Tell us about yourself.

My name is Lewis Frost. I’m 26 years young, born in London but spent my teen life by the beach in Newquay. I love to surf, play football and most of all sing and write. I am big on crystals and metaphysics and all things astrology. I currently live in Birmingham and am a father to a beautiful girl of 5. I have a strong passion for music and dance. I want a successful career so my daughter can grow up and maintain her free spirit.

.

Tell us about yourself as an artist.

Confident and passionate about my craft; my ideal as an artist is to resonate with my audience through lyrics, voice and the mood of my songs and to be a positive role model, giving people a good feeling, a rhythm they can move to and lyrics that move them.

.

.

.

Tell us about the genre of your music.

Well if I had to categorize it I would say funk pop with a dash of soul.

.

.

.

Tell us about the story behind your song.

It’s mainly about my personal experience of reacting to a break up but I always feel it’s a metaphor for never learning from past relationships.

.

.

.

Tell us about the problems you are facing as a musician.

The biggest challenge for me is getting my music heard and building a reputation as an artist since there is so much competition. I have to find out what makes me unique within this industry and play to my strengths when performing.

.

.

.

Tell us about the recording and production of the song.

It was a great time, for this song I already had the lyrics down so it was really finding a melody that matched the mood of the song and the producer Chris was a great help with finding the right synths and guitar chords to fit the song.

.

.

.

Tell us more about your music career, experience and future goals.

I’m fairly new to the industry. I have performed at gigs and covers across the United Kingdom over the last couple years but have recently been focusing a lot of my time and energy on my music and developing myself as an artist. My goal is to headline festivals and hold big music events with amazing dancing and lighting to accompany me and to make it a spectacular show.

.

.

.

Brief us what inspires you to write, compose and sing.

My daughter, my girlfriend, my parents and the feeling I get when something that I know will resonate with others because it resonates with me and I think that’s important because we all experience the same feelings in different contexts but our emotions are all the same.

.

.

.

Brief us the top-secret behind making a hit song.

A fat bass and a hard hook or something meaningful.

.

.

.

Tell the kind of advice you will give to an upcoming artist.

Stay focused as an individual and don’t follow what other people do.

.

.

.

Discuss at length your music careers, albums, songs, tours, recognition or awards you might have obtained.

This is my first album, before this I obtained a Dance degree and I feel like that could be an award for good dancing.

.

.

.

Tell us how you write your lyrics, compose, sing and record in the studio.

I usually create a melody or hook using my voice and then build from there with the lyrics; this helps when going into the studio as it can grow and expand naturally once you get the foundation of the song down.

.

.

.

Name the artists you are willing to collaborate with.

Tom Misch or Kaytranada.

Tell us about your happiest day and saddest day.

Happiest day was the day my daughter was born and being responsible for another life changes you for sure. Saddest day was probably when my uncle past away last year from lung cancer; he was only 60 and it was very hard especially for my Mum.

.

.

.

Tell us how you will spend a million dollars.

First I’d get a home with heated floors and a sauna, then I would invest the rest into something that would make a positive impact on the earth maybe hemp bottled water or something because I know plastic is a major problem.

.

.

.

Tell us about your song.

My song is called “Hurricane” and it’s about getting blowing smoke to deal with emotional pain after a break up.

.

.

.

Tell us how you manage other activities with your music career.

Organizing my time and ensuring my priorities are straight. I always try to put music first and ensure I have a daily routine so that no matter what I always do what is important, no matter what other responsibilities I have that day.

.

.

.

State the official date of release.

9th February 2018.

.

.

.

Abel Star is my artist name and it refers to Abel from Abel and Cain in the Bible and the Star makes it stand out in the dark.

.

.

.

State the title of the song and the meaning.

The song is called “Hurricane” and it’s a metaphor for the way you feel after you’ve had a break up where all you want to do is loose yourself to try and forget the pain.
