The Imposters came together from alternate parts of the globe just over 1 year ago. Singer Zoe Eve originally from South Africa migrated to New Zealand where she met guitarist and co-writer Marc Royal. The pair both come from rock backgrounds but wanted to change direction musically with this project – and The Imposters were born.
The group recently recruited Dave Sutherland on drums and Jol Mulholland on bass and recorded with Oliver Harmer at The Lab Studios in New Zealand. Mastering duties were carried out by Robin Schmidt (Nothing But Thieves, Placebo) at 24-96 mastering in Germany.
The band’s debut single “Sell Out” had just been released worldwide by labels DRM & ZEMR records and is available now on ITunes, Spotify, and Apple Music.
“Sell Out” was written about the challenges life throws at you, it’s about having the self-belief to overcome your fears and anxiety and to follow your heart where it leads you. The video for the track was shot in remote part of the South Island of New Zealand called Katariki Spit. The location was very desolate and ideal for capturing the feelings of isolation and vulnerability associated with this song.
New Zealand is a small country with only 4 million people so our goal is to get our music out to a global audience. Music is our passion and we would love the opportunity to take the band to an international in the near future- Marc Royal
The Imposters EP “Doomsday Anthems” is officially released on October 10th 2017.
