Jerad Finck is a passionate singer/songwriter with a bent for emotive, heartfelt melodic pop/rock. A native of Spokane, Washington, Finck began playing music at a young age and initially studied trumpet and jazz in high school. It wasn’t until going to college that he began focusing on playing guitar and writing his own rock-oriented songs. After the release of his 2011 debut, Jerad Finck, he began touring the country, buoyed by the interest in his single “Runaway.” Along the way, he has garnered the spotlight opening for such acts as Daughtry, Edwin McCain, Ingrid Michaelson, and others. The EP Stuck in Your Riddle appeared in 2012. In 2016, Finck released his second EP, Criminal.

More!

Growing up in Spokane and spending his childhood summers on his family’s farm in Odessa, Washington, Jerad has been playing music his whole life – starting with trumpet and playing jazz heavily until college where he joined his first rock band. Since releasing his self-titled debut album, produced by John Seymour in 2009, he’s been on the road practically non-stop, opening for and/or touring with Daughtry, Christina Perri, Edwin McCain, Sister Hazel, DADA, Vertical Horizon, Parachute, One EskimO, Ingrid Michaelson, Matt Hires, Red Wanting Blue, Ron Pope, Cracker, Ingram Hill, Tony Lucca and many others. Jerad credits his experiences touring with the highly fan interactive Sister Hazel for helping him develop a deeper, more intimate relationship with his own audiences – both onstage and off.

Finck is no stranger to radio airplay. His first radio release entitled “Runaway” was the #1 independent song in the country on the Adult Contemporary chart as well as the Billboard Hot AC chart. The song became the perfect metaphor for the wild success of the track, which has propelled the tireless Spokane, WA based singer and songwriter and road warrior to new heights in his career – including collaborating and co-writing tracks on his latest upcoming full length album with top producers David Hodges (Kelly Clarkson, Daughtry, Christina Perri), Steven Miller (Pink, Dave Matthews Band, Switchfoot), Andrew Williams (Five for Fighting, Jessica Simpson), and Nathan Meckel (Sara Haze, Autumn Hill). Hodges helmed “Criminal,” the infectious power-pop ballad that became Finck’s second stint at radio. The success of Criminal at radio with sales of fifteen thousand and climbing, impacting the billboard chart in HOT AC and TOP 40, landed Jerad a deal with Nashville based Distribution company Tone Tree Music. Jerad also won the 2016 USA songwriting competition grand prize (previous winners, American Authors and Megan Trainor).

Now Finck is set to release “New Kids”, his latest collaboration with writer-producer Denny White (The Fray, Tiesto, Usher) on September 7th. Finck will be releasing this track in support of Anti-Gun Violence charity Everytown.org.

The singer’s special performances include Live In The Vineyard, Hotel Carolina, SXSW, Indie Week Toronto, The Rock Boat XII, and Balcony TV. Jerad has also been featured in newspapers and magazines; including CMJ, Skope, Maverick, American Songwriter, Amplifier and Acoustic Magazine. He and his band have performed on dozens of morning TV shows on NBC, CBS, ABC and FOX, and his songs have been featured in films and TV shows on HBO, ESPN, Discovery, CBS & NBC, among others.

With a cheeky young chap persona to match Robbie Williams and vocals reminiscent of original Pop Idol Will Young, former call-center worker Olly Murs was one of the success stories of the 2009 season of The X Factor, finishing as runner-up to Joe McElderry in the hotly contested finale.

Born in Essex in 1984, Murs showed little interest in singing while at school, focusing his attention on football, which he played for the school team and later semi-professionally for local non-league team Witham Town. In 2007, he appeared on Deal or No Deal, where he won a lowly £10, but it was his performance of Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition” on the sixth series of The X Factor that enabled him to show off his talents. Mentored by Simon Cowell in the live stages, he wowed judges with renditions of songs by the Beatles, Queen, and George Michael, and soon became the favorite to win the show. Despite a duet with musical hero Robbie Williams in the finale, however, Murs finished a respectable second. In 2010, he signed a six-figure record deal with Epic/Syco Music and embarked on the sold-out X Factor arena tour. After being personally invited by Williams to play at the televised charity football event Soccer Aid, Murs released his first single, the Jason Mraz-inspired “Please Don’t Let Me Go,” in August. His debut album, featuring songs written by Eg White, Scouting for Girls’ Roy Stride, and Wayne Hector, was released in 2010. The record produced three U.K. Top 20 singles, with “Thinking of Me” and “Heart on My Sleeve” racking up chart positions alongside the debut number one “Please Don’t Let Me Go.”

Murs took a short break from his musical career in late 2011 to present the eighth season of The Xtra Factor – a spinoff behind-the-scenes look at The X Factor – returning to the program that shot him to fame. His experience with the dynamics involved in the show and his upbeat character made him a firm favorite with the audience – as well as flirty co-presenter Caroline Flack. During the recording of each show, Murs was working on songs for his second album with writers Steve Robson (Lily Allen, James Morrison) and Claude Kelly (Kelly Clarkson, Backstreet Boys). The first single from his second record, “Heart Skips a Beat,” featuring U.K. hip-hop duo Rizzle Kicks, was released in summer 2011 and swiftly became a hit. The full-length release, In Case You Didn’t Know, followed in November and secured his first U.K. number one album. The following year, Murs opened for sprightly boy band One Direction on their North American tour and re-released the “Heart Skips a Beat” single, replacing Rizzle Kicks with Philadelphia rap duo Chiddy Bang, to coincide with the shows. Also in 2012, Murs released his third studio album, Right Place Right Time, which included the single “Troublemaker,” featuring rapper Flo Rida.

