Pat would make demos of the songs and present them to the rest of the band. Logan would set up a recording rig in Pat’s living room and we’d track the songs live until we had enough material to use as a basis for overdubs. Then we spent a few months doing overdubs in various bedrooms and closets, mixed it over a few weeks, and put it out.

State your artist’s name and elaborate on it.
Swell Spells. It was a cool name Pat came up with for what was supposed to be a solo project, then he decided that it should just be the band’s name.

“Demons” is a song about anxiety and its uncontrollable nature.

State the title of the album and the reason for picking the title.
We named the album “Tell Your Friends You Love Them” after a banner our friend Ernesto made for a DIY show. It resonated with us and we ended up writing a song with that title, it just stuck after that. It’s also about how our friendship guided us through the making of the record.
