Mokono – Signs

Mokono unveils a noteworthy song entitled ‘Signs’ which spotlights the rich vocals of the female vocalist that sings from the heart combined with an eccentric sound that is so unique and pleasant.

Mokono is an up and coming psychedelic-soul band based in Southampton, UK – whose music sports exciting grooves and jazz-inflected harmony.

Having been gigging for just a year; Mokono have already hit the scene hard playing prestigious venues such as o2 Academy Islington and gigging and making a name for themselves in places across southern England. (Bristol, London, and Southampton to mention a few).

Mokono’s debut single has already reached audiences of thousands within days of the release.

2019 is looking towards being an amazing year for Mokono who are expecting gigs supporting major artists.

The ensemble was established when members Georgia Lee (vocals), Charlie English (guitar), Annabel Thornton (keys), Ross Millar (bass), and Ben Lester (drums) met at university.

After spending the last year making their mark on the Southampton music scene and gigging at places in the South of England, Mokono released their highly expected debut single “Signs” on 14th December.

The song, (written by Ross Millar) emanated from a jam session revolving around a bass riff that the band instantly fell in love with.

When interrogated about the song, Ross stated “I started with a riff and progression that established the mood… I tend to notate rough parts for the whole song in Sibelius and bring it to the band to play through, and then we develop the parts, mess around with the structure and add new sections as a group”.

‘Signs’ adopts the metaphor of reading a map to analyze emotions that one is feeling. It is inspired by soul, funk and disco artists such as Here Come The Mummies and Jill Scott that Ross was listening to at the point of writing.

Synth-wave artists like Mega Drive inspired the breakdown and layering of textures.

Boy George & Culture Club – Life

Boy George & Culture Club refuses to stop thrilling music fans with hit songs and entertaining video with unusual visual that will add to the audience’s yearning for more.

Boy George & Culture Club unveil the most sensitive and incredible video of their iconic career.

Boy George and Culture Club unveil the video for the song entitled ‘Life’. Shot by Rankin, the accompanying video of the personal song Boy George has recorded to date starts with his iconic makeup stylings but later shows him stripped of his signature make-up and hat.

His emotion, his tears, captured and countered, with a theme of hope; revealing his vulnerable side, Boy George has said the video is a gratitude to his many fans that have supported him throughout his music career.

The band will perform ‘Life’ on The Graham Norton Show this Friday.

The song, produced by Future Cut, tells of battling and beating the darkest times, through the support of others and by holding on to this hope.

Of the track, Boy George says: “John Lennon said ‘LIFE’ is what happens while you are busy doing other things, but sometimes you have to stop and look with sadness and pride at what you have done and created in your own life and value the rich complexity of it!

As the lyricist of ‘Life’, I wanted to express something truthful, honest and bare while carrying an uplifting message of hope. It’s my story, but it’s a story so many people will resonate with. A story of recovery, transformation and the start of a brand new journey which has already brought Culture Club well deserved accolades. It’s a song about second chances and new beginnings, enlightenment, spiritual growth, and personal redemption.

Since their start in 1981; Culture Club have sold over 150 million records worldwide, recognized as a Grammy Award-winning UK institution with a stream of classic hits including; ‘Do You Really Want to Hurt Me’, ‘Karma Chameleon’, ‘Church Of The Poison Mind’, ‘Victims’, ‘It’s A Miracle’ and ‘The War Song’.

The group are fronted by singer/songwriter Boy George; loved as one of music’s most iconic artists, with Roy Hay on guitar/keyboard and Mikey Craig on bass. As the first multi-racial band with a gay front man, Culture Club set many records and proved themselves as idols of British musical history and popular culture. During the summer they played to over five hundred people in the US and have just finished performing ‘The Life Tour’ around arenas across the UK and Europe.

