Being a son of a King, B-Bless has some big shoes to fill and always been trying to find his own identity. As It Is – The Wounded World

As It Is – The Wounded World

AS IT IS unveil ‘The Wounded World’ and announce new album ‘The Great Depression’ – out Aug 10th on Fearless Records

Brighton quartet, As It Is, have today announced the release of their new album, ‘The Great Depression’, (out August 10th on Fearless Records) with new single, ‘The Wounded World’.

Speaking of the track and the accompanying video, frontman Patty Walters says:

“The Wounded World’ is a commentary on the polarised and volatile modern reality, which we’ve allowed. The video depicts a not-so-distant dystopia, where present-day headlines and technologies are displayed in exhibits as the warning signs of an impending disaster. I feel that we as a society have embodied a destructive habit of talking without listening, surrounding ourselves with alternative facts and headlines, totally void of open-mindedness or empathy. Despite the labels and beliefs that all too often divide us, we are one people, and we’re all to blame.”

MORE ON THE GREAT DEPRESSION:
When music is as its best, it is capable of holding a mirror up to the human condition in a way few other art forms can ever match.
In the hands of the observant, the erudite, the compassionate and the philosophical, music allows us to better understand who we are and feel powerfully less alone.

With their third album ‘The Great Depression’, As it Is are comprehensively proving themselves to be such artists. Stepping out of their comfort zone with aplomb while asking, and answering, complex questions in a way precious few bands ever do.

Across ‘The Great Depression’s dozen tracks, As It Is take the listener on a journey which delves into every aspect of arguably the most prevalent social ill of our time. From public perception, to internal war, the quartet unflinchingly confront the most difficult questions around depression, the value of life over death, and whether the rhetoric around ‘reaching out to talk’ is ostensibly hollow, if no one is prepared to hear those words.

David Haerle – Finding Natalie

David Haerle – Finding Natalie

From David Haerle’s upcoming album, Garden Of Edendale, which will be released on June 29, 2018. This video documents the recording session for the song “Finding Natalie”, which took place at Sunset Sound Studio 2, in Los Angeles, CA. Directed by Sabrina Doyle.

Singer-songwriter David Haerle welds guitar-driven rock with a shimmering California sound on his debut full-length album Garden of Edendale, available June 29, 2018 on Spotify, Apple Music, iTunes, Amazon and all major retail stores.

This release is a master class in songwriting. Haerle’s evocative lyrics and melodies transform nostalgia into beauty, taking the listener through one man’s life of lost loves, hard lessons, and midlife awakenings. The songs’ arrangements spotlight the talented roster of musicians he’s assembled, and give them room to show their skills. Couple that with his own virtuosic guitar style and the album’s classic California feel, and you have a mature pop-rock record that calls back to the golden days of AOR (album-oriented rock) and the 1970s.

Garden of Edendale refers to the historic name of Haerle’s hometown neighborhood in Los Angeles and provides the setting for many of the songs. Indeed, all the tracks were recorded in Los Angeles at Sunset Sound and Edendale Studio. Garden of Edendale was produced by Haerle, Jose Salazar and Brina Kabler, working with a number of highly sought-after engineers and mixers including Bob Ludwig (Led Zeppelin, Queen, Frank Ocean), Grammy-Award winner Elliot Scheiner (Steely Dan, Foo Fighters, Paul Simon), and David Bianco (Mick Jagger, The Posies, John Hiatt). His band lineup features Luanne Homzy on violin (Vitamin String Quartet).

“I always dreamed of making music, but I think I had to live this record before I could make it,” says Haerle.

Garden of Edendale is a love story: love of Rock ‘N’ Roll, love of incredible people, and love of home.

The song/video Women Make the World Go ‘Round won PBS’ Taste TV‘s Music California Video Award’s Best Lyric and Verse.

Nothing More Just Say When

May 1st, 2018 NEW YORK, NY – Three-time Grammy -nominated rock band Nothing More has revealed the music video for “Just Say When”, the third single from the band’s album “The Stories We Tell Ourselves”. The stunning, acoustic ballad showcases the group’s versatility, musicianship, and emotional substance, that features a captivating performance from Tate McRae (Fox Network’s “So You Think You Can Dance”) and D’angelo Castro (NBC’s “World of Dance”). Directed by Daniel Cummings (Bon Iver), the video was shot at El Paso International Airport and depicts the innocence of young love and the emotional weight of love lost.

Nothing More lyricist Jonny Hawkins shed light on the inspiration behind “Just Say When”,

“The day my mom died I met a girl…..this girl became my girlfriend and years later my wife. With fear of the past and hope for the future, we set sail with holes in our boat. As the inevitable pressures of life came pouring in, we sensed ourselves starting to sink. Two half-souls shoveling buckets of water, desperate to hold on to an imagined future, but not fast enough. Then one day she became my ex-wife. I felt in my gut that it was right, but every other part felt wrong. Whether people will admit it or not, I think our deepest fear is the loss of love. I found something to be more afraid of…settling… Luke warm…Just Say When…”

The 2017 release of The Stories We Tell Ourselves has the band (Jonny Hawkins/vocals, Mark Vollelunga/guitar, Daniel Oliver/bass and Ben Anderson/drums) revved up in full gear – with no signs of slowing down. The album earned the band three nominations at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards earlier this year – including Best Rock Album, Best Rock Performance, and Best Rock Song for their #1 hit single “Go to War”.

Nothing More is currently touring throughout North America on the Crooked Teeth World Tour with Papa Roach and special guests Escape the Fate, and are announcing today a handful of headline dates for this run. The band will also be joining Five Finger Death Punch, Breaking Benjamin and Bad Wolves on tour this summer.
