Boris Jelic

Tell us your real names, country of birth, date of birth and childhood experience.
My name is Boris Jelic, I’m 20 years old and I was born in Stockholm. My childhood was kinda messy since we were moving around a lot.

.

Tell us about your music career, band name, musical background, experience and skills.
I always knew that music was something I’d work with in the future since it’s a really big passion for me. I was studying music production for three years at high school and I learned a lot. My artist name is my name. I never wanted to change it either since I want to be as honest with my art and music as possible. Songwriting is probably my strongest side.

.

.

.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind your music video and the song.
My genre is different from any artist out there. I call it Gay HipHop. Mixing strong beats with my personality. I also have pop songs since it’s my favorite genre out there. The idea behind my song ”Tea” came from conversations I had with my dad, always telling me rumors my family have heard about me and stuff like that, while literally drinking tea.

.

.

Tell us everything that we need to know about you as a musician and the ups and downs you have faced in the music business.
The biggest issue I’ve had in the music industry has been working with the wrong kind of people, people who don’t really want what’s best for you and stuff like that. I’ve had wrong versions put on streaming sites and stuff like that because of their fault.

.

.

.

Tell us about other members of your band, music producer, crew or music video director, how the song was recorded and how the music video was shot.
I don’t have a video for it yet, but maybe soon.

.

.

.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience and your future goal.
I released my first single ”Fuck You Hoe” in 2015 when I was 18 and I’ve had a pretty solid career in Sweden. Been doing a lot of gigs and performances but also been featured on the Radio. My future goal is to be working with music as a full time job.

.

.

.

Tell us what inspires you to write, compose and sing.
Basically my life. I’ve been through and I’m still going through a lot. There’s always something happening. I always choose adventure, that’s why.

.

.

.

Tell us the secret behind making a hit song.
Probably to not try that hard. It should come naturally. Every song you make can’t sound like a hit song. You have to make mediocre ones as well just to have a balance and actually focus on the art instead.

.

.

.

Tell us the message you will like to pass to your fans out there.
To always be themselves, brave and fearless.

.

.

.

Tell the kind of advice you will give to an upcoming artist.
The passion for your music and art should be the main focus, not to sell out and produce stuff you’re not proud of just because it sells.

.

.

.

Elaborate on your music careers, albums, songs, tours, recognition or awards you might have obtained.
I’ve released 4 different songs.
Fuck You Hoe
Tea
Rebel
Not Afraid To Die
And they have over 100.000 streams combined.

Tell us how you write your lyrics, compose, sing and record in the studio.
I usually write my songs in the night, I always get more creative, don’t really know why. I always come up with what I want the song to be about, then the title and then I just start improvising a melody and I write some cool lyrics. I record all of my songs by myself since I can’t really relax that good while recording with someone else, but it’s something I’m working on. So I send the vocals to the producer I’m working with and we figure things out from there.

Name five biggest artists that you like.

.

Name the artists you have collaborated with before in your songs or artists you are willing to collaborate with in the future if you have the chance to do so.
I would love to work with less mainstream artists like Nadia Tehran, Beatrice Eli, Nina Nesbitt, Girli but also with my biggest inspirations and idols like Britney, Tove Lo, Marilyn Manson etc.

Tell us about your happiest day and saddest day.
I have a lot of both of them so I can’t really pick one. I’m always the happiest person alive when I’m with my friends. We always make each other smile and we always support each other. Although I was pretty happy all the time while living 5 weeks in Berlin. I can’t really think of a specific sad day, I’ve been through a lot of bad things in my life but I choose to be a happy person and I choose not to have sad days.

.

Tell us how you will spend a million dollars.

I would literally invest everything in my music and obviously send some to charity and help the LGBTQ community in any way I could.