Saving Forever – Memories

Established on the South Side of Chicago when they were not yet teens, Saving Forever feature the geniuses of vocalist and multi-instrumentalist brothers Khaden Harris, Kye Harris, and Kavah Harris. Encouraged by their dad to make music at a young age; the brothers started out taking classical piano studies with their grandma. Over time, they honed their guitar, bass, and vocal skills. They initially performed inspirational gospel music at church; however, motivated by an array of influences from Prince and Queen to Bruno Mars and Fall Out Boy, they quickly graduated to creating their own rock-oriented work. The band’s three-song demo eventually got the attention of veteran producer L.A. Reid, who signed them to Epic Records. They dropped their first single, “Million Ways,” in 2017.

More!

Chicago-born, Los Angeles-based sibling pop outfit Saving Forever comes up with an extraordinary sound and style that one cannot listen once without the zeal to listen repeatedly to their remarkable song and watch the stunning music video entitled ‘Memories’.

The threesome’s unique style can be termed as a genre-bending dance-rock. Their latest single ‘Memories’, produced by Fall Out Boy frontman Patrick Stump, capitalizes on their newfound confidence for engaging songwriting, taking hints from the likes of Imagine Dragons. The music video delivers a broad and thunderous new release that hits… It’s powerful, and everything a pop-rock music video should be. The trio stand hard on this new single, with the track and video proving to be one of their most notable new cuts to date.

Having spent the last year releasing bold and anthemic dance-rock songs such as ‘Twenty 1’, ‘Million Ways’ and the Kodie Shane collaboration ‘Always In My Mind’, the three Chicago-born, LA-based brothers Saving Forever now seek to cement themselves the next big pop-rock outfit with the release of their latest song ‘Memories’.

Saving Forever are a notable passion project for legendary musician Randy Jackson. Having honed their sound into a captivating sonic onslaught of high-energy guitars and thunderous production, their latest material gives them a head-turning edge that needs to be discovered.

Elaborating on the new song, the band explained:

“Our new track is about being young and adventurous… It’s about doing things you’re not supposed to be doing and going a bit crazy. We hope the song functions as a reminder to capture the moments when you’re in them and to always live in the now”.

Heather Whitney – What Part Of Life

Brand new single “What Part of Life,” written by Heather and produced by Buddy Hyatt, is being released on September 8th, 2018. It’s already on the New Music Weekly country charts!

Singer-Songwriter, Heather Whitney comes from an itty-bitty, one-red-light town deep in the pines of Southeast Texas, where the mosquitoes are big, but Heather’s love for music is bigger!

Heather’s debut album, “Moving on” is full of love, heartbreak, and moving on. This album is everything she has lived through, felt, and overcame, while in the studio. “Just because you’re working towards your dreams, doesn’t mean that the world stops spinning, and hardships won’t find you,” says Heather. “What gave me the strength to complete my album, was knowing that I was not alone and that someone else out there would hear these songs, relate to them, and possibly gain some healing like I did. We have to stick together.”

Heather spent the last year flying back and forth from Newton, TX to Nashville, TN, writing, hand-picking songs for the album, and recording with producer, Buddy Hyatt. She just wrapped and released her first music video for her single “Shut Up And Dance” and her album “Moving On” (Now available on iTunes)!

“Everyone who was a part of this project was there because of their belief in me, and I’m forever humbled and thankful for them and this experience. Everything that I put into this album will absolutely translate to the listener! Hope y’all enjoy it!”

Melissa’s EP, “Listen.” draws you in with her amazing voice. Filled with her inspiring melodies and passionate lyrics, her songs will feed your soul, leaving you yearning for more.

Discovering Melissa:

“I was out hearing some live music on Hollywood Blvd. There was this wonderfully powerful and deeply emotional voice. A truly great singer! This singer was Melissa Collins. There was a song that truly hit me!! At the end of the set, I asked what that particular song was. She said it was a song she had written called “THE HARD WAY” and that she had a deep connection to it. I asked to hear more and encouraged her to keep writing, writing, writing! We eventually went in and recorded a few songs. “The Hard Way” being the first… She continues to write extremely heartfelt, soulful, catchy and melodic songs. In my opinion, She Is The Real Deal!”

– Denny Fongheiser – SONIC BLISS PRODUCTIONS, LLC.
