I wrote this song about my parents but it’s become a song about trying to communicate with someone you love.

I worked with Doug Schadt (who has produced Maggie Rogers, Wet) and Andrew Campbell, who leads the band Ursae. My friend Jesse Aicher from Prelow helped me to write some of the lyrics.

I’ve played in a bunch of different bands for over 10 years but this is the first solo project I’ve embarked on.

I recently became more confident in singing, but I’ve always loved making beats with re sampled and ambient textures.

Tell us the instruments put together in this song. 
We made this song primarily in the computer, and sampled elements of a previous version of the song to make some of the ambient textures found throughout. The big synthesizer sound at the end is actually my voiced layered several times and processed with a lot of effects.

Riding bikes, listening to podcasts, spending time with family, and taking photographs.

This song came together working with Doug Schadt at his studio in Brooklyn. I brought a demo version that we expanded upon.
