Theo Nt is an Athens, GR based multi-instrumentalist, singer, composer and producer that states that music is one releasing tunes in various genres.

After his psychedelic rock band Project ‘Dead Poets Society’, he entered the trip-hop/soul era with his other band ‘Hold And Release.’

‘The Mermaid’ is his debut album with his stage name focusing on the sounds of grunge and alt-rock.

.

.

.

Tell us how you build up the tune for this song.

It all happens with a guitar in this album. I usually fiddle around on strange chords and try to fit in the melody and then the lyrics.

.

.

.

Tell us the best means of becoming a famous artist and selling more records.

If you have a team that works for you, then you focus on the creative and personal things. Social media and word of mouth is the key. Pulling and not pushing your product!

.

.

.

Tell us how fans are reacting to your music.

They pretty much like my last album especially songs like ‘Solar Eternity’ and ‘Embroidery.’

.

.

.

Explain how to deal with fear on stage.

Rehearse more and believe in yourself.

.

.

.

Tell us your point of view on the quality of production of today’s songs to old songs andpoint out what you think has changed.

In the old times, everything was documented live while nowadays the advent of technology has changed the way we record and listen to music. Recording something isn’t difficult, promoting is the hard factor. In other words, getting heard!

.

.

.

Tell us an interesting experience in your music career that is significant.

You learn from your mistakes. You should not be afraid to do a lot of them. Don’t trust people until you see action, not words!

.

.

.

Tell us how you come across the lyrics of this song.

It’s a poetic way to tell a story about how your heart broke and now you feel down.

.

.

.

Tell us your best means of expressing yourself.

Singing high while talking about pain, death or something that brings inspiration

.

.

.

Tell us your opinion on using music to deliberate on issues affecting people likecorruption, immoralities, politics, and religion.

It’s a nice medium to elaborate your point of view in almost every aspect including the aforementioned subjects.

.

.

.

Discuss how you plan to create a piece of timeless music that your fans can cherish forever.

Persistence and quality is the key to access that area. Be as unique as possible. Be yourself.

.

.

.

List the names of individuals you can point out as legends and state your reasons.

Chris Cornell: Such a talented songwriter and vocalist. So many songs he’s written are just anthems.

Jeff Buckley: This guy is just not human to me.

.

.

.

Tell us your viewpoint on discriminating.

I totally disagree with discrimination from every possible angle may that occur. We all shall be treated equally.

.

.

.

Tell us your favourite books and state your reason.

Various Poems and Quotes from various artists. I mostly love simple texts.

.

.

.

Tell us what triggers your creativity.

Creativity comes as a result of an action. Being or remaining active triggers your brain and that gives the option to use it in your art.

.

.

.

Tell us how you generate musical ideas for your composition.

Depending on what I want to write, I create an imaginary landscape and work on that.

.

.

.

Tell us your greatest song and state the reason.

I just don’t have one coming from that album. Solar Eternity, Embroidery, Game and My Last Mistake…

.

.

.

Tell us how you compose your song.

I mostly compose my songs on guitar with my mac. I try to make a demo as quickly as possible and return on the project a few days later in order to see if that works.

.

.

.

Elaborate on the song.

I love the reverb on that song and melody changes while the jazzy flavoured chords supercharge the meaning of it.

.

.

.

Elaborate on your artist name and the title of the album.

My artist name has been taken from my birth name but in cutting shape. The Mermaid would be a person you love or a habit you sleep on…

Prima Queen is an all-female indie/alternative rock band fronted by songwriting duo and best friends Louise Macphail (Bristol, UK) and Kristin McFadden (Chicago, USA).

Combining vulnerable and nostalgic storytelling with light-hearted lyrical imagery, their ethereal yet gritty style draws influences from artists such as Julia Jacklin, Phoebe Bridgers, and Lucy Dacus.

.

.

.

Tell us the factors you consider in choosing a song as your favourite.

Kristin: Lyrics I connect with and find interesting, but also nice melodies.

Louise: When you hear something really relatable expressed lyrically in a way you’ve not thought about before.

.

.

.

Tell us the names of the songwriters you will collaborate with if you have the chance.

Kristin: Joni Mitchell, Prince, Ray LaMontagne.

Louise: Julia Jacklin, Holland-Dozier-Holland, Niall Rogers.

.

.

.

Tell us your favourite TV show and state your reason.

Kristin: I really love the show ‘Easy’ right now on Netflix because it portrays a lot of different types of struggles in relationships, and the whole show feels so real. Also, it’s set in Chicago, which is where I’m from so that’s an extra bonus.

Louise: Killing Eve! All the badass women…

.

.

.

Tell us your best mood to create a song.

Kristin: Well fed, slept and watered. Usually, the morning is best.

Louise: Confused about something usually – I find songwriting the best way of trying to understand and process feelings about things.

.

.

.

Tell us your interpretation of fame or success.

Kristin: Someone you don’t know singing your lyrics at your show.

Louise: Being able to make enough money to live off making music.

.

.

.

Tell us the names of artists you will collaborate with if you have the chance.

Kristin: Julia Jacklin, Haim, The Dixie Chicks, Alanis Morissette, Sheryl Crow.

Louise: Lucy Dacus, Khruangbin, Nilufer Yanya, Laura Marling, Sister Sledge.

.

.

.

