Halo Circus is a critically-acclaimed trailblazing bilingual alternative rock band, featuring its star singer Allison Iraheta. Crafting “anthems for introverts,” Iraheta digs deep into dark places and transforms this anguish into lush, unforgettable melodies.

Halo Circus earned a reputation for their impressive live performances, which led to a series of high profile bookings, including: The Grammys “Women Who Rock Festival” with Heart and Emmylou Harris. Iraheta also performed on The Tonight Show, making history as the only guest vocalist featured with the show’s band for an entire week.

On February 8, 2016, Halo Circus announced, via Billboard, the first fully crowdsourced American tour ever to be attempted on such a large scale. Through Road Nation, the campaign reached 100% backing by fans, making music history with the first successful US crowdfunded tour to date, with 30 cities which they completed November 11 at The Hotel Cafe in Los Angeles to a packed house and rave reviews.

The release of Halo Circus’ highly anticipated debut album, Bunny, was heralded by fans and critics alike making multiple “Best of 2016” lists and continues to gain in popularity. Iraheta explains, “our aim was high: play as much as possible, and try to develop a reputation as a great live band before releasing an album. Somehow along the way we learned how to play these songs to an audience and the band actually started to take on a life of its own.”

Iraheta concludes, “Magic happens in this band. It happened when we were writing, when we were recording, and when we were failing. The only thing that mattered was keeping it honest and getting it right, whatever that means. We may be inconvenient, but we continue to attract believers.”

“The East Lansing Sessions” EP was released on May 5 and was recorded at Troubadour Studios in Lansing Michigan during the “Follow The Rabbit” US Tour.

Pravini – Give Back

Singer / songwriter Pravini surprises many with her warm, exotic look and her rocking live performance. Armed with her own band Pravini brings soul music that is strongly influenced by hip-hop, rock and rhythms of South America and India. A combination that comes natural because of her Surinamese and East-Indian background. The energetic performance of Pravini and versatility of her band are bound to capture the audience.

Diaspora

In 2012 Pravini released her album Diaspora, for which she received an enthusiastic review by 3voor12, a renowned music website in the Netherlands. She attracted the attention of various local and national media, including AD Haagsche Courant, NTR Radio 5, OHM Magazine, Pleasure Magazine and Radio Netherlands Worldwide. She performed in live shows of Radio Amor, Radio Mart and RPL FM Woerden and pop venues such as Paard van Troje and Tivoli. Her talent also reached an international audience, she appeared on Simply Bhangra (UK), Times of India (India), did a (media) tour in Suriname and received an outstanding review by Bryan Farrish Radio Promotion (USA). The single Armed & Sexy reached number 3 in the charts of Suriname and turned Pravini into massive hit.

In addition Pravini produced her own live show with a unique vision of her own: Diaspora Beats, an exciting show bringing live collaborations with guest artists from the hip-hop and Bollywood genres. Pravini: “I want to show the richness of the different worlds I grew up with. The energy that the rhythm of the Indian dhol entails intrigues me as much as a heavy hip-hop beat. The Bollywood classic soul touches me to the core just as the soul of the West. I want to bring these forces together on stage.”

Music

Encouraged by her mother to take piano lessons at the tender age of 6 Pravini knew early on she found the love of her life in music. After graduating from high school at 18 she left for the US to participate in the summer performance program at the Berklee College of Music in Boston. There she sharpened her skills as a musician, playing the keys and writing her own songs. After obtaining her master’s degree in Media Studies at the University of Amsterdam she completely focused on her musical career.

Since the release of her debut single and music video ‘Cuz I’m A Lady in 2006 Pravini has released four albums: PraVision (2008), Roses from Raj (2008), Beyond Borders (2009) en Diaspora (2012). She has worked with several producers from the Netherlands, the United States, France, Germany and Italy. In 2009 Pravini toured the US where she did 15 shows in 2 months and performed in New York, Miami, Virginia, San Diego and Los Angeles.

Recognition

Pravini’s achievements haven’t gone unnoticed. In 2006 she received the HSFN Music Award for breaking boundaries by being the first Dutch Indian R&B soul singer appearing on Dutch television with her own music video ‘Cuz I’m A Lady. Not only was she noted for her boundary breaking music video, but also appreciated for writing her own music outside the traditional Bollywood genre the Dutch Indian community is used to. In 2010 she received the Shakti Award during the Saraswati Art Festival for her achievements as a Dutch Indian female artist and her musical contributions to the Dutch Indian community in the Netherlands. In 2012 she was added to the Sarnámi Wall of Fame by the Sarnámihuis.

Giving back

Besides her music Pravini is very much socially involved. In 2006 she became the goodwill ambassador for the Global Human Rights Defence (GHRD), an international human rights organization focusing primarily on human rights abuses committed against minority communities in South Asia. In her monthly blogs Pravini shares the mission and activities of GHRD. In addition she contributes to the production of GHRD benefit events with her creative and artistic experience, raising awareness on the goals and activities of GHRD by combining entertainment with information.

In 2012 Pravini also co-founded the Sarnámi Artist Network together with the Sarnámihuis. This network provides a national platform for Dutch Indian artists and facilitates exchange of experience, knowledge and networks and supports artists in their professional development.

Ann May – The Dark Side

Ann May grew up among the vast pastures in the north of the Netherlands. She loved nature, space and freedom and was almost always to be found outside. The music she writes comes straight from her heart and is inspired by life itself.

