The idea for “The Duets” was conceived during a trip to Paris while recording a separate album with accordionist Laurent Derache. At the very end of the session Jessi asked Laurent if they could record the song “La Vie En Rose” as a gift for her grandmother. Laurent and Jessi laid the song down in one take and recognized an instant musical chemistry.

Later the following year, he traveled to the states for the Madame Freak & The Funky Fever tour. While in the USA, they carved out time to record some of her favorite cover songs together. Each of the songs Jessi chose represents a piece of her musical life that helped her develop as a singer and a writer. What came of it felt like magic and “The Duets” were born. Jessi later asked her friend and longtime band mate Nick Krolak to add his upright on some of the tunes. Although one hears three instruments on most of the tracks, the name “The Duets” stuck because of the incredible, musical moment that Laurent and Jessi created in the studio that day.

Jessi Teich (pronounced “teach”) graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA and is currently living in Los Angeles, CA. She has won numerous international songwriting awards and accolades.

Over the years she has developed a sound that masterfully mixes indie-pop, jazz sophistication, blues grit, and soul’s tragic romance. Jessi has an edgy yet elegant aesthetic that fluidly seeps into her music. It’s this unique combination that’s drawn her comparisons to Adele, Sarah Bareilles, Sia, Lana Del Rey and Amy Winehouse among others. According to one reviewer, “Jessi has a rare sense of soul-baring vocal honesty with no pretences or unnecessary acrobatics”.

Laurent Derache is one of Europe’s finest accordion masters and is based in Paris, France. He currently is involved with several projects including: The Laurent Derache Trio, YGRANKA, Jessi Teich and many other influential European musicians. Laurent studied at Conservatoire de Reims and Centre des Musiques Didier Lockwood.

Daisy Hicks – Stay

English-born and Australian-raised singer-songwriter Daisy Hicks brings you her 4th EP “When I’m Gone” from her upcoming new album set for release early in 2019.

Following on from her previous EPs “French Café”, “Upside” and “I Chose You”, the new EP builds on Daisy’s songwriting and vocal abilities as a truly contemporary soul and jazz artist with wide commercial radio appeal. Being the daughter of legendary jazz drummer Tony Hicks (Back Door) and closely related to international recording artist Chris Rea, Daisy’s music pedigree is truly undeniable.

“When I’m Gone” comes with a UK soul remix by Met Life (Michael Gray/Jon Pearn) and a stripped-down acoustic version. There is also a B-side “Stay” – a classic original jazz track written by Daisy and Malcom Maddock.

Daisy’s previous EP’s have all hit the charts – “I Chose You” hit #8 in the UK Soul Charts, currently at #10 on the Official European Independent Music Chart, “French Café” peaked at #2 on the Official European Independent Charts and “Upside” broke the Top 10 on the Official European Independent Music Chart and the Euro Indie Music Chart.

All 3 singles continue to have unwavering radio support in the UK, across Europe and in the US from Jazz FM, various BBC Regional Stations, Jamm FM, MiSoul, Delite, Solar, Starpoint and many more. In the last 18 months, Daisy’s tracks have had over 27,500 radio plays around the world and her videos on Facebook have received over 14M views.

After being classically trained and beginning her career in jazz, Daisy decided to deviate from her roots and explore her musical horizons. By the age of 19 Daisy had been signed by Concept Music, where she released her debut album “Mistress”. The album broke in the UK, Japan and European markets with radio play on the likes of KISS, Radio 1 and Capital Radio and great support from some key tastemakers. This foundation led to Daisy touring in Australia, Singapore and the Far East.

Daisy has worked with amazing people internationally, writing with Aron Friedman (Backstreet Boys, Take That), Stefan Örn (co-wrote 2011 Eurovision winner, Anders Bagge, Westlife), Jeff Franzel (Josh Groban, Taylor Dayne), Malcolm Maddock (James Brown, Lionel Ritchie). She has worked with producers Matt Fell (multi-CMAA award winner, Sara Storer, Shane Nicholson), Curtis Schwartz and Gil Cang. And her music has had remixes by Tim Laws (Daryl Hall, Gabrielle), Pete Craigie (Billy Ocean, Seth Lakeman), Michael Gray and Jon Pearn (Met Life/The Weekend), The BodyBangers, Steve Moore, 7th Heaven, Almighty, Ruff Diamond, Sir Piers and Brian Power.

