Name the artists that have influenced you so far.

Michael Jackson, Justin Timberlake and Bruno Mars.

.

.

.

Mention the name of the artist you can regard as the “Greatest Of All Time”.

Michael Jackson.

.

.

.

Discuss composition.

All of the composition within my songs (instrumentals, melodies, lyrics) is inspired by real life situations. Both my producer and I write completely based off how we are feeling at the moment.

.

.

.

Elaborate on this song.

The song ‘Trinity’ is mainly about how we are independent and that we can do this on our own because we have all of the tools in place to make a career out of this.

.

.

.

Rate the social media and tell us the platform that works best for you in promoting your music.

Social media is a 50/10. It is necessary in promoting anything. Currently, Instagram is the platform that works best for me.

.

.

.

State the areas that need improvement in the music industry.

I believe overall exposure for independent artists needs the biggest improvement, whether that’s on major radio stations, major playlists, etc. To the point where all artists (label or independent) are treated equally and all given an equal opportunity to excel in this industry. We are getting closer to that point, but there is still more work to be done.

.

.

.

Explain how you are getting your songs to stores and getting it to fans.

I am currently working with the distributor Distrokid to get my music in stores.

.

.

.

Tell us how you prepare yourself for a live performance or show.

Before every live show, I will go through vocal warmups, stretches and getting myself pumped. I like to get the heart rate up.

.

.

.

Tell us your opinion on frequent releasing of singles or just an album in a while.

Releasing singles helps build up to the album and teases the audience/listeners more than having them to wait for an album. If you wait too long, they will forget about you, especially if you are an up and coming artist. Consistency and relevancy is the key.

.

.

.

Mention the name of the artist you will be glad to see the live performance.

Michael Jackson if he were alive.

.

.

.

Tell us the theme of most of your songs.

Women, personal life, money, power, success and love.

.

.

.

Discuss your recording.

This is the first track we recorded for this album. It makes you feel good and gets you pumped up.

.

.

.

Tell us how boring or exciting the music career can be.

There is nothing boring about it. It is super exciting. Everything from the creation process, shows and connecting with fans.

.

.

.

State your artist’s name and elaborate on it.

Mansuki. It was social media nickname on Vine and I decided to bring it back as my artist name.

.

.

.

State the title of the song and the meaning.

Trinity. The meaning behind it is about my Trinity and what I bring to the industry. The influence, the look and the product (music).

Hot Dizzy

Joshua “Hot Dizzy” Miller was born in Great Lakes, Illinois until he moved to Indianapolis, Indiana at a young age. Today, he writes hip hop/rap music. He is currently working on his first Album titled “Handle Ur Biz”.

Hot Dizzy isn’t about the false representation of himself. He is authentic and his lyrics reflect things from his own personal experience. His main focus is his music and career. In addition to wanting to put Indianapolis on the map, Hot Dizzy wants his music to be an inspiration to all listeners.

Throughout his life, Hot Dizzy used music as a means of getting through tough situations. It was his escape and coping mechanism for whatever problems he was dealing with. He had kind of a rough life, and at times he found himself struggling to get by. He recognizes that he may not have had it as hard as others, but it has still made him understand that if you want something, you have to get up and go get it. Nothing in life is easy, free, or given to you. You have to keep working at it.

Hot Dizzy wants to be an inspiration to others and for his message to be heard. He only hopes for his music to have the same helpful and lasting impact that others’ music had on him.

Martin Callingham - A Toe on the Water

Martin Callingham

MARTIN CALLINGHAM is a Bristol based musician and songwriter. 2012’s “They May Put Land Between Us” released under the Joyce the Librarian moniker and 2015’s “Tonight, We All Swim Free” both received generous airplay from the likes of BBC 6 Music and BBC Radio 1 as well as a host of enthusiastic reviews from the likes of Q Magazine, Clash Magazine, Louder than War and others.

His debut album “Tonight, We All Swim Free” was released in 2015 on Folkwit Records.
Playing like the soundtrack to the last day of your childhood holidays – it is in parts upbeat, elsewhere heartbreaking, and beguiling from beginning to end.

“The album was picked up by Radios 1 and 6 and it’s easy to see why. “Portland Square” was a recent favourite and Knots, whilst more upbeat, continues the sublime stream of complete and utter loveliness.” LOUDER THAN WAR.

2018 will see the release of Martin’s third album and first on new Bristol label, Oh Schmo!

A new album is on its way and a tour to accompany it. Assassins, a collaboration with visual artist Lyndsie Barnard, will be released as a boxed set of postcards and limited run of vinyl with a preview single out in May 2018 and the album due for release in October 2018. Expect deeply affecting live shows to accompany a beautifully crafted album.

