Tell us everything will need to know about you.

I’m from a small town in Southern Wisconsin, USA. I grew up fishing, hunting, and spending as much time as I could. When I found my passion for music, I started combining my love of nature with my writing. That was the idea behind my debut album, “Whispered on the Wind”.

.

.

State your favourite genre of music and your reason.

I really love the blues. I heard somebody say that it’s just a simpler drunk version of jazz. I agree.

.

.

.

Tell us your experience as a musician.

I was trained classically in Musical Theater. Around the same time, I started learning to play the guitar and writing songs. When I couldn’t decide what the best way to pursue professional theater was, I took a year off and backpacked across Europe as a professional street performer. I honed my craft and wrote enough songs, that I can’t stop playing them now.

.

.

.

Tell us the theme of your song.

This song, “Whispered on the Wind”, is the title track from my debut album. It’s about rediscovering the importance of letting go of the distractions found when living in a big city close to mainstream society.

.

.

.

Name the people behind your success and thank them on this platform.

I’d like to thank my childhood guitar and piano teachers, my vocal coaches, and every venue owner that has believed in me enough to share their space with me.

.

.

.

Tell us about your future goals.

My constant goal is to better my music by finding new ways to share my ideas in a more honest and humble way.

.

.

.

Elaborate on how you think your music is inspiring your fans.

I’d like to think that my music inspires the listener to acknowledge the simple happiness.

.

.

.

Explain the changes you have observed so far in the music industry.

I’ve noticed a lot more silicone in the charts. Music is so accessible now, that it’s still pretty easy to find amazing new music. Sadly, you just have to look other places than the mainstream media to find it.

.

.

.

State the artists you cherish most and your reason.

Of course the artists that I grew up with will always have a special place in my heart: The Eagles, Van Morrison, Ray Charles, and Eric Clapton. But many new loves of mine have inspired me just as much: Ben Howard, Mumford and Sons, The Lumineers, Passenger, and Frank Turner.

Elaborate on how you develop your lyrics.

I write most my lyrics first before I write music. Often times I’ll start with an interesting phrase or idea stuck in my head for a week or two. Then I’ll sit down at a cafe and write a few pages, and sort through which ones are right for the song.

.

.

.

Tell us if you enjoy collaborating with other artists or just singing as a solo artist.

I love playing with a full band. I love when other players share bits of their personality in my music to make something much bigger than just my own energy.

.

.

.

Brief us your opinion on making music that makes people to dance or making the kind of music with genuine message that inspires them.

I think this question is regarding commercial songwriting vs. honest personal writing. I really believe that there is a place for both, but I know that I have no interest in making any art that could be called anything but truthful. Sadly, much of today’s “commercial” music is less than honest in my eyes.

.

.

.

Elaborate on how you develop your melody and instrumentation.

Finding new melodies and instrumentation is just another way of meditating to me. I like to spend late nights outside by the lake exploring different ways I can express my energy though my instrument.

.

.

.

Go into detail on the recording process of this song.

The drums, bass, acoustic guitar and vocals of this song were recorded in an old barn. From there we added the other instruments in studios all across Southern Wisconsin.

.

.

Discuss your music performance.

A lot of my live performance is based in storytelling. I want my audience to know where the songs come from. I also want them to get to know me as much as they can.