Daisy’s distinctive crystal-clear vocals always soar above the music and her music is played in thousands of shops, shopping malls, bars and airlines. Her track “So Much More Than Love” featured on the hit US TV series ‘Pretty Little Liars’.

Daisy’s cool, honey-sweet vocal style sounds effortless but she has the power to deliver her songs with a depth that makes both timelessly beautiful and addictive to listen to.

“When I’m Gone” will be available on iTunes, Spotify, Google Play, Amazon and all major digital platforms.

Alex Velea – Whisper

If showmanship could take a human form, it would probably be Alex Velea. Seems like an exaggerated statement but the truth is that Alex is one of the most charming and captivating artists that Romania has to offer, and yes, he is a mind-blowing showman.

In love with music as a child, Alex accomplished his lifelong dream of becoming a singer in the fall of 2005, when he released his debut album – YAMASHA. A statement about individuality, love and being true to one’s self, the album went Gold after producing three amazing singles and chart-toppers: Yamasha, Dragoste la Prima Vedere and Doamna Mea.

The end of 2008 marked the release of a new single – Doar Ea. The song’s originality lies in mixing a clubbing beat with Alex’s manner of singing that has powerful pop and R&B influences. The next release was the album and single Secret (2010) and single “Don’t say it’s over”, and it was no secret to anyone that Alex’s wave of success wasn’t anywhere near being over.

With each single a chart topper, Alex Velea is and will continue to be without a doubt one of the hottest singers and showmen on the Romanian, and dare we say, European scene.

MAI – I Don’t Mind

On the 31st of December in 1982 MAI, in civil life known as Maria Thevis, was born in Aachen, Germany. She grew up in a very musical family. As a little girl, before she could barely talk or walk, she joined her father with her baby talk and funny movements while he was playing the guitar and her mother – the piano. Her love for music was born. Music became the main inspiration in her life at an early age. She took piano lessons and sang in several choirs as a child. She started her own bands, when she was 16 years old and gained a great deal of stage experience. From the first moment on, she wanted to entertain people with music and everybody who saw her on stage knew immediately; this girl lives for music and the stage will be her home.

In 2005, MAI moved over to the Netherlands. Before she could even speak Dutch, she was already busy with music again. She got in touch with dance music due to a friend who was a DJ. Together with him she made her first dance productions and had her first experience as a vocalist and vocal MC at dance parties. The audience got and still gets enchanted by her warm and natural charisma. Her brilliant improvisational skills make her the perfect addition to the music. When MAI is on stage the party will become an unforgettable event that people will talk about for a long time afterwards. In addition to her vocal MC profession, MAI also writes her own songs. She took part in the radio 538 Demo Duel with her single “Ride”. The song and her stage performance made her the obvious winner.

RIDE – a coproduction between MAI en Joeri van Dongen (JVD Music) – is a mixture of dance and rock. The jury, radio 538 presenter Frank Daane, Jerney Kaagman and Tony van de Berkt, the general manager of the record label 8ball Music were impressed by the performance. They experienced the same magic that others have experienced before – a singer with a tough, modern, sexy charisma and a recognizable sound. Someone who really rocks the stage!

GET LOUNGED – The EP “MAI with Friends” is the first creative result of the MAI together with her band Get Lounged. The fair play between DJ, creative musicians and their instruments brings this kind of electronic music alive. The band features vocals by MAI, together with a DJ, Guitarist, Saxophonist, Trumpeter and Percussionist. The repertoire of Get Lounged is very versatile: from ambient lounge to soulful house and danceable deep house music. On stage the beautiful MAI understands the chemistry and power of using timeless classic vocals in combination with their own songs like “I Don’t Mind and On A Ride”. That’s what gives Get Lounged the unique sound…

Saze – Call Away

Having a passion for music even as a kid, Saze (Şafak Ezer) used to exchange music albums with his teachers in elementary school in Africa. Later, with guidance from his uncle in Istanbul, Saze started to play drums, his main instrument, at the age of 12.

After high school, while studying in the U.S., Saze continued to expand his musical horizons by playing with various musicians in the Albany, New York area. It was during this time that he started writing original material and taught himself recording and production techniques. After graduating, Saze moved to New York City and performed with various artists in the city and on out-of-state tours. Among these artists was pop/rock singer, songwriter Maggie Kim, who features international star John Legend on her 2004 song, “Perfect”.

