Kat Saul – Nick Miller
Kat Saul – Nick Miller
Nashville-based pop writer/performer Kat Saul releases her new single “Nick Miller” today on all platforms.
Written as a happy accident with co-writers Luke Arens and Paige Blue, Kat recalls, “We were in the studio and Paige said that I reminded her of Jessica Day from New Girl, which happens to be my favorite show. We started joking about writing a song about the character Nick Miller and ended up having so much fun with the idea it stuck!” Showing off her knack for quirky lyricism and left-of-center sound, “Nick Miller” is an undeniable, first-listen ear-worm.
Kat’s previous releases “Jericho” and “Unit 408” have received attention from Popdust, The Tennessean, Nashville Native Magazine, among others. She has recently been featured as Lighting 100’s DJ Pick of The Week and has been endorsed by BMI, NSAI, ASCAP, CMT, and Sofar Sounds. Kat will play a single release show for “Nick Miller” at Nashville’s The Basement on November 26.
Growing up in Nashville, pop singer-songwriter Kat Saul learned to play guitar and piano at age five and started writing her own songs at age 13. By the time she was in high school, she was participating in professional writing sessions and is now one of the most buzzed-about young pop writers in Music City.
Now in 2018 Kat debuts her unique brand of unapologetic pop music with the release of “Jericho” and “Unit 408.” She presents an unmistakable sound that hits a little left from center and blends Nashville flavored lyrical sensibility with alt-pop melodies and production reminiscent of artists like Gwen Stefani, Sia, Lorde, and the like.
“Jericho,” received attention from Nashville Native Magazine calling it “a definite max out the volume sing-along,” while PopDust hailed it “a hot track that embodies exactly the kind of buzz she is making in the songwriting community.”
Her latest effort “Unit 408,” out October 24, continues to gain momentum having been named Nashville radio station Lighting 100’s DJ pick of the week and garnering praise from fans and press alike. FEMME RIOT writes, “One listen to “Unit 408” and you’ll be humming the song to yourself the rest of the day and be hooked on Kat’s musical style begging for more.”
Though very much at home in the studio, Kat’s electric live performance chops and undeniable stage presence is what truly makes her one of the most exciting young entertainers in Nashville’s emerging pop scene. Catch her next performance November 26 at The Basement in Nashville.
