Tell us about your music career, your band name, musical background, experience and skills.

I am an urban singer/songwriter/rapper with great passion and strength for music. I am a versatile Spanglish (mix of Spanish and English) artist, a representative of black music and creative in all possible ways from Hip Hop/R&B/Reggae to Blues and more. I would define myself as a Top Liner/Lyricist with a good resource of melodies yet to be heard. I have been blessed with a powerfully bass and romantic voice, that gives me a distinct sound. Right now I am in the best stage of my music career. After moving to Toronto and letting everything behind in Cuba I had to adapt and learn as quickly as possible to be able to have a least a chance to keep doing what I love. It’s been difficult, but rewarded. I had the opportunity to learn about the industry I wanted to get in and yes I love everything related with it. My stage name is taken from my original name. I do not play any physical instrument but I compose with the computer. I have been doing this for about 16 years almost 3/4 of my lifetime. I am a model as well, with fashion, designs, runaway and photography experience.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind your music video and the song.

“Music is my favourite genre” Coming from Cuba I have a pretty good understanding of Latin music in general. I did around five albums of urban Latin music(Spanish/English/Spanglish. I started rapping, but I got older and experienced so I felt the curiosity for the singing side and realizing that I had the potential for singing as well I just needed to take it seriously and learn most I can about my voice. I catalogue myself more a history teller than a songwriter. I strive always to find a common ground in anything I write. 80% of the songs I write the lyrics are based on me. The other 20% are based on friends, family, emotions and feelings etc.

Tell us everything that we need to know about you as a musician and the ups and downs you have faced in the music business.

Honestly I had started like 4 times from zero, literally zero, but I had made my way through, accomplishing my goals set at the time. I love acoustics instruments. I am seeking a unique sound that creates peace in the world and within me. I realized that in the music business money is the main interest the rest is secondary, also everyone is full capacitated of broadcasting their personal opinions, even when it doesn’t make sense or they haven’t done it before, but I am really sure about what I want to create and accomplish as an artist.

.

Tell us about other members of your band, music producer, crew or music video director, how the song was recorded and how the music video was shot.

I am a solo artist, with that been said I do play with live musicians sometime. We are not a band, we just get together when I have a show or presentation. I work with producers worldwide, Russia, Australia, USA, France and more. The song “Emotions” my latest release was done form scratch in 2 weeks most (Music, Lyric, Production). The producer show me a rough mix of the beat about a minute and half, I have been able to write the hook and the first verse, literally two days later we got together and arranged the whole song. Now making the arrangement for the shooting of the video clip for “Emotions”.

.

.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience and your future goal.

I had been in the music business for about 3 years. I’ve experienced few things like major music conferences, workshops, giving me a better understanding about the music business.

.

Tell us what inspires you to write, compose and sing.

What influences my art; the power of my soul that allows me to connect with music in special ways, unconditional and reciprocal love. I have recently learned of the three values that we human beings see in music through a cultural studies. These values are “Use Value”, “Exchange value” and “Cultural/ Symbolic value”. The way we use and consume music and for what; the way we monetize and value music transactionally, and finally, the artistic integrity of each musical work.

I am determined to choose “Cultural/ Symbolic value”, doing it as a vehicle of beauty for its own sake. The music must always come first with a nod to my audience and their listening behaviour.

.

Tell us the secret behind making a hit song.

I had heard that some producers have a formula to write hits. My personal and kindly opinion is that there is not such formula, more than a formula is more likely to be a connection with whatever that makes you create music. More than a hit I am looking for the unseen far beyond charts and lot stuff out there.

Tell us the message you will like to pass to your fans out there.

I had started from the core more than once, but regardless of what has come through my life I never give up, whatever that is happening I either win or learn never been a loser. I was talking to my mom few days ago, I was commenting her that I was tired of starting over and over and she said boy what it’s life without starting over and over every day. I will suggest to them that they should go after what they feel it’s the right thing for them regardless of what people may think. I have a track of my upcoming album called; “Homecoming” The6ix

Chorus

Starting from the from the core digging my way out

Starting from the from the core digging my way up

Verse 2

Doing what I love doing what I understand

Regardless of the consequences, negativity and hate

Extorting you to take the right choice in your life

Why do you have to live a life my friend that you don’t like

Indeed, is up to you make a plan, sacrifice

And you will see in the end of the tunnel the light will bright

This’s my in practice advice that I hope you will take

If you fail once start over, start and start again

Tell the kind of advice you will give to an upcoming artist.

Make a plan, stick it to it. Make music that fulfills you. Try to learn most you can about the industry you are about to get it or you are already in it, and last but not less important never give up never lose faith. Keep going no matter what!

Elaborate on your music careers, albums, songs, tours, recognition or awards you might have obtained.

I recorded back in Cuba 5 albums of urban Latin music which gave me worldwide recognition been semifinalist and finalist in different genre (Hip Hop/R&B,Latin and more. “International Songwriting Competition (ISC)”. List Radio or TV Stations that are airing your songs and blogs that have featured you as well and send message to them via this platform.

Honestly I had been on the low profile until now that I have music to show. Many stations, TV and so on are playing my music. I am planning to start a radio campaign in College’s Radio etc. No blog either. No-one, you are my first submission accepted through Music Xray.

.

.

.

Tell us how you write your lyrics, compose, sing and record in the studio.

More usual I start with the hook, then the verse. Most times I write to the instrumental. I compose with the piano as well, but simple melodies and harmonies. When singing pretty much the same process, once I get the lyrics I start to play with it, placing the words into the melody. I am not sure if I am explaining everything properly sometime is very complicated to describe the creation process. I do write in Spanish, English and both combined (Spanglish). The studio is the harder part because it’s when you have to combine everything. I do enjoy each of the stages of a song creation form the beginning to the end.
