songs, tours, recognition or awards you might have obtained.

I’m working on my music and an album and have some time before I’ll be announcing a tour.

Last year, I was featured on BBC Music Introducing with a song “Horizon” produced by Jake Alder.

Tell us how you write your lyrics, compose, sing and record in the studio.

It varies from time to time. Sometimes, I come up with a catchy melody first, other times, I write lyrics and then follows the melody. I prefer playing piano and improvise – that’s how I write most of the time.
