Discuss your existence.

Growing up in the country part of North Carolina then moving to the city can put a lot of stress on you. Especially when you have parents that split up so the things you learn in life you had to learn on your own. I rather write about it by putting all of my pain and struggle along with feelings that I was feeling at the time in my music. I will explain to you where things went wrong at and how I manage to keep myself in line by the choices that I made.

Original Motion Picture Soundtrack “Gotti”

Sony Music proudly announces the release of GOTTI (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack), starring John Travolta in the title role.

The album features the film’s original score music by GRAMMY® Award-winning, multi-platinum international music icon, business entrepreneur and motivational Armando Christian Perez, aka Pitbull, and his long-time Grammy-winning producer Jorge Gomez. The project marks Pitbull’s first assignment scoring a motion picture soundtrack.

The soundtrack also includes three solo Pitbull tracks, one of them being the single AMORE featuring Grammy-nominated singer/songwriter Leona Lewis.

“Everything about Pitbull – his style, creativity, and culture make his scoring of Gotti – the perfect marriage of the artist and the material” stated John Travolta.

“It’s a true honour to be involved with this project and working with icon John Travolta on the legendary story of Gotti,” said Pitbull. “By default, we were underdogs in our own right and found ways to survive against all odds.”

Leona Lewis says about the soundtrack: “I love working with Pitbull.  It’s always so much fun and his energy is just infectious. This record was really interesting to put together as it was something new for me.  Being a big movie fan, the fact that the song is in the GOTTI movie is so exciting.”

ABOUT GOTTI:

John Travolta (Academy Award® Nominee) stars as the legendary mobster John Gotti who was head of the largest and most powerful crime organization in North America, the Gambino Family. His flamboyant style, charm and ruthless personae made him the most famous mobster in the 20th Century. The story, told through the eyes of his eldest son John Gotti Jr., delves into the past and explores Gotti’s epic rise and fall in the mob. Gotti earned the name “Teflon Don” by the media, whom he did not shy away from, due to the FBI’s numerous unsuccessful attempts to convict him. Eventually he was sentenced to life in prison, and a young 24-year-old Gotti Jr. becomes the acting Boss of the Family. Gotti Jr. is also investigated and arrested by the FBI for his own connections to crime. Gotti Jr. ultimately rejects the legacy he was born into and walks away a “civilian.”

The film is directed by Kevin Connolly and stars John Travolta in the title role, alongside Kelly Preston, Ella Bleu Travolta, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Stacy Keach, Chris Mulkey, Lydia Hull and Spencer Lofranco.

I am PhilAhsophie, a recording artist.  I am originally from Kansas City, Missouri, but I live in Austin, TX. I started my career by performing Hip-hop at house parties and other venues around town. Later I began to record voice tracks.  My art form is comparable to inspirational rap-poetry – with music of course and can be therapeutic for some and motivational for others. I enjoy sharing my passion with the masses, and I don’t do this for the limelight or to prove anything to anyone.  I sincerely enjoy articulating words that I have composed with the public. If people enjoy my music then I’m cool and it makes me very happy.  If not, hopefully my newest work, whatever it may be, may sway critics to enjoy what I do and to listen whole-heartedly to the words of my songs.  I am unique and I do not attempt to follow any trends.  I am simply authentic with my craft.  I can also say that my tracks would be more on the socially conscious side. I like to touch on different topics that everyday people can relate. I also aim to deliver positive vibes and uplifting messages. I just like to make music that anybody can enjoy hearing without any negative content that would mislead our youth. My music is for the soul and to enlighten.  Thank you for reading and be assured that more music will follow, and I DO appreciate your online support, continue to enjoy or follow me as I hope to elevate my music to another level of enjoyment.

Peace!

Discuss music royalties and how to get paid.

There are several digital distribution services that collect royalty payments from online store sales. That including the use to monetizing. Also In general, a terrestrial broadcast radio station pays the recording artist royalties. Any recording artist can get more details about this online.

.

.

.

Brief us on how to impress fans during a live performance.

Really feel the music that you perform. When you are passionate about a particular song – performance, that energy comes with it.  The audience will reciprocate your energy and feel what your music gives. Basically don’t just go with the flow or imitate somebody else swag. Come with your own energy and let the vibe radiate off you naturally.

.

.

.

List the names of your biggest supporters.

I would have to say that my fan base are my biggest supporters. Can’t name them all individually.

.

.

.

Explain what has motivated you so far in your music career.

Mainly Hip Hop from the 90s era. I eventually developed my own signature style. I like being able to convey thoughts, experiences, and certain aspects of life lyrically and creatively.

.

.

.

Discuss your experience as an artist.

I began by rhyming over beats in house parties, clubs, and ciphers around the area of Austin TX. Later I experienced some touring and being on stage with a few local groups. Eventually I decided to just do my own solo tracks. My first live performance was Coast2Coast live 2017.

