ARTIST NAME: Attila Gibson
SONG TITLE: Minds Dark Path
ALBUM TITLE: Sentinels of Sentients
RELEASE DATE: 2019
Discuss your existence.
My existence as far as I can tell is to help others by sharing the music and wisdom I feel comes from someplace else other than the tangible world as we know it I guess. And making my grandkids laugh.
State your favorite genre of music and your reason.
I love the best versions of all music styles.
I listen to such artists as Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne, Mozart, Evanescence, and so on.
Tell us your experience as a musician.
It is really hard to quantify all I have experienced because of this gift God gave me.
As a teenager, I was let into so many doors that others were not allowed through and brought happiness and music to places that the devil had no clue I could get to.
It’s a powerful thing to have the ability to impact people of all ages and statuses at such a core level, but in doing so I allow my feelings to be read and exposed to others.
Name the people behind your success and thank them on this platform.
My godfather Otto Gerber influenced me when I was 4 with an album of all the piano greats, Mozart…
My mother who has always supported me no matter how screwed up I got as a kid and decided not to have an abortion that the doctor recommended my amazing children, and my wife Heather.
Tell us your future goals.
I would love to at least make enough money to buy a nice full grand piano one day, and a house it could fit in LOL, mainly to be happy and be there for those I love and show them they can do whatever they want in this world if they work hard for it.
Elaborate on the theme of the song.
‘Minds Dark Path’ is just that you can feel the anger, discontent, and sense of going out of bounds from people’s expectations.
Elaborate on how you think your music is inspiring your fans.
I really don’t know; it seems to be a very personal and unique experience for everyone.
I know this because of all the different stories that people tell me they imagine from the same song, it’s really cool to hear them and the imagery people have that describes them in a way it allows me to peek into their minds.
Discuss your experience in the music industry.
I’m just a pup in the industry; I did all of this myself with a shoestring budget and got as far as Carnage Hall and the Grand Ole Opry.
I wish I could get someone who is good in the industry and set stuff up so I can just show up and play and that would be perfect.
State the artists you cherish most and your reason.
I have great admiration for Rick Wakeman.
Tell us if you enjoy collaborating with other artists or just singing as a solo artist.
I love jamming with musicians of my caliber who can improvise in real-time, it’s like jazz but with an emotional drive to follow and elaborate on a melody or mood in real-time.
I have only met maybe five people in the world I can truly do that with and one is my oldest son.
But the work that I produce in my name Attila Gibson is mine and I tend to keep it that way mostly because I hate paperwork!
I love playing. I could and would love to collaborate with all the best people if someone else would just deal with all the bullshit paperwork LOL.
Brief us your opinion on making music that makes people dance or making the music with a genuine message that inspires them.
You can have music that deeply inspires you and has a strong message and makes you dance, and vice versa.
Discuss the impact of a Performance Rights Organization.
As far as I can tell they do a lot of paperwork and I’m grateful for that…
Elaborate on how you develop your melody and instrumentation.
It’s like a door to somewhere opens and music flows out and my emotions at the time weave and delude themselves in the music and give it meaning and soul I guess.
Minds Dark Path was a theme I had in my head and I played it and recorded it in one take.
In other songs, the melody forms over years always resurfacing with a little more added to it.
Discuss your music performance.
Powerful, passionate, and exciting!
Like Huey Lewis said I’m on a new drug, LOL there’s nothing like it.
State your artist’s name and elaborate on it.
My artist’s name is Attilla Gibson, my mother is a Hungarian and I was named Tibor at the hospital and before I got home I was called Attila; it’s the only name I know to be called by and my father had the last name Gibson.
