Discuss how you develop your melody.

I develop a melody right in my mind. It mostly happens like this now. And before I am afraid to forget it I record that melody as a voice memo on my phone. And when I record that melody, I build my feel, improvisation, and phrasing based on that signature melody.

.

.

.

Tell us your source of inspiration.

My source of inspiration is my late mother, who always supported me in my music journey.

.

.

.

Tell us the most memorable experience in your music career.

My most memorable experience has been recording with my Gospel band and all the boys wide awake at 4 AM in the morning in the studio; all filled up with energy and motivation, and we were talking, discussing arguing over the final touches to the song. That was one of the times I felt more real than ever.

.

.

.

Discuss how you build your song.

I generally focus on what the lyrics talk about, and then I decide what type of music would resonate best with it. Same goes with the title of the song.

.

.

.

Tell us how you ensure your music inspires others.

Every piece of my music has a story to it. Every single track, every single song… There is a story of hope, pain, joy, sorrow, anger, grace, love, hate…

.

.

.

Discuss the relevance of promotion to the music business.

I focus on promoting music as much as making music nowadays. And I try my best to get my music on the online stores for promotion, hence adding one music track/content…

.

.

.

Tell us what you will do apart from music.

I would do acting or modeling.

.

.

.

List the names of the instruments you can play.

I can play the following instruments:

Guitar

Bass

Keys

Drums

Cajon

.

.

.

Tell us the piece of advice you will give to a new artist on entering the music chart.

Have a positive attitude, don’t envy, and don’t be afraid of the hurdles you might face. Have complete faith in God and keep moving forward in your career even when you can’t see that bright future… Just keep doing it. If you make it…You will be an inspiration to everyone…but if you die trying it… I promise you, you will never regret it.

.

.

.

Elaborate on melody and rhythm.

For me, the melody is like a side of a coin on which one side is the rhythm. If you can look closely, you can find a pretty significant rhythm in a melody and a significant melody in a rhythm. And that is perfect when you are able to hear the rhythm or the melody vice versa…because the one you can hear or imagine is the only one that would suit it.

.

.

.

State your future goals.

Want to go to Hollywood, pursue a music career there, build a production studio, and expand it to create a production house.

Share your recording experience with us.

I had to tie a microphone to a ceiling fan and suspend it in the air to record vocals as I had no mic stand at the moment once. Secondly, I have had to travel to places for recording, taking my gear along with me, which actually is fun at times.

.

.

.

Tell us the most difficult part of the recording.

For me, I guess it is recording live drums – Because you have to be very careful about the sound, the instrument, and the musician.

.

.

.

Discuss the greatest mistake you have ever made in your music career.

Falling in love with things that shouldn’t matter, I guess and one of my most beautiful mistakes also.

.

.

.

Tell us how you build up your composition.

From my mind to voice memo, from voice memo to a demo, recording on my laptop, and then from that to the studio – I record a punchline melody and then build my phrasing all over it.

The music will tell you itself, what should come next. Sometimes I come up with just a title for a song. And then build the composition around it keeping in the mind what the feel of the title says.

.

.

.

Discuss the relevance of music.

The relevance of music is the key element which keeps your bond to music unbroken. In my life, I came across a time when I had nothing left in my life except music. It was a dark time of temptation but eventually, when I came out of that phase I realized that it’s the music that will stay with me till my very own end. And I want to stay connected to it too…till my very own end.

.

.

.

Elaborate on the song.

The song is about exploring a blending fusion between Ethnic Eastern and Western Classical instruments such as Sarangi, Clarinet, Tabla, Violin, and Classical Guitar along with a punchy electronic bass line and electronic synth pads going along with drums added on the chorus part of the song.

.

.

.

Elaborate on your artist name and the title of the album.

My artist name Amoon Dass a.k.a Moon, well everyone mostly goes on with Moon.

But my social media accounts are on my name so I keep it original for fans to find me easily.

Secondly, the title of the song “What words mean” is a track describing a feeling about our lives and how we make a perception about people and what they say, sometimes it doesn’t mean what we think, sometimes it could mean something we never ever thought of.

Thirdly the album name – Actually the album name is ‘Across Borders,’ an album I have been working on.

The album involves collaboration with artists around the globe – Like for this track I had gone to Dubai to record it so hence it gets the name Across Borders – And more to come on it as well.
