Sean Roane

Tell us your real names, country of birth, date of birth and childhood experience.

My name is Sean Roane. I was born July 17, 1990 and I grew up in Egg Harbor City, NJ. I lived with my mother and grandmother. I always wished I was from California.

Tell us about your music career, band name, musical background, experience and skills.

Since grade school I’ve been good at writing and I was always a huge rap fan. I wrote my first song at age 10. I put away my musical dreams when I got to high school because I wanted to be a football player for the first time. It wasn’t until I was a 21 year old in college that I began to take rap serious.  I dropped my first mixtape called “Affordable Excellence” in August 2013. Since then, I’ve put out a few singles. At 27, I’ve got plenty of material and I’m ready to be more consistent with putting out quality music.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind your music video and the song.

When I first started rapping seriously, I really only talked about relationships, sex and partying. This time around I’m hitting them with a little more substance. I want to get the listener emotional and I want them to think. In my song “I’ma Get It”, I’m talking about how I fulfill my dreams and not spend my life working a bullshit job.

Tell us everything that we need to know about you as a musician and the ups and downs you have faced in the music business.

Besides making music, I work as security for Forman Mills and I’m a substitute teacher in the Atlantic City School District. I want my future fans to see the real me and witness my growth as an artist and a human being. I haven’t been consistent with my music and that is why I still work 2 day jobs. I’m tired of that shit. I feel it’s hard to get people to listen to my music at times, but I know I have quality works and eventually people will catch on. All I need is 1,000 true fans.

Tell us about other members of your band, music producer, crew or music video director, how the song was recorded and how the music video was shot.

I usually rap over my boy Brizzy’s beats. He lives in New Orleans and occasionally (when he’s not procrastinating too) he’ll send me some fire that he made on the Maschine.

.

.

.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience and your future goal.

I’ve been doing this since 2011-2012. I haven’t really had any huge accolades, but one time this bartender in Egg Harbor heard my mixtape and gave me a few free drinks one night.  My only goals are to build a cult following and work with my favorite producers Cardo and Zaytoven.

.

.

.

Tell us what inspires you to write, compose and sing.

Mary Jane and my life’s experiences.

.

.

.

Tell us the secret behind making a hit song.

The song has to be able to evoke emotion. Whatever emotion it is.

.

.

.

Tell us the message you will like to pass to your fans out there.

I want my fans to know that they came to this life for a reason and that you don’t have to look to no one else for answers but yourself. Learn about yourself and learn to love yourself. Accept yourself.

.

.

.

Tell the kind of advice you will give to an upcoming artist.

Be consistent. Talk about real shit that’s going on with you.

.

.

.

Elaborate on your music careers, albums, songs, tours, recognition or awards you might have obtained.

My first and only mixtape was so dope I might put it out again when I get known.

List Radio or TV Stations that are airing your songs and blogs that have featured you as well and send message to them via this platform.

No one! I did waste $500 thinking Coast2Coast Mixtapes would get my music exposure. Big mistake!

.

.

.

Tell us how you write your lyrics, compose, sing and record in the studio.

I outline my songs like a paper or an essay, I write a hook and then I take forever with the verses.

.

.

.

Name five biggest artists that you like.

Jay Z, Jadakiss, Cam’ron, Fabolous and Curren$y.

.

.

.

Name the artists you have collaborated with before in your songs or artists you are willing to collaborate with in the future if you have the chance to do so.

I haven’t done anything with anyone, but I want to do a few songs with LA rapper G Perico.

Tell us about your happiest day and saddest day.

My happiest day was when I got high off weed for the first time in Goodwell, Oklahoma. The saddest day was everyday that I had to go to school in America’s evil system.

.

Tell us how you will spend a million dollars.

I’m paying off all debts, I may get a regular crib and make some dope ass music.
