Also this year I have two songs on a Summer Album called ‘Strictly Summer’ from the UK’s New Atlantic Records.
My name is Sam and I’m a 20-year-old recording artist. I’m from Peoria, Illinois, and my sound can be described as country pop. I have released one single, and I’m expecting to release my second in the coming weeks.
Stronger Than Before
My first single, “Stronger Than Before” was released on August 8, 2017. The song has an upbeat, vibrant sound to it, and the lyrics were written to give hope to those who have been knocked down in life. I wanted to remind them that the light can only get brighter, and they are stronger than before, which is important to remember!
I grew up in Peoria, listening to my dad play drums in various bands. I always knew that one day I would be up there playing, and I picked up a guitar at age 9. By the time I turned 16, I had written a song called “Forever in My Dreams” and had fallen in love with songwriting. I listened to a lot of classic rock as a teenager, and I particularly admired Justin Hayward, singer and lead guitarist of the Moody Blues. Everyone has a musical hero, and he is mine. At age 18 I started recording, and released my first single at 19.
Favorite Fast Food – Arby’s
Favorite TV Series – Seinfeld
Favorite Movie – That Thing You Do
Favorite Band – The Moody Blues
Favorite Beatle’s Song – Got to Get You into My Life
Favorite color – Green
Kent Holmes is a singer-songwriter who was born in Shreveport, LA, where at an early age was busy singing in his local church and school. He graduated to teen glee clubs and local city clubs at the age 16, where he performed Jazz and R&B. He became a local success, but felt like there were bigger and better things that laid ahead for him in Los Angeles.
He entered school at Cal State Long beach, where he studied Counseling at the graduate level, but never worked in the field after graduation. Music was his passion, even though he had gone to school. He teamed up with Michael Bishop in the late nighties, and performed throughout the Hollywood area.
This lasted until he was side tracked by acting for the next 10 years, appearing in television and films, from LA to Miami. Music was never far away from his mind, and 3 years ago he came back to his original art, and in 2016 recorded his first pop song “Home” and “FlyAway”.
Now he is back to Jazz, where he began. Happy in lust, but will never forget the loves he lost. Enjoy his latest recording “Ada Brown”.
Award winning songwriter Drew James performs his solo act all over the west coast, primarily in the bay area, including the Bread and Roses concert series. Drew’s songs receive airplay around the globe.
Drew’s studio releases “Out to Lunch” (2017), “Love Through a Prism” (2015), “Screaming at the Sky” (2012) and “Mystic Rhythm Fingers” (2010) include his most requested songs. His 2007 acoustic release “Way Beyond the Maze” includes the Great American Song Contest award winner “You Can Cry to Me” and the Billboard World Song Contest award winner “Thicker than Blood.” His 2006 release “The Last Second Chance,” produced by Bruce Kaphan, was submitted for Grammy consideration. It includes the Billboard Song Contest award winner “That Old Friday Night Feeling.” The CD was also featured at the Toofy Film Festival in Boulder, Colorado. He appeared on Shuteye Records’ “United State of Americana” compilation CD that made it to #53 on the Americana Music Association charts in 2005.
“On his The Last Second Chance CD (2006), Drew James has created his own music realm, attractive and hospitable to any Real Music lover, no matter his or her genre preferences. Strictly speaking, the album is recorded in a folk-rock key, but there’s so much True Blue feeling in every track that they sound “more Blues” to me than many of the “canonized” 12-bar standards. The arrangements and performance are tasteful and natural, and the production is simply perfect (a George Martin level work done by guitarist Bruce Kaphan). To those yet deciding whether to buy or not this CD, I’d say it’d be one of their best investments, a “long term” one – the more you play this record, the better it sounds. Drew James’ music world is a place to stay – “you can check out any time you like, but you can never leave”.”
– Paul Bondarovski, Midnight Special Blues Radio
“As Far As I Know subscribes to traditional roots songwriting, but bends the rules slightly by subverting traditional sounds with intimate singer/songwriter blues tones” – Ryan Hoffer, Shuteye Records A&R
MUD AUDIO VOODOO is a project born (2015) from the economic crisis. How can you make music with little money?
I was reminded of Bowie’s song “I’m a DJ” (I’m a DJ and I’m what I play)….. So using various free software and low price I started mixing, changing loops and samples royalty free. All bought on the internet from eBay, Beatport etc….
Influenced by my land (Bay of Angels, Aleph, thriller, Mecca, Slego, Zanzibar …..) I composed the first blends that were published by The Orchard Enterprises NY. Inc. in the digital world (iTunes, Tidal, Amazon, Spotify … etc.) this gave me a little light that brought the single “Away from This” up to the 12th position in the European indie chart.
Charm & Chain is a four piece original groove-rock band based out of Pittsburgh, PA. Beginning in late 2012 as singer/ songwriter Laurie Kudis’s (keys/vocals) solo project with the release of ‘Heliacal Rise’, a full band rapidly assembled and began writing and performing locally. Eric Koester (bass/vocals) and Ben Sukenik (drums/vocals) were integral in defining the sound and in writing new material for the release of ‘I Know What You Are’ (2014) and along with Laurie, form the current line-up. Eric DiFiore (guitar/vocals) joined the group in 2015 and the chemistry between the four was instant. The members of Charm & Chain challenge and inspire each other musically and feed off of each other’s’ energy and intensity. Pulling from a deep vault of influences, Charm & Chain likes to explore spacey psychedelic grooves, earthy rock jams, shimmery and engaging melodies, and provocative lyrics.
