Tell us about your music career, your band name, musical background, experience and skills.

My artist name is Andy Wavez. It stands for being unique and finding your own wave or own sound that is different from others. I have been really into music since I could remember. I put out my first song (which was god awful) in 2015 using a cellphone recording app that captured my voice and the instrumental I was playing. Since then I have really grown, my music has really grown, and it also helps that I have finally been able to go to a professional studio and record.

.

.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind your music video and the song.

The genre of music I make is Hip Hop/Rap but I feel like I’m talented enough to really excel in any genre. “Motion” is about this girl I would always see around campus while I was in High School. I would see her at party too. One night at a party I was finally able to get the nerves to talk to her and we started dancing. After that we became really good friends, somewhat more than friends but she never really gave me a chance.

Tell us everything that we need to know about you as a musician and the ups and downs you have faced in the music business.

I have faced a lot of ups and downs while doing this music thing. A lot of people don’t really seem to understand or really comprehend why I’m trying to make music my future. My hometown is full of people that don’t really support people chasing their dreams, full of simple minded people that really never understand. I feel sometimes like this whole town holding me back. With that said, I just seem to focus on myself and on my music and not really focus much on the negative side. I know one day all this hard work will pay off.

.

.

.

Tell us about other members of your band, music producer, crew or music video director, how the song was recorded and how the music video was shot.

I have 4 really super close homies that helped me out with a lot of the business and video shooting side of this music. Without them I probably wouldn’t be here at the position I am. They gave me really good life advice and helped me to stay focused. They have really been here for me since the whole thing started. Shout out; Rob, Cole, Dylan and Evan. The song was recorded in a studio in the downtown Charlotte area of North Carolina. The hook just kind of came to me when I found the beat. Verse one and verse 2 combined took me about 2 hours to write and then we recorded, mixed and mastered the song the same day.

.

.

.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience and your future goal.

I have been in the music for about 3 years. I put my first song out in 2015 and from there everything has just grown. I plan on being one of the biggest superstars the industry has ever seen in the future and nothing less.

.

.

.

.

Tell us what inspires you to write, compose and sing.

I get inspired by life, other artists, and honestly just music itself. I love writing music and making music and I know one day it is all going to pay off. That’s what keeps me going and it keeps me writing songs.

.

.

.

Tell us the secret behind making a hit song.

The secret to making a hit song is by just being yourself. Don’t try and copy someone else style that has been done before. Be you and create your own sound that nobody has heard. At the same time you have to put in the work every time you step into that studio. The sky is the limit when you; be yourself.

.

.

.

Tell us the message you will like to pass to your fans out there.

I would like to tell my fans to just be themselves. Find what makes you happy and don’t let someone take that away from you. Cut out the negativity from your life and just live. When you try to ‘be yourself’ other people are going to hate but it doesn’t matter because you are winning.

.

.

.

Tell the kind of advice you will give to an upcoming artist.

If you are an upcoming artist make sure you just work hard and find ways to grow within the industry. Study flows, study music, study the lifestyle and don’t let people tell you that you’re going to be less than what you wanna be. Have that mindset of being the greatest.

.

.

.

Elaborate on your music careers, albums, songs, tours, recognition or awards you might have obtained.

I have never dropped an album or ever been on a tour because I am just not that big yet. I feel like 2018 is when everything is going to take off. I have dropped a few EPs and I have done over at least 70 songs the past 3 years. A lot of those songs have been deleted just because they sound awful.

List Radio or TV Stations that are airing your songs and blogs that have featured you as well and send message to them via this platform.

I have tried to promote my songs on the radio but the stations never seem to give me any feedback or respond to me. This is also the first blog I have ever been on so shout out to you guys.

.

.

.

Tell us how you write your lyrics, compose, sing and record in the studio.

I feel like when I am in the studio I am a completely different person. When I’m in the booth I’m just focused and ready. My homies will tell you that my work ethic in the studio is like nothing else. I am so proud to be able to create and put my ideas into a song. When I hear a beat I just freestyle the hook to it until I have something that makes sense or matches the type of beat I am recording on. After that I go into the booth, record the hook. After the hook is recorded I write my first and second verse and then record both of them. After the verses are recorded I freestyle the adlibs and then double or triple over the hook and other parts of the song. When that is done, me and my engineer edit, mix and master the song.

Tell us about your happiest day and saddest day.

My saddest day is when my dad passed away in 2016 due to cancer. I pretty much watched him pass away in front of my eyes. My happiest day is the first time I ever stepped in a professional recording studio. It gave me a sense of like wow I’m really doing this.

.

.

Tell us how you will spend a million dollars.

If I had a million dollars I would be spending it on tours and shows, going to the studio every single day recording music, beats from some of the biggest producers, features from some of the biggest artists in the industry, and most importantly helping out my family, my homies and my homies’ families.