The video to lead track “A Toe on the Water” is a single shot recorded near the beautiful Hay Bluff on the Welsh borders, close to Martin’s childhood home.

Solar Facts

The name is Jimmy Jacobs, otherwise known as Solar Facts.

Solar Facts was born in Brooklyn N.Y. and raised in Queens. At just 8 years old, Solar was intrigued by the arts of Run DMC, Fat Boys, L.L Cool J etc. He was fascinated with making music and began writing rhymes that would never get recognized. Solar Facts dreams were halted after he landed 20 years stint in prison for charges ranging from weapons, drugs, robbery and escape. During his time of incarceration, Solar fed his love of music by writing and competing in rap battles behind bars. He overcame every single one of his opponents, maybe not in the first round, but he continued until there was no more to be said. Upon his release in 2012, despite having little knowledge of the music business, Solar founded Indestructable Entertainment.

Having had many discussions surrounding the consistent redundancy of today’s sound, Solar created his company with a mission to open doors for undiscovered talent to be heard. With a focus of individuality and standing out against the norm, Indestructable Entertainment came across one very serious problem… finding artist “Trying to convince other artist that it’s okay to be yourself definitely isn’t trending, so plan B was to lead by example”.

Solar Facts has been working diligently to create better production and sound quality that is outside the box and ultimately, what he feels is real hip hop. Solar was once approached, at a young age, by a producer who took a liking to his sound and had the idea that Solar should make lyrics to the first Batman movie and title himself as The Joker. Solar refused. Although this might have been a quickly to make money and be heard, he also understood that an image and title of that nature could only be a gimmick and his love and understanding of music wouldn’t allow him to make that choice. Despite having no experience of writing an entire song. Solar Facts released “I’m That Guy” in 2013. His debut single received overwhelming recognition in the form of 7 million likes and shares, in addition to countless commercials and interviews (all publishing rights and credits reserved).

Solar Facts has been working diligently for better production and sound quality that is outside the box and what he feels is real hip-hop. In 2016 Solar started a project called The Matrix. Each release under The Matrix is labeled the blue pill or the red pill. The red pill symbolizes the choice to hear something more familiar… a different sound with a spin on lyrics similar to what you might hear in mainstream music. On the other hand, the blue pill symbolizes authenticity in music, something that a listener would have and want to hear more than once to understand.

I Can't By Marwan Maurice

Marwan Maurice

Rock and blues singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Marwan Maurice has just released a new single on iTunes titled “I Can’t.” The track captures the classic sounds that fans of Rock, Blues, Rockabilly, and Folk music will appreciate. The song is based on a true story written about a rocky relationship involving a man and a woman. She ends up leaving him feeling that he was no longer ‘good enough’ for her. After venturing through life without him, she comes to the realization that the man who was once not substantial in her eyes was actually the best thing she could have ever asked for. She then attempts to get him back into her life but unfortunately, his feelings may have changed making her attempts just a tad bit too late. Marwan Maurice’s vocals bring depth to his lyrics about circumstances and emotions everyone goes through. You can sample and buy “I Can’t” on iTunes here: iTunes

This single is the third release to his upcoming EP “Black Smoke” which will be released independently on iTunes mid-summer. Its stomping, sultry groove embodies the likes of The Black Keys, John Lee Hooker, Bruce Cockburn, Imagine Dragons and The Roots. The project has been produced by Christopher Gill and Gavin Shea of Nashville based company, HandMade Productions. Marwan Maurice is currently building a promoted and self-funded tour for ‘Black Smoke’ to soon confirm that he is one of the best new independent singers performing today. A rich blend of blues, soul and roots-rock that will astound the casual listener while rewarding Marwan Maurice’s longtime fans, dubbing his music a masterpiece of modern blues and rock fusion.

This song has a contemporary rock feel mixed with classical elements due to my upbringing listening to Elton John and Queen. People say it sounds like Evanescence, Sara Bareilles, and P!nk meets The Cure. It also has a strong message along with the music video. There are not enough LGBTQ+ music videos out there, especially portraying interracial couples and the challenges that come with certain cultures. Aside from having a powerful message, this is also a depiction of a true story. I was still figuring my sexuality and had doubts about my feelings for women due to traditional societal norms. My partner at the time came from a non-supportive family. In the end, we both realized we should be happy with ourselves before we started a relationship period. Be happy with yourself FIRST. It’s not simple, but it’s necessary. From this relationship, I knew I could actually fall in love with a woman and be happy. She realized to be happy too despite what her family thought. It was a sad ending, but a powerful lesson.