A hiatus only proved to increase his desire to make music. Saze returned to Istanbul to get back to his true passion. This time, he decided to produce his songs with himself as the vocalist.

“Call Away” is the first fruit of this effort. The songs reflect different musical influences under a grooving, sexy, streetwise sound.

Gisel De Marco - I'll Never See You Again

Gisel De Marco – I’ll Never See You Again

Born in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina, Gisel’s destiny with music began at the tender age of just 7 years, when she received her first toy piano. Shortly thereafter, she started taking piano lessons and by the age of 10, she made her first home recorded album and named it “BlueBay”.

Gisel’s love for the arts continued as she participated in school plays, musicals, and dance. Through all her interests, she had no idea how strong her love for singing would be until one evening when she went to a Karaoke bar with her friends. She was extremely shy and nervous that evening, as Gisel’s friends convinced her to get up on the stage and sing a song. After gathering enough nerve to sing “Hero” by Mariah Carey almost instantly, the crowd went quiet as if they were hypnotized by this unknown local singer! Soon, they all began to applaud and cheer Gisel’s performance and it was at that moment, she realized that singing was the thing she was destined to do…it was the connection with the people in the Karaoke bar that evening that made her realize it was the most important moment of her life. At that moment, Gisel realized the first and greatest love in her life – singing for people!

She continued performing in plays and musicals while studying hip-hop and Persian dance, and modeling on the runway for the international store, Falabella, and the clothes designer, Solido Inc. At 18, Gisel composed and recorded her first demo and was soon invited to sing on several local television stations.

As Gisel’s journey with singing continued, she traveled to Buenos Aires to work with Laura Miller, Pimpinela, and Patricia Sosa producers. She also recorded with producer Fabian Gallardo and received proposals from the manager of Karina Mazzocco, Horacio Cabak, and Manuel Wirtz.

In 2003, after winning “The Bachelorette”, the Warner Channel flew Gisel to Jamaica, where she performed at the “Grande Sport Villa Golf Resort & Spa by Beaches.”

Soon after, she entered and won a singing and songwriting competition sponsored by “With you in Hollywood”, a Warner Channel production. Winning the contest afforded her the opportunity to travel to Hollywood in 2004, where she performed in the “City of Angels.”

In August 2004, Gisel joined a local Rock & Roll band known as “The Spanglish Band” as the lead female vocal singer. They performed in well-known clubs, restaurants, and events, such as Mei, Taura, Moore, SOHO and Costello. Concurrently, Gisel performed at the Hard Rock Café in Buenos Aires, as well as various events and restaurants in her home town of Rosario and neighboring communities.

In 2008, she performed in a key political event that was attended by more than 5,000 VIP persons, including, Nobel Prize laureate Mario Vargas Llosa, to whom she had the honour of singing “Happy Birthday” a capella. A large number of Ex-Presidents, such as Jose Maria Aznar (Spain), Alberto Lacalle (Uruguay), Vicente Fox (Mexico), and several other national politicians and experts such as Mauricio Rojas (Member of the Sweden Parliament) and Pedro Schwatz (Spanish Economist), among others, were in attendance.

Gisel’s ambitions didn’t stop in Argentina. On March 22, 2007, she joined SellaBand.com and was soon recognized as their most ambitious and unsigned South American Artist. She was intrigued by the friendships and bonds the artists on SellaBand forged with the people who “believed” in the artists through their purchases of “parts”. The opportunity of creating something together with believers was the driving force in what ultimately became the fastest “Final Countdown” in SellaBand history! Over the course of just a few days, Gisel de Marco raised approximately $14,000 to become the 25th artist to raise $50,000 on SellaBand.com. An amazing achievement for anyone. Gisel’s hard work paid off as her friends, fans, and believers launched her into the next chapter of her life…a recording deal for her debut album, “All The Way”, which released World-wide on August 1, 2010.

SellaBand was important in so many ways to Gisel de Marcothe site gave her World-wide exposure and demonstrated that she is a hit in countries around the world. Gisel expressed her gratitude by writing a song and dedicating it to her believersit’s called, “I found you”. Since the release of her debut album, “All The Way”, she has been selling and shipping Limited Edition copies to people in countries throughout the world. Gisel de Marco is living in Switzerland.
