Joules drops a dramatic video for the song entitled ‘Remote’ while she impresses with her great performance.

Her genuine vocal adds to the value of the song with the diverse instrumentation.

.

.

.

Discuss how you develop your melody.

Everything starts with the lyric…..or a bass line!

.

.

.

Tell us your source of inspiration.

God, dreams, dog, nature, ocean, friends…

.

.

.

Tell us the most memorable experience in your music career.

Every time I go on stage it is memorable. I love to perform and these are my most memorable times.

.

.

.

Discuss how you build your song.

I often start with a bass line, because I am a bass player. This particular song I wrote on keyboards…..I had just bought a new program and was messing around with some sounds and came up with the oriental flavoured intro figure.

.

.

.

Tell us how you ensure your music inspires others.

I share my deepest feelings…..doubts, hopes, fears, and dreams. I try to paint a picture with my words and music so that the listener can really experience what I felt during the time I was composing the song.

.

.

.

Discuss the relevance of promotion to the music business.

I am trying new things…I am much more of a creator and introvert than I am a promoter or talker……I wish I had someone else to do this part!

.

.

.

Tell us what you will do apart from music.

That is all I am doing right now. I play in three different bands; doing my own and a few other singer-songwriter materials…I play bass and keyboards in these groups.

.

.

.

List the names of the instruments you can play.

Bass and keyboard…

.

.

.

Tell us if you have any music background.

Yeah…..I’ve been writing and playing for the past twenty years…..since I was a kid…I graduated from music school at Berklee in Boston, too. I have also taught music…..band and chorus in a high school.

.

.

.

State your future goals.

Be able to play in front of a larger audience with more time to rehearse and great sound.

.

.

.

Share your recording experience with us.

I have spent hundreds of hours in the recording studio, both on my own and on other’s projects. I could talk about this subject for days…..

.

.

.

Tell us the most difficult part of the recording.

Capturing what is in the artist’s head onto the recording.

.

.

.

Discuss the greatest mistake you have ever made in your music career.

Haven’t made any great ones…..everything I do wrong is a lesson.

.

.

.

Elaborate on the song.

I was very confused by the disconnect that I observed all around me….people were substituting technology for actual interactions, and it made me think about that word….”Remote”….then the words just flowed!

.

.

.

Elaborate on your artist name and the title of the album.

People have been calling me “Joules” since I was a little kid…

‘Beautiful Disgrace’ is a striking song by The Dukes featuring raw male vocals with a unique delivery of words and inspiring instrumentation.

The original album by The Dukes has received five stars across the board and hailed as a ‘West Coast masterpiece.’

The album includes songs like ‘Mystery Girl’, ‘Thank You For The Party’ and ‘Fate’, with ‘My Simple Heart’ and ‘Every Woman In The World’ upon its re-release in Japan. Produced by the legendary Arif Mardin, it featured some of the greatest players and vocalists of the era.

Hamish Stuart of Average White Band and Richard Darbyshire of Living In A Box joined the multi-platinum songwriters Frank Musker and Dominic Roy King (a.k.a. Bugatti & Musker) to deliver a fresh master class in blue-eyed soul.

Also involved in the project are legendary bass player Nathaniel East (Daft Punk) and drummer John ‘JR’ Robinson (Michael Jackson). The new single is Beautiful Disgrace.