Her debut album ‘Genuine’ is a translation of who she is as a person driven by her passionate music. The first single: “The Dark Side ” draws the duality of the human brain and the possibilities it can create.

The second single “World of Silence” describes our World full of lies, in need of silence to balance it all out.

Her music can best be described as ‘Rockpop’ with personal lyrics and slight Goth and Symphonic influences.

Her live band consists of drums, keys, bass, rhythm and solo guitars.

Leena Ojala – My World

Indie electronica artist Leena Ojala combines dark lyrics with 80s-infused vibes and big melodies to create a sound that’s at once haunting, ethereal and captivating.

Born in Germany to an English mother and a Finnish father, Leena spent her childhood in Hong Kong and then Essex; a cultural upbringing that would later prove a sublime influence on her artistic persona. Aged 17, Leena moved to London to immerse herself in music. Inspired by strong female vocalists including Stevie Nicks, Kate Bush, London Grammar and Amy Winehouse, she took her time experimenting with her sound. It was an exciting exploratory phase that laid the foundations for the tracks that would soon follow.

After her time in the capital, Leena relocated to Berlin – a city renowned for its anarchic creativity – where she spent a number of months gathering new influences and traversing the city’s eclectic music scene. On returning to London, she went straight into the studio to hone her own unique sound. Leena’s first offering, the critically acclaimed EP1 released in November 2015, was the spine-tingling result.

Since then, Leena has worked with the likes of D/R/U/G/S, Benbrick, Forte, Saturday/Monday, DJ Sweap and DJ Doobious releasing more material. Her music has been covered by the likes of The 405, The Fader, Clash Music, Idol Magazine, Atwood Magazine, the Unsigned Guide and many others.

Fenix began his career in 2004 playing in the Moscow club scene, where he sharpened his skills as a DJ before leveraging his talents to solidify a collaboration with renowned UK dance duo, Supafly, which led to recording and subsequently releasing his first international single, “I Believe” in 2007. The video quickly broke into mainstream chart success and radio rotation in the U.S., Australia, Germany and the UK. “I Believe” helped cement Fenix’s ascent as a rising star in Russia’s EDM scene, opening the door to performance bookings in some of Europe’s most renowned venues and events. Fenix’s steadily growing profile and body of work earned him a “Best DJ” accolade from the Music Entertainment Awards in 2012. That same year, Cosmopolitan (Russia) lauded Fenix as the “Russia’s Most Eligible Bachelor.”  Fenix resumed a heavy touring schedule for the next few years to continue building his profile in the international EDM scene throughout Europe. Every performance was an opportunity to build increased momentum and awareness, resulting in the artist sharing the stage with industry elites such as, David Guetta, Bob Sinclar and many more.

In November 2014, Fenix was given the honour of being the first EDM artist to ever play a live performance in the Kremlin, Russia’s main house of government, as the opening act to the 2014 Musicbox Awards. Aside from the unprecedented and historic opportunity to perform for attendees that evening, Fenix walked away with another “Best DJ” award recognizing his success in the genre through the years. Fenix made his official debut in the U.S. leading up to the release of his first stateside single, “Cosmo Zoo.” Prior to the record’s launch, the artist built heavy buzz around the track through a performance tour in NYC throughout January 2015.  “Cosmo Zoo” officially dropped on February 16, 2015 topping at #11 on the Beatport Progressive House charts. Fenix followed the single up with the release of “Eternity” in April 2015 and “The Voice of the Earth” in August 2015.

In April, 2016, Fenix released “Satellite” featuring RCA recording artist, Frankie worldwide. The track, which was Fenix’s second single release on Carrillo Music, was instantly propelled into heavy rotation on Y100 Miami, the city’s #1 Top 40 FM station. The artist capitalized on the momentum from his latest official single with an unofficial remix of Justin Timberlake’s “Can’t Stop the Feeling,” which ended up trending at #1 on New York’s top dance music station, 103.5 KTU, for three weeks in a row via Sean “Hollywood” Hamilton’s Remix Top 30 countdown.

Fenix kicked off March, 2017 with the release of his latest single, “All Around the World” ft. Chris Casino on Spotify, iTunes and Beatport. That same month, Fenix garnered recognition at the 2nd annual 2017 Remix Awards taking place as part of 2017 Miami Music Week, and produced by iHeartRadio’s Remix Top 30, Digital Music Pool, and hosted by “Hollywood” Hamilton. During the ceremony, which took place at the iHeartRadio Music Lounge in South Beach’s W Hotel & Residences, he received nominations for “Remix of the Year” as well as “Best Bootleg” for his “Can’t Stop the Feeling” remix – taking home an award for the latter category.

With its power ballad ‘Apollo’, Timebelle represented Switzerland at the 2017 Eurovision Song Contest in Kiev, Ukraine. The band is named after the famous Swiss landmark. But Timebelle is also a tribute to a ‘beautiful time’ in Berne, where the band was formed.

As the perfect trio, the three band members performed from the heart in Kiev:

As a trained musician and dedicated actress, lead singer Miruna Manescu from Romania always expresses her passion for art. She is also an avowed chocolate lover.

Emanuel Daniel Andriescu plays the piano, but also teaches saxophone and clarinet. The internationally active musician has been living in Switzerland for ten years. He achieves his goals with a great deal of charm.

The third member is drummer Samuel Forster. The dedicated Swiss-born musician pursues his professional visions with boundless energy and a talent for organization.

With the song ‘Apollo’ and its distinctive melody, the three creative souls express their hopes and dreams while asking themselves whether there is such a thing as eternal youth.
