David Pontvik (guitar), Ivan Bernengo (guitar), Robert Wadeskog (drums).

.

Tell us about your music career, your band name, musical background, experience and skills.

Something Dead started in early 2017. All members have previously been in different bands and musical projects, and also experience from working in the music business. The band name is referring to more of a feeling than something literally dead. A feeling you get of an idea, state of mind, a relationship or other aspects of your life.

.

.

.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind your music video and the song.

We mix heavy fuzz guitar sound that you get from stonerrock but more uptempo and punky riffs. Sorth of a stonerpunk, or fuzzpunk. And the vocals are more towards the hardcore attitude but still maintaining the melodies. The song “Something Dead” is about coping with anxiety and that you need to fight it.

.

.

.

Tell us everything that we need to know about you as a musician and the ups and downs you have faced in the music business.

The music business in Sweden is big, there are a lot of companies and innovators that are taking the business into a new era. The problem here is the scene. You have the business, the musicians and the creators, but not the scene in the same way that you have it other places of the world. The reality of making it as an artist or band in Sweden, especially doing alternative music like us, is to put your effort in reaching outside of the borders and focus on countries like Germany.

.

.

.

Tell us about other members of your band, music producer, crew or music video director, how the song was recorded and how the music video was shot.

We recorded our EP “It Is What It Is” at Everyday Life Studios Stockholm in one day. All instrumentals live and we recorded the vocals on top of that. Then Felix Lindberg at Purple Room Studios did an awesome job mixing and mastering it.

.

.

.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience and your future goal.

This band is relatively new, but we’ve been playing in different bands for a long time. David has been working with live music most of his life. And our passion for music really brought us together. Our goal is to get out and play live show as much as possible because Something Dead is first and foremost a live band that you need to experience live.

.

.

.

Tell us what inspires you to write, compose and sing.

Most of the lyrics is about life’s struggles, and fighting your inner and outer demons. The singing and screaming for us is like therapy, everything you have inside you, you can just let it out.

.

.

.

Tell us the secret behind making a hit song.

Well, we don’t really do hits in that sense. We’re not a radio friendly band. What we hope for that our music will hit you, and forever be a fan.

.

.

.

Tell us the message you will like to pass to your fans out there.

Spread our music and come to our shows! We always give our 100 percent, for you to have an awesome experience!

.

.

.

Tell the kind of advice you will give to an upcoming artist.

Try to find a unique sound, something that is you and separates you from others. Then the rest will fall into place.

.

.

.

Elaborate on your music careers, albums, songs, tours, recognition or awards you might have obtained.

Well, right now we are happy that people like our new EP. We’ve been featured in podcast, radio and shared in different YouTube channels. So we hope more and more people are going to keep discovering our music.

.

.

.

Tell us how you write your lyrics, compose, sing and record in the studio.

Usually David comes with the riffs and Ivans adds his awesome guitar melodies on top of that. Robert is such a great drummer, we usually find the right feel to a song pretty fast. We did a couple of demos, record our rehearsals and like that the songs evolve.

.

.

.

Name five biggest artists that you like.

We like bands like The Bronx, Queens of the Stone Age, Red Fang, Mutoid Man and Torche.

.

.

.

Name the artists you have collaborated with before in your songs or artists you are willing to collaborate with in the future if you have the chance to do so.

We’d love to collaborate with all the artists mentioned above of course. We are also open for suggestions.

We are at our happiest when we are on stage performing! And we are at our saddest when it’s winter in Stockholm and we are out of mate.

World tour!! Maybe buying an apartment…
