Tell us about yourself as an artist.

I’ve been a musician for 11-12 years; I started off playing drums in hardcore and metal bands and after high school I transitioned into hip-hop and rap.

.

.

.

Tell us about the genre of your music.

Well, it’s hip-hop. There’s a lot that can be said about the genre, but I’d say the most important thing about it is that it’s a vehicle for a direct communication to listeners. You can embellish it as much as you want, but in the final analysis, it’s a focused message.

.

.

.

Tell us about the story behind your song.

BODIES is based on a lot of interactions I’ve had with people that you could consider as “fake” or disingenuous. It kind of touches on the nature of people like that and the influence they can have on you and your mental and emotional state; particularly after you’ve suffered their “backstabbing.”

.

.

.

Tell us about the problems you are facing as a musician.

The number one problem I find is time. Making time in between the hustles that all artists have to run in order to hone the craft. That’s the most difficult part; at least for now. I’d say that getting the music out there can be a challenge, but it’s more of a learning curve. You learn what to do with the music in order to get it in front of as many people as possible. That can be replicated in my opinion.

.

.

.

Tell us about the recording and production of the song.

On this project I worked with two very talented producers: Maze of Mind beats out of Moscow, Russia and $ean Friday. I actually did the arrangement of the tracks and Maze of Mind and $ean collaborated on the production of it. Beyond that, I wrote and recorded all the vocals that appear on BODIES and on the new project, TRIAD.

.

.

.

List the names of blogs, radio or TV stations that have supported you so far.

So far HipHopHQ (and BroadTube) has reposted a couple records, but beyond that it’s just been reposted by various social media platforms by the fans I’ve been blessed to have so far.

.

.

.

Tell us more about your music career, experience and future goals.

The end goal of course has commercial success as part of it, but more than that the target is to be able to inspire and uplift people into feeling like they can take on many challenges that the world is facing today. Be that their own personal battles or national and national ones; whatever they are.

.

.

.

Brief us what inspires you to write, compose and sing.

The fun and thrill of creating new music is about 50% and the other 50% is seeing the absolute insanity in the world today and feeling the need to encourage others to see it too. That’s not to say that I know everything in any scope or whatever, but I guess I’d say the need to encourage conversation about these topics pushes me hard.

.

.

.

Brief us the top-secret behind making a hit song.

I’ll let you know once I’ve done it haha. I would say the best advice I have on that is to make it as simple as possible while creating as much of an emotional impact as possible. I’ve found that tracks that do that well, usually are well liked by the majority of listeners.

.

.

.

Tell the kind of advice you will give to an upcoming artist.

I understand upcoming as someone who is on their grind and is making moves to get to where they want to be. The only advice I have is:

a) Ignore the criticism

b) Persist, persist, persist.

The only way you can fail is to fail to persist in your given course. Keep going and you’ll get there as far as I’m concerned.

.

.

.

Discuss at length your music careers, albums, songs, tours, recognition or awards you might have obtained.

Well, I’ve just released a new EP called TRIAD on Feb 25, 2018. That’s on all streaming platforms and the two producers that I mentioned above were an absolute integral part of putting it together. I think it’s a pretty solid little tape, but far as career goes, that’s still transforming as much as anyone else is I think. No tours, no recognition yet but, we’ll see!

.

.

.

Tell us how you write your lyrics, compose, sing and record in the studio.

I just pull up the beat and open a notepad or text editor and just typing whatever the beat is making me feel. If it’s an angry type beat or something I’ll sort of get into that mindset and maybe talk about something that pisses me off or whatever, I’d do the same for something that makes me feel nostalgic or whatever the emotion.

I would definitely say that writing the hook of your record first is very helpful to organizing the verses and the rest of the direction of the actual track.

.

.

.

Name the artists you are willing to collaborate with.

Man, I’d collaborate with anyone who is serious about their craft. As far as the big fish go I’d rock with; Kendrick, Night Lovell, $uicideboys$, Logic, Nothing, Nowhere. That’s what I had off the top.

Tell us about your happiest day and saddest day.

Got a vivid memory of being picked up by my pops in elementary school and he surprised me with a Transformer toy. That was probably the happiest.

Saddest was getting lost in Central Park for a few hours. Was real tough haha.

.

.

.

Tell us how you will spend a million dollars.

Pay bills. Secure family’s retirement and future. Donate some to charitable organizations. Invest the rest.

.

.

.

Discuss music promotion and how you are boosting your fan base.

At this point I’m using mostly Instagram. Now that they’ve changed their algorithm; paid advertising is really the only way to get exposure. I’m doing those, submitting to blogs and just pushing getting streams up for features in playlists, radio, etc.

Also exploring ReverbNation and their large selection of music competitions for submission. Not sure about that one yet.

.

.

.

Tell us how you manage other activities with your music career.

It’s a hustle for sure. I work a lot and music comes in the evening. It’s definitely a challenge juggling it with family, bills, social life, whatever, but if you want something done you know who to give it to.

.

.

.

State the official date of release.

Official date of release is February 25, 2018.

.

.

.

State your artist’s name and elaborate on it.

When I was in high school my friend and I were in an audio-visual class and we had aliases for our characters that we played when we filmed. Can’t remember what it was but I just picked Osiris Marshall. Think the Osiris came from one of my all-time favorite bands Born of Osiris. I think I just adapted it further from there.

.

.

.

State the title of the song and the meaning.

The title of the song is BODIES. And sort of like above it’s basically about how fake people tend to all follow a similar pattern in betraying you and generally trying to work against you. It sort of touches on that element of social interactions and giving them the middle finger so to speak.

.

.

.

State the title of the album and the reason for picking the title.
The title of the album is TRIAD. Originally this was a dual project between me and Maze of Mind beats and we were set on the name DUALITY, but eventually I recruited $ean Friday to do some serious mixing and production work on the record and in the end, it was clear that it was very much all three of us invested into the project. From there we decided to call it “TRIAD.”
