Tell us about your future music projects.
I’m working on promoting my EP Breathing so Easy and hopefully a second EP after that.
Tell us if you will change the style of your music to get signed.
No, I wouldn’t change my style of music to get signed.
Tell us if you have a guideline or standard set for your music production.
You hope everyone has a high standard when it comes to production.
I think the key is working with good sound engineers and also listening for yourself to see if you like what you hear.
Tell us your preparation for a live performance and how you make sure the quality of sound is high.
Practice makes perfect as they say. Performing live can give you an incredible buzz. But lots of energy and nerves can make it easier to make mistakes so practice is key.
Discuss how to live healthy.
I think having a good attitude helps along with all the obvious things such as a balanced diet.
Tell us if you are in control of your performance or you are still learning.
I’m always learning. Do you ever stop?
Tell us that precious moment you chose music as a career.
Music has always been part and parcel of my life so I don’t think I can point to one particular moment.
Tell us the greatest feedback you have ever received on a song of yours.
I’m always thrilled when anyone listens to my EP. Someone once told me they found the songs peaceful, which is lovely to hear.
Tell us your side interest apart from music.
I love watching live music and dancing – although it’s not usually at the same time.
Tell us the artist that influenced you.
Hard to point at one particular artist but I love some of the older songwriters such as Simon and Garfunkel.
Tell us if you prefer singing as a solo artist to collaborating with others.
I love both.
Tell us the full details of this song.
The title track of my EP ‘Breathing so Easy’ is all about holding on to hope when you’re going through a rough season.
Tell us the organization you will set up to fight a cause and state your reason for fighting the cause.
I was born and raised in India so I’ve always had a soft corner for young girls in India who are trying to break the poverty cycle they’re born into.
Tell us your mood while performing.
Most of my songs are quite chilled but I love getting the crowd involved if I’m doing a cover.
Tell us the mistakes to avoid in the music business.
Don’t ignore your gut instinct.
State your artist’s name and elaborate on it.
Nitya – that’s my name. It’s pronounced Ni-thi-ya and it means everlasting in Sanskrit.
State the title of the album and the reason for choosing the title.
The EP is named after my title track Breathing so Easy.