Tell us about your experience performing on stage for the first time or recording in the studio for the first time.

Kristin: The first gig we ever played as a band was at the Water Rats. We made our drummer and bassist (both guys) wear blue wigs because we wanted to be an all-female band. Thank god we have real women now!

.

.

.

Tell us how you approach songwriting.

Louise: One of us will have an idea for the concept of a song usually based on one of our own experiences. Then the other person helps facilitate the most honest form of telling the story. Since we’re best friends we know all of each other’s stories and feelings, so we’re really good at helping each other make the song the truest to ourselves.

.

.

.

Tell us how you deal with rejection.

Kristin: It’s a lot easier to deal with rejection because there are two of us. It’s comforting to have someone who’s in the same position as you and feeling the same things. We keep each other motivated and inspired.

Louise: I think if you’re a solo artist it could be difficult to separate yourself from the music you make, so could make rejection difficult. However because there are two of us there’s a bit more separation which makes it easier for us to deal with rejection – it can still be hard sometimes though!

.

.

.

Elaborate on the song.

Louise: Because Kristin had to move back to America in 2016 for a year we had to work around the time difference between America and England by sending voice memos of song ideas and playing together over FaceTime. ‘Milk Teeth’ is one of the songs we wrote together in this period and is based on two really bad heartbreaks we had around the same time on opposite sides of the world. The conversations we were having as best friends helped us process our feelings and then led to us writing the song.

.

.

.

Elaborate on your artist name and the title of the album.

Kristin: We wanted our band name to be feminine and powerful, so we knew we liked ‘queen’ being part of it. Then we liked the sound of the word ‘prima’ because it refers to a ‘prima donna.’

Louise: The title of the track, ‘Milk Teeth’ comes from a lyric in the song referring to the feeling of ice cream on your baby teeth as a child – the sensation of brain freeze can feel similar to the vulnerability and complete loss of control experienced when heartbroken.

An MC who broke out of Los Angeles, California, Lil Primo is a new & hot rapper from the West Coast who has attracted listeners with his Lil’ Wayne-influenced metaphorical lyrics and sexy, slinky hooks.

The West Coast rapper first developed a following on SoundCloud and has surprised audiences with his violent, dark lyrics that illustrate inner-city life.

His impeccable flow can be heard over new instrumentals and beats; type beats with inspirations from Eminem, Russ, Travis Scott, Drake, YNW Melly, Lil Pump, and 6ix9ine.

Lil Primo has deservedly outdone his social media rap peers by scoring many reposts, likes, plays, and follows that make his rap music stand out.

.

.

.

Tell us your names, country of birth and childhood experience.

My artist name is Lil Primo and I am from Mexican descent. I was born in the United States in Long Beach California. I grew up with a struggling single mother who struggled to put food on the table. I was expelled from multiple schools and somehow was able to graduate. I first began writing music in 2018.

.

.

.

State your academic qualification.

I graduated from high school and pursued college.

.

.

.

Elaborate on your music career, band name, experience, and skills.

I began writing music in early 2018 and first made noise with my single “Bodied.” I represent the West Coast stoners through my brand “Greenleaf Stoners.” I have collaborated with many producers and SoundCloud artists.

.

.

.

Tell us your genre and idea behind your music video or song.

My genre is Hip Hop. I tend to talk about the fake rap community in my music about how some artists claim to be GANG material but they are just faking.

.

.

.

Tell us how to run a record label based on your experience as an artist.

First is music. You need to be able to have good quality music and that all begins with the artist roster. In terms of business, there needs to be a whole organized team behind the execution and development of the label.

.

.

.

Tell us how you are promoting your music.

I tend to do self-promotion by reaching out to other artists or paying promotion services such as artist union.

.

.

.

Explain the story behind the song.

‘Ignorant’ is a track that attempts to capture an image of gang life and ruthless behaviour. The talk is around “ignorant” behaviour.

.

.

.

State the names of other members of your band, music producer, crew or music video director.

The other artist that I would say is a member goes by the name yDeeps and I collaborate with him a lot.

.

.

.

Elaborate on the song and music video.

‘Ignorant’ is a track that attempts to capture an image of gang life and ruthless behaviour. The talk is around “ignorant” behaviour. There are many punchlines in this song that aims to capture audience attention.

.

.

.

Tell us how long you have been in the music business, your experience, and your future goal.

I began making music in 2018 and I hope to one day make a big name for myself and feature beside mainstream artists.

.

.

.

Tell us what makes you unique from others.

Besides my lyrics and style, my background, image, and story I portray really differentiates me from every other artist. I am of Mexican descent and hope to be an active voice of my community in the future.

.

.

.

Tell us your weakness and strength pertaining to music.

My one weakness with music is composing a chorus. My strength would be delivering punchlines and really delivering a message.

.

.

.

List your five favourite songs including the artists.

Money in the Grave by Drake, Baby on Baby by DaBaby, Pull Up by Lil Keed, Pure Water by Migos, Drop the World by Lil Wayne.

.

.

.

Tell us your position on “Do It Yourself” and signing to a major label.

I prefer to do it myself. A label will help you with networking and planning but the control they have on you really limits your creativity.

.

.

.

Tell us other activities you are pursuing apart from music.

I am an active member of my community with the hopes of spreading a positive message that will help the future generation achieve their goals.

.

.

.
