Elaborate on this album and your music career.

This album has lots of Spanish guitar and rock guitar. I use Rodriguez, Takamine and Ibanez guitars. I also love using various percussive instruments. I just love creating music. I had fun combining acoustic guitars with modern technology. I hope you enjoy. Music has always been a way for me to connect with people without using words. It really is the universal language. I have walked away from so many recording sessions with great satisfaction, not only sharing music with some of my favorite people but learning more about life in the process.

.

Go into detail on why you decided to choose music as a career.

I love creating music and it is what I just love putting time into.

.

.

.

Brief us on the feedback you are getting from fans on your music.

I get positive feedback and people love it, thank God.

.

.

.

Discuss the relevance of social networking to music.

Indeed, I believe social networking is important for all types of musicians.

.

.

.

Tell us how you record your song.

In recording a song…I first doodle around and practice on the guitar.  Then I sometimes come up with ideas I like.  Then I’ll work and develop the idea into parts with melodies and so on.  Then I’ll go to my studio and record a rough draft on the guitar with a drum beat. Then I love to layer the different parts of the song with guitars, keyboards, bass, drums, percussion, effects, and plugins and on and on.  After all the parts are recorded, then I have to edit it and I usually don’t like that part. It usually takes time and energy and I’d rather be playing…but you gotta do it.  Then, after mixing and mastering and burning it down, you have a song.

.

.

.

Tell us the concept behind the instrumentation.

I’m a big fan of the guitar, so I have lots of guitar on this track.  I use my hands to clap out rhythms and I have a lovely bass part in the mix.  I enjoy using synthesizers and sound effects to help the music come to life.

.

.

.

State your musical skills.

I play the guitar, bass, drums, percussion, keys, mandolin, and ukulele.  I’d love to have a harp to mess around with.

.

.

.

Tell us how long it takes to complete a song from the start.

Probably about 3-4 weeks.

.

.

.

Go into detail on how you develop your lyrics and melody.

I enjoy lying down in bed in the evening and exploring and developing ideas on my guitar.

.

.

.

Discuss music in full detail.

Music is such a blessing and I’m so thankful for it.  It helps in so many ways.

.

.

.

State your five favourite genres of music with reasons.

I love smooth jazz, Spanish guitar, rock guitar, neoclassical metal.   All these styles have areas of showcasing the guitar.

.

.

.

Discuss your rehearsal.

We rehearse in garages and in music studios.  I sometimes like “rehearsing” with a band better than “performing with a band because the pressure is off and we can focus more on getting the music right.  Sometimes we create amazing magic in the rehearsal halls and it never gets recorded.  I do love rehearsing.

.

.

.

State your favourite musical instruments.

Guitar, bass, drums, percussion…

.

.

.

Describe the chemistry between you and your fans during a live performance.

It is fun to connect with the fans when I’m performing. I like seeing them up, happy and in good spirit.

.

.

.

Discuss your personality in full detail.

Actually, I am shyer then I would care to be.  I think I am easy going, fun, kind, empathetic and earthy.

.

.

.

Discuss your music career.

I’m very happy to be a musician.  I also have a studio where I help people with their recording projects.  I also enjoy teaching music.  I’ve met and worked with a lot of cool people.

.

.

.

List your musical work.

I’ve created and produced many albums including Golden Sunset, Desert Winds, Rock Candy, Tropical Oasis. I’ve scored music for the Marina Del Ray film festival winner of 2015 in the documentary entitled: “Understanding Pain in Older Age.” I also scored some music in “Heavy metal Greg Goes to the Grammy’s.”  I have created music videos and guitar tutorials.

.

.

.

Share your memorable experiences with us.

I once had a gig at “The Other Door” in North Hollywood and somehow with all the lights and people…it seemed as if magic was in the air.  I think the band was really tight and everyone was into it.  I really enjoyed that gig and I hope I have more good experiences like that.

Sam Nosrati:  “Cliff Targum is an accomplished guitarist.  One of the things he does is that he blends traditional folk hymns with modern rhythms to create a sweet fusion that actively engages the audience.  It is truly a privilege to hear Cliff’s music, especially as it is being performed.

Robert Richman: “Cliff Targum (the Maestro) is a consummate professional musician and he brings light into a world in desperate need for joy and great music. I would recommend him to anyone interested in working with this great professional.”

Howard Seibel:  “Oh my God Cliff Targum is a musical genius.  He took my song. “Hidden In The Basement” and turned it into a masterpiece.  His producing skills are top-notch, his dedication and approach are unprecedented. His attention to details are refreshing to work around. He cares about every beat, every measure until he and the client are satisfied; none of this “we’ll fix it in the mix shit”. No Cliff Targum is a true professional in every sense… I look forward to working with him in the future with many of my musical projects.  I have the utmost confidence in his abilities.”

Benson Simmons:  Cliff is such an amazing such a TALENTED MUSICIAN! He’s an excellent performer with top quality skills on the guitar! When he puts together a band for an occasion you can be sure that he will arrive prepared and surpass your expectations!  He’s also a fine composer. As a teacher, he is kind, compassionate and truly gifted. He’s warm and an excellent communicator. BEST IN LA!!!”

Lauria – I Got Me

Lauria has finally released her long-awaited second single entitled “I Got Me”. Florie-Laure “Lauria” Zadigue Dubé awoke her passion for singing when she was only two, listening to the musical “Notre Dame de Paris”. As a child, she was part of the choir of her church.  From her first year in high school, Lauria became known as ‘the singer’ of her group, spending every lunch hour in the music class. She performed on stage at her school several times, published several videos on YouTube and took singing lessons. Eventually, she crossed paths with a band in 2016 called NewDayz with whom she sang co-lead alongside her cousin performing pop/reggae fusion until they disbanded less than one year later.

“I’ve always wanted to be an entertainer and when I was little I thought I was a better dancer than singer. As I was growing up though, I realized nothing made me happier than singing.”

– Lauria

Lauria grew up with a musician uncle and local artists from all over Montreal… regularly be coming in and out of their basement studio. “I remember growing up thinking “I can’t wait to be old enough so I can play with all this stuff!” said Lauria.

Currently studying at Concordia University, Lauria’s favourite times are really in the studio.

“I’m happiest in front of the microphone when I know we’re turning a small idea into something that will matter. Every time I leave a recording session, I feel euphoria.” – Lauria

“But now,” says Lauria, “I don’t think in terms of having a genre. I just do music that makes me feel alive, that makes me feel something. I’m so passionate about music because I’ve had the experience when I’ve discovered new artists or new songs, where I had to stop whatever I was doing to just let the chills of a melody take over me. I’ve had times when I had to close my eyes and just lie down because a song was so musically powerful.”

Lauria just wants to make sure her listeners take something… whether it makes them move on a club dance floor or smile at home while doing homework. Whether it’s her music or her lyrics, “I want potential fans to connect with me as an artist through my songs. I want to create something that’ll make others feel a tenth of what I feel during these moments when I am most inspired, no matter the genre.”

The future is promising for German producer duo, and cousins, Furkan & Jelbrim. The group was formed in March 2018, after their first single “Deserve It”, grabbed the attention of the dance community worldwide, gathering almost 1 million streams on Spotify since its release only a few months ago.

Both Furkan and Jelbrim first started producing at the age of 12, and have been honing their dance/house/pop fusion sound since.

After a long time performing as solo artists, the cousins decided to reunite their multi-genre experience, and attempt to establish their own unique style, somewhere within the dance-pop realm.

Reuniting also means a new opportunity for business – the duo is currently building their label “Fritz Music Records”, with plans of releasing new music throughout 2018.
