Tell us your real names, country of birth, date of birth, and childhood experience.
 Andres Marin, USA, 07/24/90.

Tell us about your music career, your band name, musical background, experience, and skills.
At 4 years old I fell in love with Hip-Hop, when I heard Hip-Hop Horray by Naughty By Nature for the first time. I listened to that song day and night. Dresjay is the last 4 letters of my name mixed with my middle initial… just spelled in a cool way lol. In my teens, I learned FL Studio, but my patience wasn’t where it needed to be to really get in-depth with it. I’ve taken music a lot more seriously in the last year and a half, and have a tiny bit of piano classes to my name to help with theory. I’ve written and produced every song that I’ve made up to this point.
Tell us about your genre, concept, and idea behind your music video and the song.
I’m definitely a rap/hip-hop guy. The hip-hop side comes out with a song involving poetry, and the rap side comes out with songs that involve flow and energy, etc.

Tell us everything that we need to know about you as a musician and the ups and downs you have faced in the music business.
Everything I do, I hold to a high standard. I think anybody who wants to be successful at anything has to be their worst critic. I’m just a baby in the business, that’s a good thing and a bad thing… a lot of things to learn, but a lot of room for growth.

Tell us about other members of your band, music producer, crew, or music video director, how the song was recorded, and how the music video was shot.
I produced the song in my living room after having way too much energy, anger, and needing an outlet. I record at NH studios in downtown Manhattan. My main man Eddy mixes and masters all of my music. We shot the video when it was WAYYY too hot in July, there were some challenges getting the final cut, but I’m happy with the results. Hangin’ out with the dance crew was literally the top 3 most fun things I’ve done in life.

Tell us how long you have been in the music industry, your experience, and your future goal.
I’ve pursued this for a year & a half so far, and one of the most important things I’ve learned is consistency is key. It’s so competitive. My goal is for the music I make to be enjoyed by as many people as possible.

Tell us what inspires you to write, compose and sing.
I love creating. Turning nothing to a 2-4 minute song is such an incredible experience. To have people to relate with it is amazing. I think any artist, in any style of art, will tell you the same thing.

Tell us the secret behind making a hit song.
I don’t have a hit just yet. Though, would think a hit needed to be made from a real place, or real experiences.

Tell us the message you will like to pass to your fans out there.
Love life, embrace emotion, and never take anything for granted.

Tell us the piece of advice you will give to an upcoming artist.
Stay consistent, and develop a sound true to yourself.

Elaborate on your music careers, albums, songs, tours, recognition, or awards you might have obtained.
Like I said earlier I produce in addition to rapping.

Tell us how you write your lyrics, compose, sing and record in the studio.
I write my lyrics in true rapper style… on an i-phone. Normally it takes me a good 1-2 takes to get the right tone/emotion on the Mic.

Name five biggest artists that you look up to like idols.
Eminem, Jay-Z, Cam’ron, Kanye West, and Suicide Boys.

Name the artists you have collaborated with before in your songs or artists you are willing to collaborate with in the future if you have the chance to do so.
I’ve collaborated with a singer named Nala Doll, and my boy Smooth. I’m open to collaborating with anyone who’s passionate about their music.

Tell us about your happiest day and saddest day.
This is definitely one of the happiest days of my life… as far as sadness goes, this has been a sad year minus my music. Way too many funerals of people I love and care for.
