I used to love swimming in the ice cold sea in Cape Town in the middle of the winter, and I still do!

Tell us about your music career, band name, musical background, experience and skills.

I started playing and making music from an early age. It all started when my parents bought me a keyboard full of exiting sounds! About 10 years later my dad, my uncle and I built my first music studio in the cellar at home. From that moment, I couldn’t keep myself out of that room. I would go home during lunchtime at school to record for a quick 15 minutes and rush back on my bike.

The past couple of years, I’ve been composing music for short films, fashion shows and interactive music exhibitions. My recently discovered skills have been to find authentic sounds to produce music with. I’ve built my own sample library out of old classical instruments and nature percussive sounds that will be heard in many of my productions in the future!

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind your music video and the song.

The song was created as an experiment in how I could use an ocarina as the main instrument in a pop song. The flute-sounding instrument is an ocarina (quite funny looking instrument) that I recorded in the south of Sweden. The lyrics of the song reflect on how humans aren’t very different from each other after all. Our basic needs of affection in life are probably the same for all.

Tell us everything that we need to know about you as a musician and the ups and downs you have faced in the music business.

I haven’t had too any downs in the music industry yet since I’m still in the start phase of discovering it. I’ve been very lucky in meeting like-minded inspiring musicians through the years.

.

Tell us about other members of your band, music producer, crew or music video director, how the song was recorded and how the music video was shot.

The percussive sounds were recorded in the Swedish forest a winters day when the grass was crispy for recording. The vocals and guitars were recorded in my music studio in Stockholm.

.

.

.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience and your future goal.

I finished my masters in music production at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm a bit more than a year ago, and am now working almost full time as a musician and music producer in Stockholm. My biggest dream would be to hear my music in a great film!

.

.

.

Tell us what inspires you to write, compose and sing.

I mostly get my inspiration from music that I hear for the first time! I sometimes get the idea for a new song by hearing someone else song for the first time. Lyrics can also inspire me to create music that will express that feeling. I like to record “airy” vocals and add a lot of compression to make it feel present.

Tell the kind of advice you will give to an upcoming artist.

Do the best you can, and when you can’t, do it anyway!

.

.

.

Tell us how you write your lyrics, compose, sing and record in the studio.

I do it all at once. The “sound” of the production is often my main focus at first. When I’ve found something I like, I record melody ideas and slowly change them to the better. It can take months!
