Fresh from the success of their huge single ‘First Time’, which has so far amassed almost 30 million Spotify streams, dynamic production duo M-22 are back, this time delivering latest single ‘How Does It Feel.’

A vibrant and upbeat summer production, ‘How Does It Feel’ offers a sumptuous slice of vocal house, with M-22, made up of Manchester-based Matt James, and German native Frank Sanders adding: “We wanted to capture a classic house feeling with uplifting lyrics that sends an empowering and positive message. With a rich sounding production and a powerful soulful vocal, we feel like we have captured what we set out to achieve.”

Scoring success as Pete Tong’s ‘Essential New Tune’ with their debut single ‘Good To Be Loved’, M-22 have since enjoyed a meteoric rise, gaining support from a wealth of the industry’s biggest names, including Tiesto, Axwell Λ Ingrosso, Oliver Heldens, Sam Feldt, and Jonas Blue. Upon signing to 3beat in 2017, the duo truly began to skyrocket, releasing ‘First Time’ featuring Medina – which soon landed a place in the Top 20 of the Official UK Charts, hitting number #3 in the Official UK Dance Charts.

M-22 have also proved their dynamic diversity in the studio, creating official remixes for the likes of Avicii, Swigala, Clean Bandit and Demi Lovato, Sigma, Rudimental, and Marshmello – with the latter supported by former DJ Mag Top 100 winner, Hardwell.

Playing across several of the world’s biggest festival stages and clubs, including Tomorrowland, Ushuaia, and Hi Ibiza, the duo are looking to curate their own live shows and showcase evenings in the future and beyond.

RuthAnne – Liquid

In The last year alone, the songs she’s written have streamed over 1.5 billion times. Now as an artist in her own right, RuthAnne releases soulful RnB single ‘Liquid’, via independent record label The Other Songs. ‘Liquid’ is the 3rd track, taken from her forthcoming album, which is due for release in 2019.

Following debut singles ‘The Vow’ and ‘Take My Place’, RuthAnne raises the bar and moves into Hip Hop / Soul with this social-media-bashing-banger, ‘Liquid’. ‘Liquid’ draws us in from the offset, with its melodic guitar riffs and deep rhythmical drum beats, while RuthAnne’s powerful, yet soulful vocal delivers poignant relatable lyrics, that get under your skin and stay there.

Produced by MJ&iRoK (Snoop Dogg, Ice Cube) & Cadenza (Jorja Smith, M.I.A, Rag n Bone Man), RuthAnne wanted to release something closer to the artists she was inspired by, which include soulful RnB and hip-hop artists Lauryn Hill and Amy Winehouse. You can hear these influences in the production and the vocals but lyrically, ‘Liquid’ holds a very strong modern message.

RuthAnne says, “Liquid’ is basically my response to any haters, fake friends and trolls out there. People seem to just talk on a surface level to each other, but then tear each other apart behind their back, or from behind a computer screen. Everyone has become a critic which means that more and more people are feeling the pressure to be perfect…to portray perfection. I allowed myself to be real about shit that wasn’t so great in my life and then write this song, calling it out for what it is and not letting any of it get to me anymore.”

In May 2018, she received two BMI awards for penning “Slow Hands” for Niall Horan and “In The Name Of Love” for Martin Garrix. She’s also written a string of hits including “Too Little Too Late” for JoJo and Britney Spears’ RIAA platinum-certified “Work Bitch” as well as featuring on the ‘Fifty Shades Darker’ soundtrack with her song “Pray”.

Last month RuthAnne supported Alanis Morrissette on her UK and Irish tour, as well as recently supported Third Story and X Ambassadors on tour, she also joined Niall Horan to sing on his “Flicker World Tour”.

Chicago Soul and R&B Singer/Songwriter Michael Donaby has been on the Chicago local Jazz/Blues scene as a keyboardist and singer since 2004. He has worked with local and national talents in coffee houses, restaurants and private events within the community until 2011, where a serious car accident nearly took his life, yet in his rehabilitation he rediscovered his love and gift of songwriting and a new one of music production. Reared in the church; some of his influences include Bobby Womack and Glen Jones. His debut EP released 8/2017: When the Music Stops included “Candlelight” a Chicago Steppers favorite. His second release 3/2018, “Something About Her” is garnering worldwide acclaim on Soul Podcasts across the Globe. His newest offering “Something Good” is highly anticipated and is to release 7/1/2018. With Michael Donaby, the music never stops and the bar is raised a little higher with every tune.

Performing in the RnB/Soul Genre – his style has been compared to some impressive artists of the past and serves as a refreshing alternative to today’s commercial description of Modern Soul Music, and is destined to leave a mark of its own.

Discuss your music career.

I started writing and recording in 1997, signed production deal with Toolman Music in Chicago. I played locally keyboards and voice for about 10 years. After a bad car accident in 2012, I lost a leg, stopped gigging and started back writing and producing ever since.

Elaborate on the song.

Something About Her is a R&B Soul tune with that Chicago stepping vibe. Something About Her was an honest tune-elaborating on the bright side of relationships from a mature male perspective. I wanted people to get a good feeling about their relationships every time they hear it.
