Tell us about your music career, your band name, musical background, experience and skills.

I started playing music at the age of 10 and began drumming for small local bands with my brothers as well as playing for churches.

I am currently a multi instrumentalist, producer, audio engineer and songwriter.

Last year I started a band called Reno Royale.

.

.

.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind your music video and the song.

Reno Royale is an indie pop band that doesn’t strictly adhere to one genre. The goal of the band is to Utilize the work of musicians around the world and maintain pure/honest recordings. I wrote the song Mayfly as an ode to a dear friend who has impacted my life greatly.

.

.

.

Tell us everything that we need to know about you as a musician and the ups and downs you have faced in the music business.

I am a metal head by nature but I’m producing and playing indie/pop and soft rock. The hardest part of having a band so far is keeping everyone on the same page.

Schedules, vision and motivation can all be hurdles for any musician so when you multiply them it can be a struggle.

.

.

.

Tell us about other members of your band, music producer, crew or music video director, how the song was recorded and how the music video was shot.

The other band members are: Azarya Baggot, Jacob Sommerio and Mike Breitenbach. I produce, write, record, mix and master all of our songs.

.

.

.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience and your future goal.

I have been recording bands since I was 18 years old. I’ve worked with a lot of cool bands both at home and in studios all over.

My future goal is maintain a healthy balance in music where work and fun don’t over power each other.

.

.

.

Tell us what inspires you to write, compose and sing.

I am an avid camper, backpacker and hiker. I derive a lot of my inspiration when I’m in the mountains or traveling.

.

.

.

Tell us the secret behind making a hit song.

To be completely honest…I’m still figuring that out. (haha)

.

.

.

Tell us the message you will like to pass to your fans out there.

I would like to thank them for the support I’ve been given in this endeavor. The encouragement really is what keeps this happening.

.

.

.

Tell the kind of advice you will give to an upcoming artist.

Work hard. Anyone can write a song and anyone can get a decent recording. Hard work and attention to detail is what sets someone apart.

.

.

.

Elaborate on your music careers, albums, songs, tours, recognition or awards you might have obtained.

We are all mostly hobbyists but in our younger days we have each either gigged or toured. Jacob, Azarya and myself are all studio engineers and have worked in numerous studios.

.

.

.

List Radio or TV Stations that are airing your songs and blogs that have featured you as well and send message to them via this platform.

Reno Royale is just starting out so we haven’t had a ton of attention at this point. However, Kevin Hugger of MP3Hugger Graciously Blogged about our single.

.

.

.

Tell us how you write your lyrics, compose, sing and record in the studio.

Generally the writing process begins with a melody. Later that melody becomes an iPhone voice memo. After a basic flow is established, I begin to legitimately record the song.

This happens in my house. From there I send the demo to the other members where they can either learn their part or write their own. Eventually we meet up and record our parts.

.

.

.

Name five biggest artists that you like.

David Bazaan, Rufus Wainwright, Punch Brothers, Night Beds and Ben Folds.

.

.

.

Name the artists you have collaborated with before in your songs or artists you are willing to collaborate with in the future if you have the chance to do so.

The Band began as a collaboration of musicians that I’ve met all over the world. I plan to utilize many of these same musicians again.

Tell us about your happiest day and saddest day.

My happiest day was when the day I climbed Storhaugen (a mountain in Norway).

I don’t specifically have a single saddest day but my saddest days have been the days of the passing of friends and loved ones.

.

.

.

Tell us how you will spend a million dollars.

I would splurge on some gear and microphones and then I would invest the rest in something to create renewable income.

With that I would make sure my parents never had to work again.
