Tell us how you develop your sound and style to make it different from other musicians.
I write lyrics that are real to me; conveying and painting a picture to the listener that they can relate to. I can still write and flow about the parties and women but I can also tap into the struggle going on.
Tell us your opinion on the way new artists are coming up and the frequent release of songs.
I think it’s dope. We are living in a time where you don’t need a big bank or label to be heard and I create enough content to keep up with the fast pace releases.
Tell us your experience as a musician.
I have been writing songs for nearly a decade and continue to sharpen my craft. I want to get more into writing more melodies and composition to music. As far as rapping and storytelling I think I am pretty good at that lane.
Tell us your opinion on streaming and digital download of songs.
We are living in the future. As long as the artist is getting paid I feel it’s all good. The highest source of income will always come from performing; I don’t think that will ever change. But that feeling of reading physical credits on an album book is sadly expiring.
Tell us how you see yourself in the coming time as a musician.
Performing more and talking more about the issues going on in the world.
Tell us five current artists that are your favorite presently.
I mean they change pretty frequently but I am listening to those as of now.
Tell us your best song up to date and share the link.
It has to be something from my last project.
Tell us your dream and hope for the future.
To provide great music for the listeners and change someone’s life for the better with my music.
Tell us what you think has changed in the music industry.
A lot, you can start with the pace that it is digested. Here today, gone tomorrow.
Tell us your opinion on TV and radio stations playing the same songs from established artists mostly and giving little chances to independent artists.
It kinda sucks but that’s the game of big bank labels doing their job for the artists that sometimes deserve it. There need to be more chances for local artists to shine.
Tell us the challenges you think independent artists are facing and how they can be tackled.
Paying for promotion and standing out in a bucket full of crabs. There should be more beneficial platforms that help.
Tell us your opinion on how corruption is affecting society and how it can be eradicated.
We are living in very scary times today. This world has always been wicked but now I think we are moving towards a time where things can get very bad or better. I always hope for the best. I think the cause of many of the human issues is fear and ignorance. Many people still don’t believe we are all sisters and brothers no matter the physical. We are all humans, once everyone gets past that, things will get easier.

I started because it was sort of a release for me, then as I included others I realized I was good at it and can have a positive effect on others.
Tell us what still motivates you to go on with your music career.
Tell us about you as a person.
I’d like to think I am a cool guy, very down-to-earth. In case you are wondering the Av is short for Avery. Besides me being relatable and cool, I am from “Chilltown” AKA Jersey City.
Elaborate on the story behind the song.
It’s different from my usual. I collaborated with fellow artist Yung Brew and we just wanted to make something fun for the dancers and drivers.
Tell us the process involved in making this song.
It didn’t take too long. Although I usually don’t make party records or hype songs; I seem to write to them naturally and fast. We wanted to make it as catchy as possible.
State your artist’s name and elaborate on it.
Coolboi Av from Chilltown Jersey City. To be cool is not to have the latest clothes or car, but to be cool is to be yourself. Even if you pull up in a 97 Honda.
State the title of the song and the meaning.
PullUp. Pretty straightforward, about driving your favorite car to your girl’s place and having a good time. I feel like we need more of that out here today. A good time, as long as it’s safe.
