Tell us about your music career, your band name, musical background, experience and skills.

Loud Forest started in 2016 when Rachel and Bernard decided to make music as married collaborators and match equally in all elements of singing, writing and producing the sound. Having both played in many other bands, this was the first of its kind.

.

.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind your music video and the song.

Genre: Indie underground pop

Concept/Idea behind Music video/song: “Wake Up” was written by Bernard Chadwick.

.

.

.

Tell us everything that we need to know about you as a musician and the ups and downs you have faced in the music business.

Bernard and Rachel have been playing music for as long as can be remembered. Creating Loud Forest has been about doing whatever the fuck they want with music, craft and structure. To have fun, to play cool shows, to be excited about music. To collaborate with each other in our experimental project space. To collaborate with friends. This is ‘UP” for us.

.

.

.

Tell us about other members of your band, music producer, crew or music video director, how the song was recorded and how the music video was shot.

We pretty much do everything ourselves, and lately have been collaborating with our drummer and friend, Steve Wilmot. We record everything in our experimental project space in Pasadena CA with our own equipment. When we play live shows, we play with Steve Wilmot (drums), Alex Strahle (guitar), and Carlen Walth (bass). The video was shot by Andy Alseri in a single take in our Project Space in Pasadena.

.

.

.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience and your future goal.

We have skirted around the industry a bit – singing for commercial stuff, having a few placements for small projects etc. Loud Forest has opened up new doors and at this point our goal is to be able to make music, collaborate with others and have audience that wants to listen to our stuff.

.

.

.

Tell us what inspires you to write, compose and sing.

Music inspires. Songwriting is a challenge, that’s inspiring. Other good music inspires. Art inspires. We are inspired by each other, our daughters, friends and family. We are inspired by fancy microphones and cool studio spaces. We are inspired by friends that we collaborate with.

.

.

.

Tell us the secret behind making a hit song.

Time and patience. No judgement. Space. Work. Failure. More work.

.

.

.

Tell us the message you will like to pass to your fans out there.

Listen to music. Buy it. Tell artists if you like their music. Relax. Be kind.

.

.

.

Tell the kind of advice you would give to an upcoming artist.

Time and patience. Slow work. Perspiration. Hustle. Humility.

.

.

.

Elaborate on your music careers, albums, songs, tours, recognition or awards you might have obtained.

We are working on our second album. The first was self titled. We’ve never toured before, although that sounds fun. We are picky about shows – we mostly host shows in our project space. We’ve won the award of least shows, most fans hahaha.

.

.

.

List Radio or TV Stations that are airing your songs and blogs that have featured you as well and send message to them via this platform.

Probably some really cool names and stations, but I can’t think of them specifically right now. It’s all good stuff. Just making music is the thing for us.

.

.

.

Tell us how you write your lyrics, compose, sing and record in the studio.

We write collaboratively. We work together. We work separate. We come back together and try out ideas. We record a lot of stuff on our phone. We send each other clips. Bernard composes wordless instrumental tracks, our drummer, Steve, make beats, loops, etc – We all get together and string things up. We record everything ourselves in our project space. We drink some whisky, write some more, layer vocals, get coffee, create a bridge, etc.

.

.

.

Name five biggest artists that you like.

Ah this is ever changing. Daily in fact. But right now in this moment, my Spotify top list says: Johannes Brahms, Steve Reich, Pylon, Bob Dylan and Justin Bieber hahahaha.

.

.

.

Name the artists you have collaborated with before in your songs or artists you are willing to collaborate with in the future if you have the chance to do so.

Steve Wilmot, Kotomi, Opus Orange, Alex Strahle, Carlen Walth and Oblio. I guess in the future we’d be willing to collaborate with any of the artists mentioned above, if they pressured us.
