Tell us about your music career, your band name, musical background, experience and skills.

We grew up in NYC and formed the band under the name Disco Cream in high school playing shows at venues around the city. Once we went on to college we met John and changed our name to Deep Sea Peach Tree.

.

.

.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind your music video and the song.

We consider our genre to be something like sleepy surf rock. We draw influence from jazz standards as well as modern indie/surf rock. When we combine the two we end up with surf rock that can’t help but feel like it’s meant for night time.

.

.

.

Tell us everything that we need to know about you as a musician and the ups and downs you have faced in the music business.

We have had some good fortune with venues and talent buyers in NYC, but the music industry comes with its challenges, especially in a highly competitive environment like New York.

.

.

.

Tell us about other members of your band, music producer, crew or music video director, how the song was recorded and how the music video was shot.

The song was recorded at Red Feather Studios at Wesleyan University. We do not attend Wesleyan but have good friends who are also sound engineers.

.

.

.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience and your future goal.

We’ve been around for about two years at this point, still up and coming. We hope to move past the club/bar circuit and onto the next thing.

.

.

.

Tell us what inspires you to write, compose and sing.

I draw inspiration from the people around me that I feel connected to. I also spend a lot of time in the ocean, which can inspire me immensely as well.

Tell us the message you will like to pass to your fans out there.

 Don’t sweat it so much.

.

.

.

Tell the kind of advice you will give to an upcoming artist.

Persistence is key, if you are actually worth something, your music will eventually catch. Optimism and confidence can go a long way.

.

.

.

Elaborate on your music careers, albums, songs, tours, recognition or awards you might have obtained.

We were nominated once on an online music site “Pulse” for our song Hypnagogia.

.

.

.

Tell us how you write your lyrics, compose, sing and record in the studio.

I usually write the music first and hear out a melody on top. Once I find the right sonic mixture I’ll add words and rhyme patterns.