.

.

.

Tell us the biggest mistake you have ever made in your music career.

I guess not putting my solo music out sooner than later in life. Although I try to take things as learning experiences instead of regrets.

.

.

.

Discuss the story behind the song.

“Reflections” is about thought releasing on certain aspects of life. Giving perspectives from my personal growth and how Hip Hop can be like therapy.  When used in the right way to be specific. Allowing listeners to hear for themselves what I lyrically convey.  They can evaluate the logic and reasoning for themselves. In general my tracks are not only to be thought provoking but nostalgic to the golden era of Hip Hop in a sense. I enjoy bringing my own signature style and rhyme display.

.

.

.

Tell us how to fund a music project.

A recording artist can start from using crowd funding services to gaining sponsorship. There is plenty online information for that.

.

.

.

Discuss your opinion on the safety of fans during shows and live performances.

I would simply advise people to simply go for the enjoyment. Recording artists should also focus on the positives. Leave out any negativity or ridiculous beefs and that will help to eliminate bad experiences. Although things tend to happen in this world – a lot can be prevented that way. In other words it is better having a good time.

.

.

.

Tell us the greatest piece of advice someone has given you as an artist.

To be original with my style for the most part. I do my best and faith does the rest.

.

.

.

Tell us what you will improve or change in your music.

I never follow one particular format or idea for music. Each track will have its own type of message and vibe. I tend to be my own worst critic that critiques his own lyrics. Like they say “practice makes perfect” so my skills can only enhance with each EP release.

.

.

.

Discuss vocal training and how you protect your vocal.

From my own personal experience I find that keeping myself healthy helps. Like they say “health is wealth” in a sense.

.

.

.

Share your press release and reviews with us.

Well that sort of varies with different viewpoints. People can check my social media, fan base, play numbers, and the profiles that should speak for themselves. I just enjoy making the music and sharing for the most part.

.

.

.

Discuss your best mood during performance.

When I can vibe to my own music while feeling the energy of going live.

.

.

.

List your best artists with reasons.

I would say that recording artists such as Lauryn Hill & Mos Def from the east based on creativity & rhyme skills. Then Bun B & Andre 3000 from the south were some of my favorites there. These are recording artists with different approaches but all share one thing in common. That is being able to paint a vivid picture lyrically while displaying actual skills & tracks that vibe. Although there are great emcees from every coast that had an influence on me.

.

.

.

Discuss your existence as an artist.

I express myself from the soul. I’ll give this for example. Any testimony should not come from fabrication. Each should have their own to provide. Everybody has a unique characteristic about themselves. I intend to express myself lyrically in that sense while showing that I actually have talent. I’ll include my fan base because without them I would probably not be motivated to make music on a professional level.

.

.

.

Tell us the greatest problem you think is facing the society and the solution.

I would say that racism is society’s greatest issue in general. That has taken part in the judiciary, employment, political, and educational system. A solution would be to focus on more second chance options for those needing it. In addition more cultural history is important to help kids enhance knowledge of self-awareness. Decrease the anger and frustrations of lacking hope and more positivity will follow. These things can actually help with that issue. Although racism is unfortunately ongoing and a part of everyday life that cannot be eliminated completely. The point here is that there are ways to better the situation and resolve issues.

.

.

.

Discuss your songwriting and recording.

I write what helps me to vent out certain thoughts along with expressing my creativity. I build on self-critique to enhance my writing skills. I find that reading more books can enhance the writing and thought process. In a professional studio my imagination goes free and I am more drawn into the music making process. I like being in that zone of feeling good vibes.

.

.

.

State your artist name and elaborate on it.

My artist name is more creative than it is standard. Yet with similar meaning of the standard form. My artist name relates to the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality, and existence. A focus on content of character is more important to me in a positive light. I try to convey that along with originality and my own views within lyrics.

.

.

.

State the title of the song and the meaning.

The title of my track is “Reflections” that is about conscious awareness and self-expression. The lyrics were meant to be insightful and thought provoking. Listen to the track and get my message in more detail.

.

.

.

State the title of the album and the reason for choosing the title.

The title of my EP is “Reflections” also. I chose this title to display insightful lyrics and express certain thoughts lyrically. It came from actually having much time reflecting on things in life including some personal and learning experiences. My lyrics come from a mature level of thought while displaying talent. While showing how I am able to use complex rhyme schemes with use of metaphors and word play; making sense with it all at the same time.

NIMSAY & Eldorado

NIMSAY & El Dorado (also known as Pedrinho in the Zouk dance industry) are Hip Hop Rappers. They met in September 2017 in UK Dance Connexion where their passion for music and dance made them cross paths. Within a very short period of time working together they released their first single ‘Like This’ which was a success. They are young and innovative rappers with a real passion for music. They are currently working on the album “Still Standing” which will be released soon.

