State your reason for choosing music as a career.
Music is therapeutic, heal people’s souls. Life can be tough on all of us and it gives me joy seeing people unify as one on one thing which is music. And also it allows me to communicate with different people and share my gift with them. And the feeling that I have when I am on stage, I can be myself without anyone judging me or hide my crazy personality, I just feel free, I am me, Prisca, and I want the whole world to know the real me. That is why I choose music as a career.
Tell us how you write the lyrics to your song.
Well, I don’t really force myself to write, I will be thinking about something and suddenly I will find myself writing.
Share your press release and reviews with us.
I have contacted some radio in Strasbourg in France where I originally grew up, but Facebook has played a huge part in my press and reviews release.
Tell us about your life outside the music world.
Outside my music world – it is very simple, I love traveling a lot and discover different cultures, spend time with my friend but at the same time, I love spending time with myself and surrendering myself in a quiet environment. A lot of people find it very wired as I come across as an open person who talks to anyone.
Brief us about your music career.
I come from a musician family, my dad conducts 5 gospel choirs and my mum sings. So I have been introduced to music since I was made in my mum’s belly. I’ve started singing in my dad’s choirs and the main one was Arc en Ciel in Strasbourg, France where I was the soloist and the pianist at the age of 17. I have been part of school projects and school choirs. My biggest audience was when I was 14 I had to sing “Oh happy day” in front of over 2000 people since that day I feel like that song has followed me no matter which choirs I am in. At the age of 18, I join a reggae band as a backing singer for 3 years then I participated in New Soul contest in Strasbourg in France and won the public vote. And recorded my 2 first songs and created my first pop-funk band Temp which ended when I moved to England to pursue my music career. I have always performed at peoples’ weddings and other events in France. In the UK I have joined a gospel choir back to the resource, just to keep me going while I am fighting for my career.
Elaborate on how you come about your artist’s name.
Prisca means ancient, wise and a lot of people told me that my name reflects my personality so there is no need to change for something that I am not and that is why I kept my name. But I just kept it differently Pris-K, K in French is still Ca so I just add something a bit fancier.
List your five favorite music videos with reasons.
Tightrope from Janelle Monae, first of all, I am a huge fan of Janelle Monae. I love the odd of the video, to be honest, and I don’t fully understand it but according to the lyrics; those women in black are maybe the negative side of people.
Bruno Mars – Finesse: I just love the fact that he is bringing the old school style back, colorful, positive, and funky.
Sitya Loss from Eddy Kenzo, that video just showed people that even if you do not have everything you want in life; music can make a difference and it shows how people are happy with so little and the talent we have in Africa.
Bruno Mars – Perm; again a huge fan of Bruno Mars, the guy is just amazing and has his own style.
Beyonce – Grown Woman: I like the fact that she is bringing back the African roots and style and moves.
Tell us your source of inspiration.
Life is my inspiration, things that I feel and observe all around me. But also all my struggles and happiness in my personnel life help me to write so I write to ease my mind and express myself, it makes me feel better.
Elaborate on the A-Z process of this song.
I wrote “Do It” melody originally back in the days when I was in my last year of High school, for an ecology project. And when I started working with RSArtist that melody was coming in my head and at that time I was going through a lot of difficulties with work, and also about the fact that I wasn’t going anywhere with my music so and the chorus of that song was popping in my head, I CAN DO IT and the night before I went to the studio I just started writing and the words were just flowing in me. “Do it” is an encouragement to anyone doubting themselves or going through difficulties small or big, you just need to believe in yourself and never let anything stop you and go for it without any regret.
Tell us what you have on the way for your fans.
The goal is to release my first album before the end of this year.
List the names of those that have supported you so far.
There are so many people who have supported me so far obviously my family, my dad, and my close friends, there are so many that I will need a new whole page for them, Melanie; my best friend, and Allicia; my other best friend from high school. And also people who have offended me because if they haven’t I won’t have ever pushed myself.
Tell us your opinion on comparing a music career to a non-music career.
I don’t really see anything wrong in both; everyone has a different ambition and vision so if you chose music as a career or a non-career as long as everyone is happy that is the main thing.
Tell us your opinion on quality and quantity in terms of releasing songs.
Personally I always dream big and I am a perfectionist because other people’s opinions count a lot to me. So if I am doing something I like the quality to be great in order to reach the whole world. Of course, you can’t please everyone but if it is only 1% that is left out I think it is a good win. Good product and better result.
Tell us your opinion on categorizing music into genres and sub-genres.
It helps people to distinguish what kind of genres they are into and give the public guidance.
State the genre you hate most with reason.
Metal song is one of the music genres that I can’t listen to only because I don’t call screaming singing. Maybe it is to get the pain out but my brain can’t just take it. I like listening to word in music and understanding them but when they are screaming it, well I don’t really know what they are talking about.
List your five favorite movies with reasons.
Black Panther: First African adventure movie of all time that is not talking about slavery or gangster or drugs.
The Help: I love that movie because it is a great movie but also it shows that in the time of racism not all white people were bad and that people should give credit to those ones who wanted to help out.
Hidden Figures: Great movie once again, there are women that are smart too and even sometimes smarter than men without being feminist, but we shouldn’t be discriminating because we are women.
Green Mile: That movie made me cry, it shows the injustice of killing people wrongly and they can’t see it because they are blinded by their own opinion.
Harry Potter: The production of this movie fascinated me but also mainly the story of J K Rowling.

State the title of the song and the meaning.
“Do It” – Whatever you want to achieve in life big or small, no matter how hard things can get, don’t give up because I know if I can do it you can do it too.
State the title of the album and the reason for picking the title.
World: I am talking about life and things that I have observed and my opinion.
I want to tell my story to my fan through my songs if they want to know the person who I am and how I think it will be through my song. But also I want them to know that when they are facing joy or sadness on a daily day basis; they are not alone going through these but I have gone through also and I want to give them the solution how I dealt with or make them see that it’s OK to feel the way they are feeling.
