Tell us your real names, country of birth, date of birth and childhood experience.

Saydi Driggers- Born in Tampa, FL, USA 05/09/1993

I fell in love with piano at age 5; my grandfather had a grand piano in his living from that I now own. I taught myself by ear, eventually having training later on. I started writing and singing around 10 years old, later picking up acoustic guitar at 12 and then bass at 19.

Jake Briggs- Born in Mesa, Arizona USA 06/22/1992

After attempting the guitar but breaking string after string, at age 8, my dad got me a drum set to annoy my mom. I taught myself by ear off of the Maroon 5 album “Songs About Jane” and formed my first band at 14. Since then I have been a part of three bands before WHSTLE

William Butler- Born in Tempe Arizona, USA 05/30/1995

At the age of 12 I begged my parents to get me guitar lessons after watching my older brother tour the country for 2 years. After a year I continued teaching myself music and grew more interest in electronic music and production.

Tell us about your music career, band name, musical background, experience and skills.

Will- About a year ago Jake and I were working with a number of vocalists, writing our own songs as well as collaborating with them. I reached out to Saydi whom I had met the year before, and she sent me a voice memo of a song. That song turned into Void (song 2 off our EP). We worked really well together and kept making new songs so the next thing we knew we were a band.

.

.

.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind your music video and the song.

We all enjoy EDM but as instrumentalists we love the feeling of playing live together. “Built For It”’s chorus reminds us of early 2000’s R&B. But by the bridge we have synth melodies and guitars. Our goal is to incorporate an electronic sound with as much power as rock and EDM combined.

.

.

.

Tell us everything that we need to know about you as a musician and the ups and downs you have faced in the music business.

We are eager and driven to grow as writers and musicians. Our album dropped two weeks ago! We can’t wait for the ups and downs to come.

.

.

.

Tell us about other members of your band, music producer, crew or music video director, how the song was recorded and how the music video was shot.

We produced our EP alongside Anthony Brant, who is also our mixing engineer. He was a key part of making the four songs cohesive since we took a different approach to each track.

.

.

.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience and your future goal.

All of us have been in the music industry for a couple years in different roles. Saydi has been an audio engineer and professional entertainer for 5 years. Will and Jake were in a previous band that had brushes with Atlantic and Republic Records in LA (but turned down the label deals due to creative differences). Being our own producers and releasing our EP independently has inspired us to maintain control and independence of all of our content.

.

.

.

Tell us what inspires you to write, compose and sing.

Will- Experimenting with new sounds and effects has always been one of my biggest inspirations writing songs.

Saydi- I’ve always had a strong connection to lyrics and music… like people I’ve never met could write a song that related to me on such a personal level. I want to do the same thing for our fans.

.

.

.

Tell us the secret behind making a hit song.

Don’t think too hard.

.

.

.

Tell us the message you will like to pass to your fans out there.

“Thanks Mom & Dad.”

.

.

.

Tell the kind of advice you will give to an upcoming artist.

Never stop learning! Embrace every person and every experience that comes your way, you never know what could add value to you as an artist and musician.

.

.

.

Elaborate on your music careers, albums, songs, tours, recognition or awards you might have obtained.

We are super proud of our first release together and are already in pre-production for our second and third albums. Right now we are preparing for several upcoming shows and avidly planning for the next year. Our fan base is rapidly growing on social media and we couldn’t be more excited for the future!

List Radio or TV Stations that are airing your songs and blogs that have featured you as well and send message to them via this platform.

98KUPD, 93.3 and Radio Phoenix (All Phoenix, AZ).

.

.

Tell us how you write your lyrics, compose, sing and record in the studio.

For this EP, it started with Saydi’s lyrics and melody being sent to Will and Jake to further produce the song. Once we had a solid song, we hit the studio with Anthony and started mixing, vocals and overdubs. Saydi recorded and edited all of her vocals alone though, still getting used to four dudes being on the other side of the booth. Especially during “Built For It” (lol).

.

.

.

Name five biggest artists that you like.

We are currently obsessed with Demi Lovato’s new album! We also like One Republic, Flume, Beyonce and Kendrick Lamar.

.

.

.

Name the artists you have collaborated with before in your songs or artists you are willing to collaborate with in the future if you have the chance to do so.

We’ve collaborated with a lot of Phoenix local bands, rappers and Gardner Cole. But we would love the chance to work with Dillon Francis and Jack Antonoff.

Tell us about your happiest day and saddest day.

As a band, the happiest day was the release day of the EP! The saddest day was when we went to shoot portions of our upcoming video at the lake, and our GoPro broke, it was freezing and we were swarmed by bugs. I had nightmares about those bugs for WEEKS.

Tell us how you will spend a million dollars.
