Eric in His Own Words:
It all begins with a beat ….
I have a history with darkness. From a chaotic childhood of poverty and addiction, my own experiences with sin and vice. It’s not been an easy road, but thank God He never gave up on me. Even after accepting Christ and getting clean, I continued to struggle with the temptations and pain of this world.
Two years ago my world was crumbling. My relationship with God and my family was at a low point. I felt useless, lost and in despair. I was sleeping in my car, unable to face my loved ones and without much hope for the future. That’s when I heard it. The radio began playing a beat. That’s where it all began. My soul was stirred for the first time in a long time. I bowed my head and let it move through me. I opened my mouth and out came the poetry that my heart had been holding in. It now had a conduit; a way to come through and speak its light into the darkness. The words poured forth from my mouth, sending goosebumps and trembles through my whole body. At that transformative moment, I felt a new birth take place. A new calling. While I wasn’t perfect by any means I knew God could still use me with this gift he had given me. I had purpose, I had determination. I knew my mission from that day forth.
To anyone who is here listening to my music, first off I want to say thank you. But I also want you to know that whatever situation you’re in in your life right now, God has your back. He will never give up on you. The universe began with a rhythm when He spoke his words of creation into it. That rhythm is in you now and you have a purpose on this planet. It’s not always easy but from experience I will tell you it is worth it. Whether your calling is music or something else, give your life to Jesus and he will make something beautiful out of it for His glory. Step into the rhythm of creation and embrace the new birth. Remember it all begins with a beat.
LYRICS:
AMEN
Got me walking in your freedom
As you cast my sin
AMEN
Got me walking in your freedom
As you call my name again
AMEN
Day out
Day in
AMEN
Praise King
Lift Him
Shouting out the war cry
Putting on my holy armor
Walking on the battlefield
Spitting words that bring you honor
Holy Father
What’s discarded?
Walking in the muck and mire
You use it for your victory
Give him Glory for your honor
Cast out as a misfit
What a trick that label did
In my soul it made me sick
Didn’t know they full of it
Full of sickness
Full of death
Speaking evil every breath
Mixing chaos like a chef
Eating every word they said
AMEN
Got me walking in your freedom
As you cast my sin
AMEN
Got me walking in your freedom
As you call my name again
AMEN
Day out
Day in
AMEN
Praise King
Lift Him
Lemme be your mouthpiece
Screaming like a crazy man
Gonna blow your name up
Suited up like Taliban
Not reaching for a body count
Let ’em know the great I am
The Son of Man
The One who can
The One I fly my banner with
Got me screaming Amen
Got me steady praising
Lifting up my hands
This is so amazing
Got me going deep
Intimate relations
Giving me a victory
The One who holds creation
Shape me like a piece of clay
Expressing your magnificence
Every curve and every line
Every touch significant
Munificent
Knowing I was heaven sent
Not holding on to worlds ways
Knowing they irrelevant
Writing you a canticle
My language is semantical
Like I’m on the 7th year
We calling it sabbatical
Fill me up with wisdom
Making me grammatical
Shooting at the enemy
Loading up the Canon ball
AMEN
Got me walking in your freedom
As you cast my sin
AMEN
Got me walking in your freedom
As you call my name again
AMEN
Day out
Day in
AMEN
Praise King
Lift Him
Lifting up the Great creator
The Righteous One
The vindicator
Calling Him my heart’s persuader
Never will be any greater
Name of Jesus Holy Savior
Gave me flavor
Gave me favor
Etch your word upon my heart
Calling Him the great Engraver
The one who’s present representing
Truth so freely I’m repenting
Walk away from everything
Holy Spirit intervention
The Only One
The Chosen one
Creations One
And Holy Son
Is coming back
And we can’t run
Can’t outrun
His righteous love
Are you looking for a change of ways?
Looking for a grand exchange
Maybe life just needs to change
Call His name ’cuz Jesus saves
Saves us from sedation
Self-eradication
Violence that we’re facing
Stand up now and change a nation
Only you can speak for you
Only you can believe the truth
Only you can seek out proof
Wisdom written for you to view
Take it out how you want it now
The truth is here and calling out
Hear the voice it’s getting loud
Echoing throughout the house
AMEN
Got me walking in your freedom
As you cast my sin
AMEN
Got me walking in your freedom
As you call my name again
AMEN
Day out
Day in
AMEN
Praise King
Lift Him
Music Career: I have been doing music for around three years now. I literally woke up with this ability around three years ago in the midst of some very deep struggles. My artist’s name is Eric Cohen. I prayed about this and it was revealed that I should use my own name. The meaning of Eric is Ruler and Cohen is Hebrew for Priest, God made me as a ruler and a priest.
Idea Behind Your Song: Christian Hip Hop. My idea behind the song was simply to write a battle worship anthem, a song that will hype people up to praise the Most High. This song came to me quickly. I made it through the process of writing and recording in under a week.

Future Goal: Around 3 years. My only real goals I have are to help people with my music. I do pray that one day I will do a collab with Toby Mac.

Song’s Title: A.M.E.N. – The meaning of Amen means so be it. This word closes out prayer as we pray to Jesus. The word AMEN is an outcry to the Most High and a promise that comes back to us from our King.
