Tell us your real names, country of birth, date of birth and childhood experience.
Johnny Paglino, homemade in the USA, girls tell me I’m a Taurus. I grew up in Tampa, Florida. I think I’m over talking about my childhood, I’ll just say it was really blessed and I can’t believe I survived it.

Tell us about your music career, your band name, musical background, experience and skills.
I’ve released music under a couple of different monikers, most recently as Dolphins. But now I’m doing all the work myself and not really in a band, so I figured I’d just use my real name.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind the song.
I wanted to write a couple of songs about the current political moment, and this was the first one I finished. In the last few years I’ve had the displeasure of spending time with the criminal justice system and I wanted to frame that experience as a poppy breakup song to America. My relationship with this country is about as complicated as any romantic one I’ve had, and the EP represents a menu of takes on that theme. This is just the catchiest song among them.
I don’t really think about genre when I write anymore, it always got in the way for me. Other people can decide that.

Tell us about other members of your band, music producer, and how the song was recorded.
I played and recorded everything in the bedroom. Evan over at Mixtown USA mixed and mastered it.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience and your future goal.
I’ve been releasing music for over a decade, albeit with some wasted years throughout. I’ve played live a lot and I’ve been in the room for some major label sessions, but I wouldn’t say I’ve ever been in the industry. From what I’ve seen of it, I’m glad.

Tell us about your happiest day and saddest day.
Happiest day was probably getting into college. My lawyer would have a conniption if I talked about my saddest day.