Summer 2013 brought a number of prestigious live shows, including a support slot on Robbie Williams’ Take the Crown stadium tour, which also involved dueting with the former Take That star during the headline set. By the end of the year, Murs had also collaborated in the studio with Williams, who showed up on his Swings Both Ways album on the track “I Wanna Be Like You.” In November 2014, Murs issued Never Been Better, his fourth studio album, which included the single “Wrapped Up” with the frontman of Gym Class Heroes, Travie McCoy as a guest. In support of the album, Murs embarked on a European tour in mid-2015, with sold-out dates throughout the U.K. and Ireland. In April it was announced that Murs would return with his former Xtra Factor co-presener Caroline Flack to take over the hosting of the main X Factor show after the departure of Dermot O’Leary. Toward the end of the year, Never Been Better was given a special-edition release, adding an extra seven tracks to the original album – including the U.K. Top Ten single “Kiss Me” – and a bonus live DVD, recorded on his European tour. Murs’ fifth album, 24 Hrs, arrived in late 2016 and featured the singles “You Don’t Know Love” and “Grow Up.” 24 Hrs became his fourth consecutive effort to top the British album chart. The next year, Murs issued an acoustic version of “Unpredictable” with singer Louisa Johnson.

Perry Michael Allen – Club House Jam

Perry Michael Allen was born and raised in Memphis U.S.A., the heartland of Soul. Allen’s’ musical roots run deep into the contemporary music marketplace. His father Perry Allen, an educator and Memphis’ foremost jazz radio disc-jockey, left a lasting impression on the young and talented musician.

During high school, Allen was awarded the unique opportunity to study the art of record making with some of Memphis’ greatest session musicians. Under the wings of master producer “Papa” Willie Mitchell and Stax hit writer David Porter (of “Soul Man” fame). Allen sharpened his songwriting and production skills and later became an artist/writer and arranger for both Stax Records and the legendary Hi Records where he worked for many years with Mitchell and soul legend Al Green, during their chart-topping careers.

Since then, Master Perry Michael Allen has collaborated on numerous successful and famous albums. Berklee College of Music has recognized Perry Michael Allen as a Music Production Specialist.

As a composer and arranger, “Session-Man” Allen has received many awards including RIAA Certified Gold and Platinum Albums and the coveted Memphis Blues Foundation “Blue Note Award”. His songs and tracks are also licensed to many movies and TV shows. Some are: “C.S.I.” -“Dr. House MD” -“JAG”, “Ally McBeal”, and for movies “Pulp Fiction”, “Munich”, Mickey Blue Eyes and many more.

In addition to his own records for Stax, Hi and other record companies, Allen penned three hits for Al Green; “Hanging On”, “So Good To Be Here” and “Soon As I Get Home” as well as recording and arranging for other well-knowns such as Bozz Skaggs, The Sweet Inspirations, Albert King, Wilson Pickett, Anita Ward, The Memphis Horns, Bobby Rush, The Soul Children, Syl Johnson, European groups “Wet Wet Wet”, Axelle Red and others.

During his first term at Stax Records, he recorded “The Sweet Inspirations”, the legendary backup singers of Aretha Franklin and Elvis Presley and also recorded David Porter’s album “Sweat and Love”, accompanying Porter at the famous WattStax concert which was the subject of the groundbreaking film of the same name. He later was songwriter/arranger/vocalist with the Stax/Fantasy records group “KILO”.

During his early years at Hi Records Allen made many recordings with The Hi Rhythm Section and worked for years alongside Mitchell and the legend of soul Al Green co-writing, arranging and appearing with Al Green as musical director in Las Vegas, on Broadway and a host of theatres and television programs including The Tonight Show, The Late Show, Soul Train and The Midnight Special.

Allen also worked on projects at Fame Records (Muscle Shoals) with writer George Jackson and performed as keyboardist/ vocalist on Anita Ward’s “Ring My Bell” tour. Allen later was called to work as producer/arranger/musician for Willie Mitchells’ new record label “Waylo”. For the Waylo label, he arranged and recorded the works of Al Green (He Is The Light) “Lynn White”, “Lanier &Co.”, the European group “Wet Wet Wet” (The Memphis Sessions), David Hudson’s album “Night & Day” and others as well as his own singles “Music All The Time”, “Turn On The Music”, “Ooo Wee” and “Highway”.

Perry Michael arrived in Europe for the first time touring as music director and road manager for superstar and friend Al Green. Later that year, he decided to return to Europe. Since moving there he has written, produced and recorded his own work, including the CD “Deep Inside” for Irma Molto Jazz, and “On The Radio”, “Push Push Push” and other singles for Tabloid/Polygram. Working with acclaimed house producer Gianni Bini, Allen released several mixes including “Ride” and “Back To My Roots”. Also during this time, his “Simple Things” EP was the first release for his independent label Nugen Music. The single “Club House Jam” is the second and precedes the album “Tracks Vol. 1”. The Album “Now and Then” will be released in 2019.

Allen is now a major contributor to the revival of Soul Music in Europe where he now lives and has reunited and worked with many friends and mentors including Isaac Hayes, The Blues Brothers, Solomon Burke, Booker T., and the MGs, the late great Rufus Thomas and countless others.

Adding to an ongoing career Allen now offers “Session Man” courses and music production counseling to emerging artists/musicians, European music institutes and recording studios.

When asked why he wanted to offer his courses, Allen replied:

“I was lucky to be inspired by great artists and producers and to have them as mentors. I want to convey inspiration and knowledge to musicians and artists who feel they are “on the outside looking in”. For me, there is nothing more rewarding than the feeling that you get when someone tells you that their success is due to what they learned from you and the things you’ve been able to convey to them”.