Discuss your personality.

We are positive and very optimistic about life and what the future holds for us. We have come from a humble background and believe that through effort & hard work we can achieve our dreams.

.

.

.

Discuss your existence as a musician.

El Dorado – My interest in dance and music began at the age of 10. I asked my parents to let me join a famous dance school in Brazil where I learned fast with a lot of discipline and determination. I was so ambitious and motivated that in a short period of time I was already traveling the world teaching and performing. I felt very satisfied with this, but I wanted more.

Since I was already familiar with rhythm (music and dance are intertwined) I ventured into DJing @ London Sound Academy (one of the best DJ and Production schools in London). I learnt the fundamentals about music & how music is defined.  I had always felt a very strong desire to create music and share my ideas with the world, so when I met Nimsay I decided to take this on board and continue to accomplish my dreams.

Nimsay became my sister. She showed me the way and encouraged me to do this when nobody believed in me. It’s more than a blood connection; she is the sister I never had.

Nimsay – I started music at the age of 12 when I began creating vocal melodies and rhymes on my cousins’ beats. We would spend days and nights in the studio writing and recording. Unfortunately life pushed us apart and I then came to the decision of continuing my music journey alone.

As I grew, my passion for songwriting increased. I would write songs, record them and send them off to auditions. I tried my luck not knowing where this was going to take me. Before I knew it I was signed by a record label in London. As we all know, life can throw unexpected challenges at you and this is what happened. The timing couldn’t have been worse. I had to leave the country and head back to my hometown in Spain. As a result of my frustration I quit music for a year. This was a defining moment in my life because it pushed me to decide that never again will I give up on my dreams. A few years later here I am back in London, building again from scratch and with more motivation than ever.

When I returned to London I met ‘El Dorado’ and we immediately connected, it was an automatic click. We connected not just as friends, but also for the love we shared for music. It was only a matter of time for us to start a partnership, it just felt right. He is my partner in crime and my brother, the one I always wished I had.

.

.

.

Go into details on the changes in your life for choosing music as a career.

For me being creative in dance & music has always been fulfilling and is my bread & butter. But as a child my dream was always to make music. I didn’t have support from my family, I had to fight hard to be involved with Music and Art but they didn’t believe that was a promising career for a living. I come from a poor area in Brazil with not a lot of opportunity, when I found art I knew what I wanted for myself. It didn’t come easy I was setting up and cleaning up music events and shows to make some money while the dancing wasn’t making anything so I was doing that until I was 17 years old. When I turned 17 I did an audition for a company in Sao Paulo where we were learning Dancing, Music and Theatre. In Sao Paulo was where I found my love for Rap/Hip Hop, Sao Paulo a city of 12.11 million people and dreams. The Brazilian Rap gave me voice, all the songs were relate to daily basis problem with society and they gave me power to go on day after day. Slowly I was able to get in to the music and dance scene. Met a manager for international tour and was able to leave Brazil and work abroad with amazing dancer and musicians I was finally able to use my own voice as a way to encourage others to chase their dreams. As a dancer it has never come easy. I have worked in the most difficult environments just to present my art.  With music it is exactly the same. Late nights choosing passion over sleep. Sacrificing work for my music.

Nimsay – Music has been a part of me. I express myself through my music. I feel through music I can encourage people to keep pushing through the dark moments. We all have to maintain a life where money comes into play. But that doesn’t stop us fighting what is deep in our hearts and soul and that is what music is for me. My outlet, my saviour and as previously mentioned the setback for me in my career was the challenges of life that stopped me personally creating my music. The setbacks a creative artist feels is that to be able to survive you have to put music on the side and create in the middle of the night when you should be sleeping. You make sacrifices that might seem like a setback. But with all the challenges you are creating for you and the belief that someone will get strength from your song.

Art is a journey in itself by choosing it as a life career you will always face the difficulties that come with it.  It’s not a 9-5 job with a set salary. But it is a way of life, a life that you are constantly creating. Investing in to making our dreams come true is always a risk. But the benefit is you are free to create, fill people’s life with positivity through your music & reminding people that life is your own creation.

.

.

.

Tell us the benefits and drawbacks of choosing music as a career.

If I haven’t chosen this life I would have never been involved so deep in to music and I would have never met NIMSAY and she is the only one who supported me when I was about to give up.

Drawbacks – the time and the investment, and low value payment is the worst part, so you need to keep working on some other jobs and find the time to do what you love the most.

.

.

.

Tell us how you will manage fame as an established artist.

