Tell us about yourself as an artist.
My artist name is Zeke Avery, how the name Zeke Avery came about was my real nickname is Zeke because my father named me after his all-time favorite basketball player Isiah Thomas (the legend).  The Avery part came from me just thinking of a name that could flow with Zeke and I kept seeing the name Avery on articles online, through advertisements, and even on my social medias so I took that as a sign and decided to name myself Zeke Avery. Who I am as an artist is a true Rock star who came from nothing to something.  I’m very creative, unique, catchy, precise, and grounded with my artistry.

Tell us about the genre of your music.
My genre of music is undefined I’m like a mixture of all genres honestly. I can make any type of record I usually do what feels good, or I know others will love or can relate too.  I never fabricate I tell the truth and keep the energy at all-time high.

Tell us about the story behind your song.
Well the story behind “Henny Talk” is hilarious because the song was by accident. I was working on another record of mine that is unreleased called “Tweaking” and I kept messing up on my ad-libs while sipping Hennessy, and every time I missed a ad-lib I kept saying “That be that Henny Talk” lol. That’s when my producer YNGM and my promotions manager/uncle “Serious” said I should make that phrase a song. So I told my producer (YNGM) to make me a beat and I’ll see if it fits the vibe. He literally cooked up the beat right in the studio in less than 10mins and surprisingly it fit the vibe I was looking for to write the song. I wrote the song in less than 15mins and recorded it and here we are today.

.

.

Tell us about the challenges you are facing as a musician.

The challenges I face as a musician/artist is lack of true support system. I feel the people won’t give my music a chance because they think my lane of music isn’t original when it is. Also being in the type of music lane I specialize in, people think it’s played out which hurts me a lot. So trying to get my music heard or seen is very hard at this moment, but I will continue to push my sound and style no matter what.

.

.

.

Tell us about the recording and production of the song.

The recording of the song was done by my engineer Tommy Smilez and production done by super producer YNGM. These guys are my one two punch combo that help bring my sound to that level of energy. Tommy has a very distinctive ear in which he knows vocals down to the nitty gritty, along with YNGM where he has mastered 808’s, beat variation, and structure of a beat.

Tell us the names of blogs, radio or TV stations that have supported you so far.

Tell us more about your music career, experience and future goals.

I’ve been recording music since I was 13yrs old, and I mean I’ve experienced all types of ups and downs. I use to go by the name of Bugz Malone and before that it was Ya Boy Bugz.  I’ve pushed out two collaboration Mixtapes under Ya Boy Bugz, one collaboration mixtape under Bugz Malone, and one solo mixtape under Bugz Malone. My future goals aren’t something I want to share with the world because I don’t want to block my blessings by speaking on them I’d rather just accomplish them just know I will be financially free.
