Tell us your real names, country of birth and childhood experience.
My name is Justin Hattabaugh and I’m from the United States. I had a pretty average childhood but my mindset was always just trying to be the best at whatever I was doing.

.

.

.

Tell us your academic qualification.
I graduated High School and now I’m attending college at the University of Arkansas Fort Smith.

.

.

.

Tell us about your music career, band name, musical background, experience and skills.

I started making music when I was in ninth grade. I fell in love with writing music so much that I decided that I absolutely had to start recording. Now I’m at a point where I’m just trying to be consistent and focus on building myself.

.

.

.

Tell us about your genre, concept and idea behind your music video and the song.

When rapping I always have a very hungry mind set. I wanted this song to be very straight forward and the whole idea behind it was to just talk my shit. I feel like not enough people are really confident enough to step out like that.

.

.

.

Tell us how to run a record label independently and successfully based on your experience as an artist.
I don’t have a lot of experience just yet but one thing that I have learned is that you must be patient and build yourself how you want. A lot of people like to fall into trends and follow what’s popping but I think it’s key to stay true to yourself as an artist.

.

.

.

Tell us how you are promoting your music.
Just reaching out to blogs and using social media.

.

.

.

Tell us what makes you happy and what makes you sad.
I would say seeing people I love accomplish goals in their own life is what makes me happiest. Seeing loved ones struggle with depression and drug habits really gets to me more than anything.

.

.

.

Explain clearly the story or concept behind the song.
When I started writing this song it was like three in the morning and I was riding through the city with one of my good friends and we were just vibing. It was cold as hell outside and it was just a really dark and grimy vibe so I wanted to put that into words.

.

.

.

Give us links to where the song can be purchased.
This song is completely free as of right now.

.

.

.

Tell us about other members of your band, music producer, crew or music video director, how the song was recorded and how the music video was shot.
I’m a solo artist and I have my own little set up that I use to record with. The name of the producer is 4K and I knew I wanted to use one of his beats because he always has the grimy beats which is what I was looking for.

.

.

.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience and your future goal.
I’ve been making music for about four or five years now and it has been one big learning process. Trying to come up in this industry is tough but it teaches you that you must be patient and believe in yourself even when others around you don’t. I don’t know what the future holds but I know I just want to build the best fan base possible and keep releasing solid content.

.

.

.

Tell us what makes you unique from others.
I think I’m unique in the sense that I don’t follow what anyone else is doing and I don’t fall into these trends that a lot of artists fall into. I don’t go into a song thinking about what kind of music other people are making because then it just doesn’t seem authentic.

.

.

.

Tell us your weakness and strength pertaining music.
I would say my weakness is probably consistently releasing content but I’m working on that. My favorite process of making a song is the writing and I would say that it’s probably my most mastered area of music.

.

.

.

List your five favourite songs including the artists.
I probably couldn’t give you an all-time top five but as of right now it would have to be:

“I Found Keisha” by Dave East,

“Sing About Me” by Kendrick Lamar,

“Jazz” by Mick Jenkins,

“No Comparison” by A Boogie wit da Hoodie,

“Still Waiting” by Royce da 5’9, Nick Grant and Elzhi.

.

.

.

Tell us your position on “DIY” Do It Yourself” and signing to a major label.

I think doing it yourself probably feels more rewarding but I don’t think it’s such a bad thing to sign to a label as long as you have leverage when doing so.

.

.

.

Tell us other activities you will like to pursue apart from music.
I’d like to get into writing books.

.

.

.

Tell us about gaining the confidence to sing in front of a large crowd for the first time.
I’ve never performed for a large crowd.

.

.

.

Tell us the best way to make money in the music business.
The best way to make money is to make yourself the brand and to understand that you don’t need any labels to make money.

.

.

.

Narrate your recording experience.
My recording experience consists of a lot of patience and a lot of water on deck.
