Tell us about your music career, band name, musical background, experience and skills.

Freelance producer/songwriter since 2004.  Touring musician predominately playing electric guitar in groups such as The Veronicas, Ryan Shaw and Oh Honey. The name Modern Whale came to me seemingly out of thin air.

.

.

.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind your music video and the song.

The genre is hard to clarify as Modern Whale is probably too pop to be indie and too indie to be pop.  The video was inspired by Akira Kurosawa’s 1948 film “Drunken Angel”.  “Kill The Flame” depicts the inner turmoil of a love lost and the resounding pain left over.

.

Tell us everything that we need to know about you as a musician and the ups and downs you have faced in the music business.

I’m passionate and driven to be creative, it’s uncontrollable! Traveling the world and playing in faraway places such as Japan and Australia, also playing venues like Madison Square Garden.  The downs predominately reside in being able to hear the word NO or that something isn’t good enough. You have to have thick skin.

.

.

.

Tell us about other members of your band, music producer, crew or music video director, how the song was recorded and how the music video was shot.

I produced and recorded the song.  The video was shot by Shepherd Flashman Lowry. It was Lowry’s direction and inspiration that resulted in the Kill The Flame’s video.

.

.

.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience and your future goal.

At 16 I played my first proper show in a band called Virus in a club on the Queens/Nassua County borderline and from that moment on I was hooked and my life revolved only around music. My goal is to have the music connect with others.
