Tell us how you come about the song.

The song stemmed from my previous relationship, I wrote it as a reminder of my bad decisions, always running away from everything when things get tough.

Tell us about you as a person outside the musical world.

My life is the musical world ha-ha if not then it’s driving towards that. I’m always working hard to reach my goals. Some might say I’m boring because I’m always working on something and never really resting.

.

.

.

Tell us about you as a musician.

I’d say as a musician I stand for equality, which is one of the reasons why I don’t mention gender in my lyrics, I will never use certain words for example “She” or “Her” because I want everyone to be able to relate to my music. I’m all about love and light, even after the negative and emotional situations, there’s always time for love and always room to shine light on any issue.

.

.

.

Tell us how you manage other activities with your musical career.

It can be a struggle at times, I don’t always make time for myself, but I am working on balancing everything out. I just go with the flow really.

.

.

.

Tell us your experience as a musician.

I studied music performance in college and I’ve been singing since I was able to talk ha-ha I released a track called “Lies” in April which is basically my first release, so it’s all still new to me at the moment, I’m loving the journey and growth so far.

.

.

Tell us five artists you can regard as legends.

Michael Jackson, Brandy, Frank Ocean, Kendrick Lamar and Jah Cure.

.

.

.

Tell us the names of the media that have supported you so far.

Iluvlive, Wonderland Magazine, Vulture Hound and GRUNGECAKE , there have been quite a few so far. BBC Introducing Kent has shown a lot of support too.

.

.

.

Tell us your future plans pertaining music.

My EP releases on 21st December so I’m looking forward to that, I’ve already started on new music for the second EP, I’m going to keep releasing music and doing live performances. Waiting for that number one single ha-ha.

.

.

.

Tell us what motivates you to write songs.

Life really, whether it could be situations I go through myself or other people’s situations. Soon as I hear a gripping melody it triggers so many emotions that the words just come through.

.

.

.

Tell us the names of the artists you have worked with and the ones you will like to work with in the future.

I haven’t worked with any artists yet, I would love to work with Rihanna and Pharrell Williams, the list could go on forever because there are so many.

.

.

.

Tell us what you think about creativity and originality in music.

I think creativity should always come from the heart, I always go with what I love, if it doesn’t resignate with me then I don’t go through with it. The originality does take time though, but if you stay true to yourself when making music then it will show.

.

.

.

Tell us the reason you are into music.

I grew up with music and it’s always been something I’ve enjoyed, when I need to escape from things I go straight to music, it’s almost like a release.

Tell us your view on old school music and new school music in terms of preference.

I love all of it, if it wasn’t for the influences of old school there would be no new school I guess. When I’m writing new music I stay away from listening to new songs and I’ll only listen to old school music until I’ve finished the writing process.

.

.

.

Tell us your most memorable day as an artist.

When my music first played on the radio in April, it was a step forward in the right direction for me, a confirmation to let me know I’m on the correct path.

.

.

.

Tell us your genre of music.

I’d say it’s primarily R&B but I do like to mix it up by using pop or electronic elements, I think the more music I make, the more experimental it will become. I love to try out new sounds.

.

.

.

Tell us how you write and record your songs.

I usually start off with the beat, my producer The Kode will create the beat for me and then we will sit together and tweak it until we are both happy with it, I then work on the vocal melody. Soon as I have the melody I will then write the lyrics, it just grows from there.

.

.

.

Tell us what you will do for the people if you found yourself in a position of power.

I would try my best to shut down all the animal slaughter houses, might sound extreme to some people but I feel it’s the way forward.