We’ve been hustling hard since we were kids, we want to create a stable carrier to perform around the world, we love what we do and we want more people to hear what we have to say. Everyone wants fame; it’s a consequence of a good work, we want fame so we can provide for our family and enjoy life doing what we love, I want my baby to have everything I never had, I want my wife with me everyday, not working to make a living.

.

.

.

Elaborate on the storyline of this song.

“Be Real” came to our mind as a frustrations that few rappers all they do is make noises on the songs with reverb ,they have no meaning or purpose and yet they have millions of people listening to that. It made us think what is going on with Rap. That’s why “Be Real” was created be real to yourself and your life, don’t just copy what’s going around.

.

.

.

Let us know the greatest moment of your music career.

For a duet who recently got together we had some amazing experiences, on the first month of our career together we were invited to sing in international dance festival in PRAGUE, AMSTERDAM, MADRID and our song “Roof Down” got us in to the LA Coast 2 Coast.

.

.

.

Share your press release and reviews with us.

As new duet; our only reviews are on our live shows, it’s been going well since we had our first show in London we kept getting invitations to perform internationally.

.

.

.

Discuss your experience pertaining live performances, gigs, shows and tours.

We love being on stage together, that’s where we belong and where we want to be all the time everyday. We’ve been performing on all sorts of stages from small club floors to big international stages in festivals. Live is one of our strongest points as we’ve been dealing with Music and Dance our whole life.  Love tours around the world, nothing better than see your work being recognized.

.

.

.

Discuss the changes in your life as an artist.

The changes are that your main focus becomes your art. You work 365 days to see your music on a radio or to perform for a big audience. No sleep you are either creating or performing.

.

.

.

State the names of the most important people that boosted your music career and how you met them.

We are the ones pushing ourselves everyday, we don’t have a team behind us.

.

.

.

Explain what you have in mind before considering music as a career.

We are in this for real.

.

.

.

Discuss your experience in life.

Life hasn’t come easy to us; we come from different countries with different cultures.  We believe in energy and how the universe guides your path into what you’re supposed to do. Doesn’t matter how low you are you have a choice, you can choose to suffer and become a victim or stand up and fight. Actions make a difference especially if you want to get somewhere.

The way we met is a big example. We met at a random dance event and we start speaking because she was wearing a gold apple watch and I was full of rings and gold chains, that day changed our lives forever.

.

.

.

Name the artists that have influenced the world.

Tupac, DR Dre, Notorious BIG, Eminem, P Diddy, Michael Jackson, Prince, Nirvana , Nas, Kanye West, Whitney Houston, Usher, James Brown, Queen, Elvis Presley, Bob Marley, Madonna, The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix etc.

.

.

.

Discuss your moment of rejections as a musician/artist and how you are able to cope and move on with your career.

In 2011 we were in the auditions for The Voice in London. We had passed to the final stages of the auditions and were rejected just one step before hitting the live TV shows. It was disappointing to make it so far and not pass through, but that rejection only gave us more power to restructure ourselves and come back stronger. We are in this for the long game and rejection will only give us more reasons to fight.

.

.

.

Tell us the most negative comment you have ever received.

As a female rapper I kept getting reminded that it’s a male dominated industry and that I would have to work double as hard to be successful. El Dorado came into my life with the determination of proving all these comments wrong and to use that frustration as power to make every song bigger and better.

.

.

.

Elaborate on the song.

“Be Real” is a really important song and it’s who we are and where we want to be. It shows that our reality will never change our final goal. NIMSAY talks about her frustration with music and disappointments in life (our current situation) while El Dorado speaks about the ambitions that we won’t let other people control our dreams; we are working hard and the money will come.

.

.

.

State your artist’s name and elaborate on it.

NIMSAY (stands for YASMIN) Yasmin always did her life backwards, that’s where the name came from. El Dorado (Pedro) Pedro was always in to gold since 10 years old. So Yasmin gave him this name of El Dorado (The Gold).

.

.

.

State the title of the song and the meaning.

“Be Real”, it’s about be real to yourself, don’t deny that you have failed but also don’t let go of your ambitions, your survival and your dreams will keep you going.

.

.

.

State the title of the album and the reason for choosing the title.

We chose “Still Standing” as the title of our album to give us and other people who felt helpless a voice and motivation to keep going. We want to be heard and tell the world that no matter what, you can always fight your way back up.

El Dorado – 2018 was a tough year for me. My business fell a victim to Money Laundering. This was a very hard moment to soldier through and it affected my life a lot, especially with a new-born baby. I felt so helpless and kept getting told that my case was too small. As a cause of this I lost 15k.

Nimsay – Life has thrown loads of challenges at me as well as life threatening experiences. I have fought through many paths and learnt from all the tough journeys. At times I was at my lowest point willing to give everything up however I always found my way back up. This is where the inspiration of the album name “Still Standing” came from. After all we have gone through as individuals we are here and STILL STANDING.
